The picture of the young woman is called Pinkie and is a famous work done by Thomas Lawrence in 1794. It is a rather tragic story and is often accompanied by The Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough. They are both at the Huntington Library in CA.
They are both beautiful pieces of art! I just recently was given both pieces in the large wood frames!

The Pink dressed girl is Pinkie painted by Thomas Lawrence in 1794. I love her we had her in our bathroom growing up. She is also paired with Blue Boy. We had him too. I recently bought both for my bedroom. I buffed their frames with gold

OMG that bunny with the watering can!! SOOO cute!! I can totally see that in a display for spring or a tier tray!! great find at the bins! and she wasn't broken!! I think those Gantz Betsy ceramic pieces go for $20-$25. your picture at the end fits perfectly into your Betty apron.. it was just so cute!
I have a set of Correlle that I think is now discontinued. I got it as a wedding present and is still being used after 50 years. So enjoy this type of video. Probably because you are so good at making me feel like I am right there with you drinking my coffee along with you. You are doing a great job.

I love collecting old art and the girl print is called "Pinky", she's most times accompanied with a print called "Blue Boy". They're from the 1700's, so very old and very popular with those who do collect old art. I had been looking for a set and was actually given the large odd size 18×14 beautiful old wood framed prints last week.. yes I'm thrilled!!😊 She'll be pretty styled with the little flower! I love the tiny prints too..very cute vignette! The bunny is cute on the mantle🐇 I've been looking for the baby bens too! You scored some great pieces, thanks for sharing😊

A couple of frilly paper doilys from the dollar store could be trimmed and fitted around your print as a kind of matting and then you could vary the width to whatever works without it having to be all one width like a regular mat.

An idea for your print in need of a narrow mat...I recently thrifted an old framed map where someone used grosgrain ribbon in place of a mat. They folded the ribbon diagonally on the corners so the corners looked sort of mitered.

You would be able to do one of those bags. You could use one of your cross stitch pieces or a doilies and put it on one of those ready made bags.

That religious plaque is actually from the church in San Juan,TX. I can’t believe you found that. I am actually going there this weekend. It’s 8 hours from where I live.
Hi Nicole, I think getting a nice coordinating piece of scrapbooking paper to go behind that picture in the frame instead of a mat would work nicely. I still use my Tupperware measuring cups and love them.....they are the white ones. This month I bought my very first piece of uranium glass, it is a pretty divided dish.

Mary Engelbriet in the 90s/20s was a very popular designer. You would LOVE her style...those commercial pieces were just a part of her "thing". She had a magazine in that time, too, and I have every copy. Her style was what we love!! Very maximalist. Fun things everywhere and repurposed much like today. She actually was a pioneer in what's good now. I don't know if you are familiar with Mary Emmerling, but she was much the same...flea market style. Her's was a step up from the other Mary....a little more polished, but still flea market chic. They were really the forerunners of today. Also 2 other ladies and Iadies who were REALLY into the flea market chic. They had several books, as did both Marys. I don't know if Mary Engelbreit still has new things or not. Her trademark was Life is Just a Chair of Bowlies. Her magazines had paper dolls with outfits in every issue. I was SOOOOO sad when she ceased production.

I like that idea of your journaling. I once saw a picture a guy did with cut outs from magazines etc.of old buildings landscaping water etc. He created a beautiful picture that looked like a painting.Just sharing.👍🏻

Don't feel pressured to '"JOURNAL" as in write. I don't think any of the channels I watch actually journal. They just create. Victorian ladies collected magazine cutouts and scrap and the like. They didn't journal. You might just make a short note on trip pages so your grandkids will know what was going on at that time with you.
The young woman in the framed print appears to be wearing a Regency gown with an "empire" waistline. In other words, a fashion from the early 1800s during the Napoleonic era. The style of the painting is similar to that of Gainsborough of the late 1700s.
i have that pattern cup and saucer and you are correct they are different. My cups flowers are blue and doesn't have a line around the cup..
I try to think about what an item would cost new. Stained glass items are expensive to make. The glass is costly. So I thought the angels were reasonably priced. Just knowing from my experience making items

Pinkie's real name is Sarah Goodin Barrett Moultin. Age 11 at time of painting. You should read about Pinkie and Blue boy, very interesting, both real people
