Gotta love actual driveable chargers not perfectly restored scared to drive chargers I'm glad that's what I get to work on is a charger my old man rebuilt in the mid to late 90s and sat in a garage since 2006 now working on getting it back on the road
I love it too but after having it installed for about 3 years I think it was I was really wanted a stock hood again. I really only got the six pack hood scoop to take off the bug catcher and cover up the hole. I did like it but I really wanted a stock hood again.
@@Charger383Mopar I understand how that is. I have a cowl hood on my car. With a 5 inch cowl I have a inch of room. But I’ve gotten tired of it want a different look. I’ve thought about a factory hood with a big catcher.
does bring back the memory when I started my 68 it was just like yours it was a little bit of a rough hot rod I could even remember how it smelled inside I was thinking when you tried to start it you left the coil wire off I've done that before pull wire off didn't realize it I want to ask you your video when you adjusted the bands on your transmission what was not.right and did u fix it
@@Charger383Mopar the only reason I ask is because the band that you got to remove the pan to get to is how hard it kicks into low and reverse the band that's on the outside of the transmission has to do with the 2nd gear shift
I'm looking at intakes for my stroker 440 build. I'm using the 440 Source Stealth (906 copy) heads. I know they say the dominator is a bit soft down low... I'm assuming that the intake makes less low rpm vacuum, which may be what causes some off-idle stumble. I have to assume this can be worked around. Am interested to see how the intake works out for you long term.
Good for you - enjoy watching your vids - not trying to be a purist, but did you use Mopar turquoise for “68 paint? And a bit disappointed you didn’t go for a new valley pan and you didn’t torque down the intake bolts...
I did not use the mopar turquoise to paint this motor. I'm planning on building a stroker motor and that one will be the correct color. All the intake bolt were tightened down tight and equally so I'm not worried about it.
@@Charger383Mopar ah ok, my bad WW - I forgot that you were building the stroker as I’ve seen in previous vids - I’ll be watching for the stroker build as I may want to go that route with my ‘68 Plymouth Belvedere to replace the tired ‘75 440 in there now...
This thing sounds so good. It might not be all polished up but it's still a beauty.
Car sounds awesome and looks wayyyyy better with that hood
Your dad would be so proud of you . This is realy cool.
Not sure he would approve of the Holley Carburetor 100% but yes he would be proud.

love the 68 charger i wonder what the differance in performance would be at the track
I like the stock hood and air cleaner....sounds like you have lumpy gas in her. lol
With a new intake and adding a carb spacer the carb definitely needs to be adjusted
@@Charger383Mopar It sounds Goooood.
Love the look of the bug catcher.

The bands themselves were out of adjustment. I readjusted them and it's all good now.

I could never get my intake bolts to insert with those paper gaskets so I just leave them out. Mistake? Is it for milled heads or something?
