I like the idea of multiple horses at the same time, it looks small look at each other at the same time while excepting it

At first I found it weird(not cruel) to see a horse hobbled, but now I know what it is for I understand it.

One of my horses is a fence jumper. I wonder if wearing hobbles all the time would stop the practice? I'm at my wits end.

What no what if it spooks your horse is going to face plant and won't be Able to get up plus you want it to stay in the same place all day what kind of life is that?!

@@XTQ_Xena_princess Turns out he was not a jumper after all. He was bending down low and scooting under the fence in a couple of places where the wire was set too high, lol. I reset the wires and he hasn't gotten out again.

What do you think of horses being hobbled for long periods with zero supervision?

Bro, you are a very calm and handy horseman... Question.. Do you find it safer to hobble ABOVE or Below the fetlock? Personally, when I teach a hobble I go ABOVE to reduce the risk they may stab a hind foot over the top of the hobble... Love your work... What is your thought on this??

Just a quick question Ted, how long do you leave them on, if he is not resisting, also I will make a set of these hobbles, easy

@@HandyHorsemanOhio oh my- I would never take your advice this is so stupid, oh yeah restrict your horses movement until he is relaxed, RELAXED?! would you relax if someone tied your feet NO YOU WOULD NOT especially if it was a stranger or DIFFERENT SPECIES

@@XTQ_Xena_princess You know what’s even more stupid? NOT teaching a horse to relax while their legs are restricted. What if your horse gets their leg caught in a wire? My horse won’t panic, because she is hobble broke and she knows to stay calm. Your horse? Well if he gets caught, he’ll panic and severely injure himself, because his dumb owner decided that hobble training is cruel

I have 4-year-old horse that had supposedly 60 days of riding. Once on top of her she is fine and has a good headset and gives to the pressure of the bit. The problem is getting on her. To get on you need to pull her dead towards you since she gets very uptight about getting on. If you don't get her head she will buck. Would hobbling her and getting on and off help? What advice can you give me?

I always turn my horses head in while mounting it teaches them to hold still.

    • @catherq9461

Your horse is trying to tell your something, she could be in pain or discomfort! Or simple stressed and dont like getting the rider on since she affects the rider with something negative! Always check for pain, and if pain free use positive reinforcement to teach her that being mounted is fun and something positive...

The horse looks so sad. You are breaking the spirit of the horse. Their mind is that they do not wish to be controlled by humans.
