Republicans on the other hand never, ever admit that one of their own has ever done anything wrong even when the proof is irrefutable. That is why no Republican is ever fit for office from the party that is currently the GOP. The corruption begins in our towns and cities. The mayors, city councilmen, law enforcement, District Attorneys, probate judges,etc. that cut their teeth on this sort of crime in their home town go on to become the riff-raff we now see sitting in the seats of our legislative branches in Washinton. These people didn't suddenly become corrupt when they landed in D.C.

Thomas received trips from a "friend", not illegal but can be unethical. This dem senator Menendez had 500k in cash and gold bars at his home. Where did he get it? Did he report it in his taxes? At the least he is guilty for tax fraud. What "friend" would give someone 500k in cash and gold for what? What is not mentioned is that Menendez skated on similar charges six years ago by virtue of a mistrial or hung jury. Evidently he thought he thought he could get away with it again.

Most states make it incredibly difficult and incredibly expensive just to have them recognize a new political party. That's why we mainly have two parties.
Personally, I'd love to see political parties done away with altogether. Otherwise, I'd like to see the Republican party become two separate parties: Maga and non-maga moderates, and the Democrats split into progressives and moderates.

The expense of getting on the ballot is getting all the necessary signatures and actually proving some popular support -- and the operative word there is "popular." Every presidential cycle there are dozens of people running for the presidency but most won't get on the ballot because they have zero popular support. Having to prove popular support is not a bad thing.
1. Make it mandatory for anyone holding an authority position in the government, to pass a brain scan to assess their ability for empathy.
2. Make them all pass a polygraph, once a year, to verify how they answer to questions regarding potential corruption.
It would benefit everyone, would bring more ressources to public institutions and infrastructures.

ALL members of Congress need to pass a high level security clearance. Candidates should pass a clearance and every candidate up for re-election. Having the FBI digging around and looking at your financials would discourage these types of actions.

I can only imagine what other crimes he's committed that the DOJ didn't charge. When the defendant is a prominent politician, they only charge what they can absolutely prove without any doubt. For regular folks, they stack the charges so one crime becomes four. There's no telling what all this couple has done.

The entire system needs an update, as we need money out of politics to truly have a free society, donations should go towards "the entire system" to benefit both political sides, ensuring there is no unfair competition, who can compete against people getting billions in donations?
