An interview with Pavel Steidl - one of the biggest names in a classical guitar world.
Pavel Steidl while on stage playing a concert, or in the master-class teaching a student, reminds without any doubt a buddhist monk, or the kung fu or taekwondo black belt master: he certainly can do things beyond one's expectations.
Watch today's one of the top classical guitarists in conversation with Guitar Magazine. Mr.Steidl talks about his teachers and roots: what made him like he is, what is his way of teaching and learning.
Shot in 2019 in Dzerzhinsk, Russia, during 'Russian and classical guitar' competition and festival.

A great storyteller and a fantastic guitarist with a unique approach to music. Very inspiring. Thanks.
I am really proud to know Mr Steidl in person. He is a great musician and a humble and kind gentleman.
Many thanks Pavel for sharing your intimate thoughts and feelings about your musical journey. Its rare indeed to hear such eloquent and honest speech from a master!
Un dels millors inspiradors i originals músics.❤
No wonder his musicianship is so beautiful. Such a beautiful humble soul.
They are such a great artist
thank you!
¡Rechazado 2 veces del conservatorio!
Villa-Lobos fue tachado de loco en su país y Segovia se burló de su música. Y ahora es uno de los compositores imprescindibles, interpretado por todos los guitarristas del mundo.
Grandioso Maestro Steidl!!!
I love you pavel !!!!
🙏🏻
I remember seeing this Czech player at a Dublin Guitar Festival about 15 years ago and I really enjoyed his performance, but I got the impression that some present in the audience seemed put off balance by his spontaneous enthusiasm in breaking into humming, or whatever, while playing instrumental music.
Wonderful! What is he playing in the opening? Thank you.
James, it is Suite in G-dur by Jan Antonius Losy.
Do you know what guitar Pavel is using in this video? Is it a Hauser model guitar?
