That’s my ONLY problem with some Slipknot stuff. 3 different percussionists make it hard to really hear how much of a genius Paul was. His music mind was next level you nailed it
Jorden McKinney fr tho. Part of what I love about Slipknot is having 3 percussionists. But it’s also part of what I don’t like. Paul really doesn’t get the credit he’s deserved.
All he did was play the root note of what the guitar players played. No real genius there

This song has such a misunderstood bass. I knew as soon as you nailed that groove in the chorus that you'd got it right. I've seen way too many bassists murder this song. You have restored my faith in humanity!
Wilson hybrid this version seems slightly different than what's on the album at some parts. Watch the video of Paul gray doing it for comparison. It's subtle but slightly different
The Behind the Player version is not the same as the album version. It'd dumbed down. The isolated bass track from the album is floating around somewhere.

I have the action on this bass set quite high to help mitigate the fret buzz and tighten the feel on lower tunings.

Everyone in this song does a great job, from the bassist to the drummer to the singer and guitarists. You could say that about any band, but for this song especially cause you can admire different parts of it every time you listen to it and it's not just one or two guys carrying the song

Paul wrote some great riffs for slipknot not the most technical out there but he could write a great hook and was a great natural song writer slipknot has never been the same without him
