    That pedal modification is so smart. Will be doing that on all my cars

      Cheers! It's worth it, even for maintenance purposes later on...

    Great work mate. I will probably end up doing the same pedal mod on min as well.

      It depends if you plan on using the original type gasket, alternative you could make a shield from sheet metal. Plenty of time to go over these details during the dry build before paint

    Very skilled craftsmanship! I especially liked the use of machine fasteners for the brake reservoir bracket, although I wouldn't use threaded rivets, as they tend to loosen over time and spin with the bolt. Since there is enough space between the bracket and the inner fender, I would place a weld nut instead. Much more secure and OEM looking. Apart from that, very clever modification for the hydraulic clutch gearbox. RHD 105s were indeed a factory afterthought, which is evident from the different width of the floor pans, as well as the retention of standing pedals until the end of RHD production in 1980 with the last S2 Spiders.
    Onwards and upwards!

      Thanks for the great comment, I thought I'd use rivnuts since the reservoir and bracket weigh next to nothing. I usually weld nuts from behind on heavy duty stuff, but it was an excuse to use the kit :) I used them for the brake reservoir and bracket too just in case I change the set up later on to dual brake bias in the future, more on that in a future episode. I was surprised to learn that later Rhd cars had standing pedals too!

    Hi Geoff,
    Brilliant as usual, this really will be a beautiful car when it's finished, (if projects ever are, ☺️☺️)
    Loving the colour you've chosen,
    Stay safe,

    Excellent video. I learned several helpful things and now I have a guide to rebuilding my seat rails AND a great explanation of converting from cable to hydraulic clutch. One of my projects is a 66 Giulia TI that will get a 2.0 Nord. Always look forward to your clips. Greetings from Austin Texas. What color is the paint? Bluette? Looks great. Hope we see some info about how best to work in a makeshift paint booth and air filtration.

      Hi Steve, thanks for the great comment! The clutch conversion on Rhd cars is fairly straightforward however Left hand drive cars might be a little more complex since the have a different pedal housing. Take a few pics and see what parts match for the conversion, I'm pretty sure it's been done several times. The paint is indeed Bluette, At 506, more on that in the next episode. I used some thin plastic sheets to make chambers in the garage leaving the dusty areas out...worked well, just let the dust to settle for a bit...more on that in the next one too :)

      @@raisingjunior6389 Geoffrey, thanks for getting back to me. I'm rewatching some clips right now and it seems I missed 14 (?) battery tray. I especially enjoy seeing how you address issues, develop templates etc. Bluette is a great color-can't wait to see the finished car-take your time-you are doiong it right!!

      @@stevewuertz3598 Absolutely, the journey has been an interesting one so far, I think we first shown the battery tray in Ep 10, it just needed some finishing

    How are you manageing with the paint in the garage?. I painted mine like that and it was hell with the paint dust! Do you have an extraction system or did you seal the doors, when I did it I covered other cars with paint dust, its really great and a very nice colour!!

    • @raisingjunior6389
      @raisingjunior6389  3 роки тому

      On the first try I had some problems with dust, later on I used 2, large plastic sheets on everything side, washed the floor and painted as the floor was still wet. I used a vaccine cleaner instead of blowing dust in the air with a gun to remove dust left over from sanding. More on that in the next episode

      @@fractalrender wow...yes the colour coat is super sticky. I painted a large area in normal clothes and the paint stuck everywhere...I got a painter's suit after that

    boil the rubber grommet for the pedals and it will slip on much easier.

    • @raisingjunior6389
      @raisingjunior6389  2 роки тому

      I would but the size of this particular grommet is way too small to go over the pedal..you could tell it would split
