Your review makes this book something I'd like to read. I like reimagining historical figures in story. (I haven't read the Abe Lincoln as a vampire one, but I love the idea. And I haven't read Forest Gump, though I vaguely remember the film. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've read any Alternate History books 😅 (Then why do I want to read this one?))
Two things that may bother me is the forced humor and the genre/point-of-the-story confusion, but those might not bother me so much after all (YMMV, as they say).
From what you describe, I'd give the book a potential 6/10.

@@williamwest3594 I'm glad you found it helpful! My friend finished it and she liked that Gore was a historical figure. So, definitely subjective! I do kind of wanna read Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter but that feels a little different than a romance heavy book with spice to me 😂

@@TiffReadsBooks, I'm not a spice reader myself, but it's not a big thing either way for me. (I kind of think the idea of spicy historical figures is funny. E.g., Charles Dickens elopes with Charlotte Brontë for them to become anti-colonial pirate lovers wreaking justice on the high seas.)
