Some guys started a petition (sort of) in a discussion on the workshop page. I doubt it'll do anything though, since the original creator hasn't really been active in 9 years. I only uploaded the maps to the workshop for everyone's convenience.
Well to be fair, it tends to be a bit harder for pyros or heavies due to not enough confined spaces and from the dev's perspective all 9 stock loadouts must be viable. But that just takes some tweaks.
@@alex_zetsu bruh spy is the opposite of viable on hightower, not to mention pyro fares fine on hightower because of the tower and dropping down on enemies. Theoretically, you can just use the gas passer, jump across, land behind the enemy team, and murder them with the backburner.
There's a lot more maps I wanted to feature, but I feel this is one of those videos that could have gone on forever. Also take a shot everytime someone gets fiercely upset that I included Minecraft music again. Or mentions the After Eights. I have some larger video projects I'm working on for this month - including a life update now that I'm settled in Tokyo, so I'm going to be busy! There'll still be videos beyond those, so fear not :)
Vikings was great. I remember playing on there for hours. People need to create these kind of maps again. Goofy, but playable maps. Not goofy clusterfuckish maps.
It's unfortunate that (since I'm too lazy to figure out how to manually make a nav mesh ; My community tab is broken) Vikings is kinda unplayable for me. Seems fun.
dude, there was something special about playing your favorite community server in 2012-2014, owned by one of the many clans tf2 had; which had it's own map by one of the staff members/some mapper and was unique to that clan/group
Ah Cyberpunk. Good times playing on it. When it got sent to Prophunt, people were hating on it on the server I was on. Mostly because of the complexity and broken stuff about it when used for Prophunt. Also the music playing on Cyberpunk the whole time is: No More Heroes - Main theme. Also No More Heroes for the Wii is so fun
The reason I first tried Convoy is, that it does remind me of the UT2004 Assault map: Convoy. Such great content; nice to see, that you have a genuine side with a more serious tone, rather than always all silly and always acted up. Some people make funny videos all the time, and even they try to make fun out of more serious and important topics with no honest side of the videomaker's personality in sight, which can be sickening after a long time. For instance in a few QnA videos, even if the asking person is curious about a more serious thing, the content creator answers in a silly, dishonest way, that I feel being so disrespectful towards the asker and the audience in general. But you're not like that, which makes you a much more valuable person. Keep on going. I hope, that you are having a great time in Japan.
Thank you for the very kind words, and I'm glad you're enjoying the content. I'm having an absolute blast in Japan. It's new and different and I love it
All these years and I never knew some versions of ToyFort had a bathroom.... Anyway, the CP maps toyfort, toystore, bedrooms, and bathrooms are by far some of my favorite maps just because of how they look. The map design isn't great, but it's really unique to TF2. Then you have the video game ones like the Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, and Mario Bros. that really take me back.
Taste A lot of the time people go hoovy in front of me just because they're trying to get a moment in the spotlighg for a video. So I show them no mercy
The best fun I had is playing the balloon race maps.. When I go to the community servers, its like 3000+ active servers.. now only just hundreds. I miss my tf2 glory days.
the map is absolutely beautiful and i want to see more servers of it, we need more grassy maps in tf2, im getting tired of seeing the same ol aged red dry maps.
That Toy Fort map looks like a fun one.Great idea.I've only been playing for about three years so I never got to see these older maps.I do feel like I've joined the whole scene in progress. There's still so much to learn about the game.
LazyPurple's two "friendly" (peaceful) servers, based in NA region, still run these and similar weird or beautiful custom maps, i.e. Sunset Saloon. That's where I know most of these maps from. His servers are normally peaceful (killing forbidden except taunt kills, if people are okay with it), with the exception of when "wacky races" maps ( like i.e. Balloon Race) are being played for the objective and killing is allowed.
Vector will always stay in my heart as the first custom map I have ever stumbled upon in my early years. I still keep the .bsp as a memento for design because I love it so much.
Years ago I was completely obsessed with the Cyberpunk and Mario Kart maps I would just sit in empty servers running those maps and just explore aimlessly but still have tons of fun.
Oh, those maps bring the nostalgia when I was a newbie in TF2, so sad that those servers had fewer people playing on them right now. The first map you show on the video, the space station map one, the devs from Overwatch took inspiration from that map to create the Lunar Horizon Colony. Geez, I miss those old days of glory
Oh man. Convoy was always my favorite map. 2009 or 2010 is when servers stopped playing it, and I would never have stopped playing TF2 if it had persisted.
I remember playing Cyberpunk and Toy Fort on the CC Funserver. We were usually very friendly on Cyberfunk, and Toy Fort was notorious for stalemates. I've also played Convoy before. Fun map.
Quick Play was when I stopped playing, all the servers in my favorites started closing. Cyber was awesome with low gravity, there was also that DJ booth in the middle to annoy other players with, lol.
Man I miss the old tf2 days, I remember all the maps that I had favourited being half to completely full and now they’re just all empty or just a shell of what they used to be.
The Deathmatch version of Vikings was my main (non trade) map. I played sooooo many hours in that map, this takes me back indeed. Gotta hop back in there someday.
Hey, maybe someone from here can help me out on this: Before I got into TF2, i looked it up on youtube and saw some gameplay of it. The gameplay was on a map thats custom, but I didnt know back then. This must have been in the early years of TF2, since I looked it up after everyone in the HL2 multiplayer mods got crazy about it (and left them behind, like sourceforts). What I remember of the map is that it was a pretty huge wide open desert landscape with a train line going trough it (maybe it was a circle but I'm not sure). There were some train tunnels on the map too and a moving train. Wooden fences, cactusses, some huts. Anyone has any idea what map that could be?
I used to play a lot on Convoy! The ground did not kill you, it would just propel you backwards until you died all the way at the end. I exploited that by jumping down next to the enemy truck, outrunning the convoy with the FaN Scout and going in fron of it, jumping up on the front "bumper" and into the intel room from above. Same thing to come back, just FaNjump across and hop on a fender; no need to be in the front while coming back, since you'd be an easy target while doing that.
I never played much TF2 back in the early days. I only played Viking out of these maps. I started a bit later. But I did play Convoy in Unreal Tournament 99...what an awesome map.
Cyberpunk makes me remember a good old Prop Hunt brazilian server. It was a normal PH server but with a small twist: Goomba Stomp allowed. That meant the props could hide themselves or try to kill the pyros chasing them. Just the greatests of times in there.
what was that one old map where it was a CP map with the center being a bridge, and underneath is two tunnels that lead you to the other base is you destroy their wall, and last CP for both was like a square room with one opening
The most nostalgia filled map for me is the Pokémon Goldenrod city map, you can find it on XG’s Pokémon trade server, god that map is amazing, the one problem is sniper sight lines.
10:48 @RTGame, I know that it seems that you know much about Unreal Tournament 2004 as much as I loved playing too, but I have not ready to play it since while I was busy downloading some music and notification sounds while drawing, posting and uploading on every social media.
Does anybody remember the old orange textured map that featured 2 towers on either side, with a giant gap in the middle? 2fort style, but the map was just a HUGE square style? This would've been back in 2013 on a custom community server- maybe started with x? And no it's not CP orange it was just a DM style map with a random string of text as it's name. It might not even exist anymore...
Damn, I remember playing these maps way back in the early days of TF2 where community servers were still a thing, especially Toy Fort!

The good old days...
Can we all agree it should be illegal that CTF_Convoy isn't in the game already?
Mochi Sandvich where is the petition I will sign with all the accounts I have.
Some guys started a petition (sort of) in a discussion on the workshop page. I doubt it'll do anything though, since the original creator hasn't really been active in 9 years. I only uploaded the maps to the workshop for everyone's convenience.
Hopefully it gets added in the Frontline (heavy) update, it would fit

rt how did you get ur viewmodel in the middle?
thnx very much made my day!
RTGame on the map cyberpunk the music being played is from a game called No More Heroes (check it out.)
Gets drunk in seconds
How are you enjoying teaching English?
Nostalgia kicked in when I heard the music playing in the background at the beginning haha
same cept i cant put my finger on it... do you remember what game it was from?
It's from No More Heroes, there are several songs which use those notes but it might be Season of the Samurai.
BlackOcto35 the song is from minecraft :)
Captain1nsaneo the fuck it's from minecraft
Captain1nsaneo ita actually from minecraft.
Hi, just to say, the convoy was,is and be an awesome game.
But train saw laser is just making me nuts
It's actually from a UT2003 map.
someone called?...oh wait you just said nuts
Pretty sure the pirate ship level shown was also redone from UT99 as well @@thehandsomearrow4516

Cyberpunk more like a war on a crowded asian market to me
NeoChina from the future returning to spark the technological singularity

Greatly appreciate the maps and the music choices

Cyberpunk was like the first TF2 map I downloaded.
It also has a VRchat server but it's empty most of the time.

War. War never changes.
The best fun I had is playing the balloon race maps.. When I go to the community servers, its like 3000+ active servers.. now only just hundreds. I miss my tf2 glory days.
*pl_abandoned_upward* ...
it sucks theres no server running it... it was just spectacular ;(
Now I know this is a year old comment , but isn't it ironic that it's abandoned upward and the map is abandoned
the map is absolutely beautiful and i want to see more servers of it, we need more grassy maps in tf2, im getting tired of seeing the same ol aged red dry maps.
coal mining sucks imo, even grass map for "alternative game modes" would be amazing
Some amazing maps! CTF_Convoy is only played on Zombies vs Medics now, never saw it being played normal.
Zombies vs Medics?
Its played in ff2
That Toy Fort map looks like a fun one.Great idea.I've only been playing for about three years so I never got to see these older maps.I do feel like I've joined the whole scene in progress. There's still so much to learn about the game.
Cyberpunk is still on prophunt.
i wonder if some of these maps could come back as the official ones if you update the textures and models to fit them more into the tf2 art style.
Cyberpunk 100% could be made into a tf2 art style map.
Thank you so much for making more of these videos. These are absolutely amazing.
Some good nostalgia. Thanks man!
LazyPurple's two "friendly" (peaceful) servers, based in NA region, still run these and similar weird or beautiful custom maps, i.e. Sunset Saloon. That's where I know most of these maps from. This video hit me hard, that classic mc music at the opening especially. Jeeze, I miss this game and the long gone custom map communities so much.
MC music ay lmao
mpoumpz more like lazy imo
Xenoblade music tho
I used to play on toy fort a TON, it sucks that there aren't any active toy fort servers anymore.
For anyone wanting to play toyfort, a version of it is available and quite common on LazyPurple's SIlly Server.
Freaking Viking man. I remember playing that map & falling into the DM game style. Good times.
It's a classic
i remember a smaller toy fort type map, where there were chocolate bar ramps and a book with paths through it. i miss that map
Wasnt there a CP convoy?
Its not official and a little wonky compare to the ctf
There is, they link to each other in their descriptions on the workshop.
Ah, convoy. I remember finding out it was possible to survive falling off and sneak capped the Intel by looking like a suicidal idiot. Good times.
6:01 YES THATS THE MAP I WAS LOOKING FOR , i remember 5 years ago playing on that map now here it is
OMG, the cyberpunk map's music is the No More Heroes theme! I am so happy that people still play this game :D
Vector will always stay in my heart as the first custom map I have ever stumbled upon in my early years.
I still keep the .bsp as a memento for design because I love it so much.
"Not a lot of community servers could stay afloat." Was that a boat pun?
Video game: *Exists*
Boomers: D e M o N s P a W n
It's been a year now, RTGAME has changed quite a bit.
The Toy Fort map is in a fps genre called rat maps. There's a bunch of cool stuff made in that style. Most of the ones I played were in UT99 though.
Loved playing on the old 24/7 Cyberpunk and Markio Kart servers. Used the same Username back then, cheers for the good times
Years ago I was completely obsessed with the Cyberpunk and Mario Kart maps I would just sit in empty servers running those maps and just explore aimlessly but still have tons of fun.
cp_orange will always be a legendary map
Oh, those maps bring the nostalgia when I was a newbie in TF2, so sad that those servers had fewer people playing on them right now. The first map you show on the video, the space station map one, the devs from Overwatch took inspiration from that map to create the Lunar Horizon Colony. Geez, I miss those old days of glory
I detect some Makna Village and the outside of Colony 9. Thank you for letting me hear those again.
Oh man. Convoy was always my favorite map. 2009 or 2010 is when servers stopped playing it, and I would never have stopped playing TF2 if it had persisted.

My favorite server Cyan.TF plays Toy Fort alot.
Quick Play was when I stopped playing, all the servers in my favorites started closing. Cyber was awesome with low gravity, there was also that DJ booth in the middle to annoy other players with, lol.
I remember Toy Fort also having a Payload map... infact, I don't think I ever played the CP version but always the Payload.
wait wtf convoy was a custom map??????? damn i thought it was an older map valve removed or something
There was a UK 24/7 server for Toy Fort. I played it ALL the time in 2016
I actually really miss it
0:58 *Now that's just cruel.*
drizzziit and I'd do it again
RTGame That's the spirit.
RTGame un exist your TF2 acc
Man I miss the old tf2 days, I remember all the maps that I had favourited being half to completely full and now they’re just all empty or just a shell of what they used to be.
Oh man...cyberpunk, and toy fort!! so many memories
The Deathmatch version of Vikings was my main (non trade) map. I played sooooo many hours in that map, this takes me back indeed. Gotta hop back in there someday.
And 1 year later , still depressed that these maps are not existing in this age
Those who are wondering the BGM for Cyberpunk that RT mentions is the main theme for the game No More Heros
Was watching the forgotten maps vid yesterday then this came up, nice.
The cyberpunk server song is called N.M.H. from the game No More Heroes
Hey, maybe someone from here can help me out on this: Before I got into TF2, i looked it up on youtube and saw some gameplay of it. The gameplay was on a map thats custom, but I didnt know back then. I didn't join TF2 till 2015 so I never got to expierence the custom maps, and that Toy Fort map looked super cool!
God bless you for playing xenoblade chronicles music. I can't help but get giddy anytime someone acknowledges that incredible game.
I used to play a lot on Convoy!
The ground did not kill you, it would just propel you backwards until you died all the way at the end.

btw at convoy you can outrun the vehicles as a scout by constantly jumping with atomizer.
I remember playing a lot of toy fort and warpath back in the day,fun times were had. I also greatly miss morrigan halley
GOD seeing Cyberpunk again brought back so many memories
nice Xenoblade music
I remember playing a shit ton of "balloon race" maps in ~2011. So sad noone hosts these anymore... Most fun I had in TF2.
I never played much TF2 back in the early days. I only played Viking out of these maps. I started a bit later.
But I did play Convoy in Unreal Tournament 99...what an awesome map.
Man I hope we get the source of UT99 someday
There are back ways to the objective in Vikings, you've gotta swim for it.
Cyberpunk makes me remember a good old Prop Hunt brazilian server. It was a normal PH server but with a small twist: Goomba Stomp allowed. That meant the props could hide themselves or try to kill the pyros chasing them. Just the greatests of times in there.
7:29 it's me!, I'm the scout here with the Wilson weave
That no more heroes music at 3:30, pretty neat.
Cyberpunks music is just the theme song to no more heroes. In case anyone was wondering.
those old vsh and prophunt maps..... man i miss community servers back in 2011 - 2015
Jesus Christ, the lag!
13:14 look at the doggo's face LMFAO
I️ played cyberpunk, convoy, and toy fort so much, I️ almost cried after this video
Good god, toy fort brought back some good Vs Saxton Hale memories
what was that one old map where it was a CP map with the center being a bridge, and underneath is two tunnels that lead you to the other base is you destroy their wall, and last CP for both was like a square room with one opening
The most nostalgia filled map for me is the Pokémon Goldenrod city map, you can find it on XG’s Pokémon trade server, god that map is amazing, the one problem is sniper sight lines.
Toy fort is used a lot in custom class war servers, like, the delfy class wars server hosts this map.
i remember when muself made a convoy video
When they did the demo troll convoy thing my only thought was "The sky is Scotsmen"
2:03 there's a water bear
The amount of times there was a serious moment in this video then all I here is "Hey Vsauce"
I remember playing like ya know... DOUBLECROSS this thing is dead now
Can we all congratulate him for using the minecraft music?
RTGame doesn't get the RTFame he deserves. And that's an RTShame.
10:48 @RTGame, I know that it seems that you know much about Unreal Tournament 2004 as much as I loved playing too, but I have not ready to play it since while I was busy downloading some music and notification sounds while drawing, posting and uploading on every social media.
The music Cyberpunk was playing is from No More Heroes, I should say
That Convoy one looks awesome, even by today's standards.
Your RTE reporter impression is really good.
Toy fort is still played on Delfy's fun server, if you want to play it with 32 players then you came to the right place.
yes, looking forward to the update.
How u get the notifications like "Soldier hurt a bit" or "Spy around here!" above the ammo counter? Is it a mod? Where can i get this from
its the ingame subtitles
Some HUDs replace your subtitles, and since the source engine allows for sounds to have any subtitle they use this as a notification thing
as sniper on convoy i hide in the inner wheel smoke plume that goes over the back bumper.
I really wish I could play this. It saddens me seeing all these great maps I never got to play on. I wish I was there before they changed quickplay..
I couldn't stop staring at after eight box down there.
12:36 Okay, so tree?
Two, one, go.
I mainly played convoy, cyberpunk and the mario kart maps when I started. They were just classics.
