Being a Floridian I don't every come across Smallies nor Spotted. However, seeing this great footage I can only imagine how many violations and/or warnings are served... Appreciate this information Brother.. 👊

I've been catching what appears to be large mouth ..ok but the mouth is very very noticably small ..they are not small mouth for sure . These bass also has a very noticable very short dorsal fin , it does not stretch as tall as usual. So idk they are not spots I love in Decatur IL..idk they are very noticably diffrent. Any ideas .

Isn't there a a difference in strains of largemouth also? Like a Florida and a northern or something like that?

There is a difference in strains but not to the level that it affects which ones you can keep. The different strains do not have different size limits, they all get lumped together as Largemouth.

Yes that particular large mouth was a northern strain. The Florida’s dorsal is slightly farther back and doesn’t look as pretty. Northerns live longer and are less temperamental. Florida’s get larger but do not live as long and are very temperamental.
