I really appreciate you mentioning me on your Sunday video. I like your simple style of videos taking us out in the snowy Finnish countryside. We haven’t had much snow like we usually do this year. A person has to go to the mountains to find it. I’ve carried a knife since I was 8 years old. As an adult I was given an antique two knife set by Brusletto that mother brought back for my father on one of her trips to Norway. I was hooked. Now I have many Helles, Kellams, Bruslettos, Woodsknives, BPS and Moras. Plus many fine folding knives. It is a disease. Love your beautiful content. Keep it up. 🎸🔪

Thank you for the nice words! And thanx for sharing your knife memories! I also was hooked at about the same age. I got a swiss army knife from my father as my first knife, and little after that a small edc type lappland puukko (a bit touristic) but I was damn proud. Hooked Ever since. For now well over 30 years.
Thanx for the support, and have an awesome day my friend!🌲🔪🌲🐺🌲

Congrats to you reaching 1000 subscribers. What brought me to your channel was my interest in knives and connecting to my Finnish heritage . My Grandfather and his parents came from Kankaanpaa, Finland around 1906 and settled in Upper Michigan. I wished I had taken more interest and asked about their history while they were alive but that is too late. I do have 4 of my grandpa's puukko knives which I cherish very much and will hand down to children. Thanks for you videos

I just always liked Canada . Though never visited. (I notice that in sporting events I often root for them) Though icehockey I dont like to see them in finals against us, because we always lose😂
My late father, was often speaking about a trip we should’ve done there. He was north dweller. And didnt like to go on vacations to south. Thats why places like Canada spoke to him. A bit like me😂
Thanx again so much for the support, and nice words!! Like I said many times, would have not keep on doing the channel without. May be a clichee, but just a fact.
(Btw. just realized when I watched the footage at home that there was an otter fishing at about 2:45. Didnt noticed it then. Very shy normally in these streams. I think the otter was thinking, you keep doing your thing, rambling I’ll just fish here some trouts meanwhile😂)

@@OldForestBushcraft Hockey is strange around here too, whenever the Finns are playing. Although we're Canadian, many people (including my family) find themselves torn between rooting for Canada and Finland. It's funny sometimes!
Your dad sounds like a great guy. I never vacation south either. Rather, I prefer to stay in and explore Canada. It's so huge (and empty) that you could literally spend a lifetime exploring and never see the entire thing, I think. I sometimes call Canada "The Big Empty" or "The Ice Box" but I LOVE my country and the people in it. We're much better than our current government displays, sadly.
All the best. Keep doing what you're doing, and you'll do well, I think. - Jeff

You know the Olympic gold in hockey Finns won in the last games , the country went absolutely beserks here. Sooo near, so many times, and finally.. (Canada won it like 100 times already, I know, lol😂)
"you could literally spend a lifetime exploring the thing and never see the entire thing"
      I can imagine!
Miss my dad a lot nowadays.
Learned a lot from him of nature. Being from the countryside, he was old school. Of foraging mushrooms (havent met many who knew so much), edible plants, fishing, etc. all sorts of things.

@@OldForestBushcraft Ilari, not to get too personal, but I miss my dad a lot too. He's been gone for a while, but I still 'see' him everywhere in some of his things that I have and in the way I model myself after him. He was an amazing outdoorsman and taught me to love the outdoors and everything in it - just like your dad did for you.
When Dad passed, he couldn't leave much to us three sons, but what he did leave (his knowledge, teaching and experience) was priceless, and I wouldn't trade that for all the money in the world!
You and I were the lucky ones. So many men these days are missing out on the things our fathers were able to give us.
Here's to our fathers, may they rest in peace. 🙏🏻

I want to give to my daughter many things I learned growing up. And amongst other things also the love for nature, the outdoors. This she has already. It is also with that I kind of want to honor my father. Of course he wasnt perfect, but a damn good role model in many aspects.
