Actually several hundred cameramen got turned into roadkill during the making of this, they didn't use most of the footage because it was "Not good enough" according to the editor.

I'm gonna try and get this modpack running on actual Windows 98 hardware. I'd be far more surprised if it didn't work, but being stuck with the on-board video card makes testing hard for now

I for sure need to play this. Hearing that TM3 Rob Zombie music kick in sent my nostalgia through the roof. I thought nobody cared about car combat games anymore.
Edit: I instantly knew I would love this game when that heavy vault door opened and revealed a secret passage way. One of me and my dad's favorite things about the original Twisted Metals, and just games from that era in general, was the emphasis on secrets and powerups. Finding every hidden interaction in every map and getting the edge on eachother was always so much fun... its also why we liked exploring and playing on all the cool Half Life 2 deathmatch and CS:S maps that had secrets built in, like Dm_Spookyface or Dm_walmart.
If this modpack gets popular enough, do you think it would be possible to release the mapping/modding tools and have map contests?

@@BeardedExpenseunfortunately the second level: send in the sharks crashes the game on all saves, from what i know it’s the only level that does that, so i can’t pass further in the new game
Another problem is purely on me since i’m really bad with pcs after not using them for a while, but if you close TDRLauncher all your progress is lost except for beaten game

sorry for late comment but it totally rocks man!!! one question, does it allow me to just open ports and host multiplayer games etc? hope it can be played on steam version on linux - having no problems playing vanilla tdr so hopefully it will work.
@@BeardedExpense yes i noticed unexpected crash. Setting this gameranger alongside of the game on linux is a bit time consuming for me so i will pass.

@@BeardedExpense Good to hear this is still being worked on :), could you provide a separate link URL to download the current version in the mean time while we wait here? Even if it's just a mega link or media-fire instead of of Google. Would be cool if you found a way to introduce the "doom arena" modified track somewhere as well, would be fun :).
@@BeardedExpense That's awesome, had no idea new maps were even possible for TDR 2000 as even making new cars was a pain in the ass, so that's brilliant the modding community has found new(?) ways to allow this! I'd love to know how it was achieved. I used to LOVE tweaking car stats in C2 via a text file. I wonder if it's now that easy in TDR 2000? All of this was always something I wanted for this game, more maps, more vehicles, more missions with fun scripting (if this is even possible) and just more replayability. I enjoyed TDR 2000 a lot, yeah its not C2 but I feel it had a great soundtrack and vibe. Anyway waffling! Sounds great, looking forward to a new release, please keep at it!
but maybe add a feature where the mod detects the og game? so stainless steel won't be on your butt?
