just received mine in the mail yesterday! can't wait to get under the truck to install it on my 2.7L Ecoboost. This is pretty much the only mod I will be doing to the exhaust.
@@irregularf150 I am just wondering because I did something similar to this on a pickup I used to own. And I started to get a drone at the interstate speeds that was annoying to the point you could hear it over the radio
@@timb3925 yeah i hear ya. Its all based on the person hearing of that particular sound area. Now going up hill at 2k rpm around 30-35 is where i hear a bit of drone. Not enough to bother me though. Im working on getting some more videos on my channel and im going to include a highway in cab one doing 65-75 mph areas. Just need to find time lol
@@irregularf150 I will try to find your channel and will watch for it. All the videos I can find seem to be windows down or taken from outside the truck, while that is important I need to live with it day to day.
If you have the v8 I recommend a muffler swap and keep the stock resonator if you want tame yet a good v8 sound. I’ve had two v8 f150s with cat back systems and no resonator which were way too aggressive and now I just have my stock system on my ‘19 5.0 with a magnaflow in place of the stock muffler. This is by far my favourite set up after almost 10 years and 2 trucks by trial and error. I was about to buy a resonator delete pipe and install it myself and instead had a shop do a muffler swap which included a fit test, try before you buy in the shop, picked the muffler I liked best before they welded it on, for less money than the resonator delete pipe would have cost. All that said I see the appeal and advantages of the delete pipe which is in theory reversible if it doesn’t seize on. Also the turbo trucks seems to sound pretty good with just a resonator delete but maybe that’s just compared to the ones that think a v6 will sound good with a borla atak!!
Great feedback! We agree that the resonator delete on it's own is somewhat of a subtle change, and we find that a lot of v6 and v8 owners are looking for something just like that. Our personal scale from quiet to loud goes: Stock Just resonator delete Just cat back / muffler Resonator Delete + Catback / Muffer Within that there is also a wide range depending on brand and such, so hopefully everyone can find the setup that works best for what they're after.
We find that the resonator alone doesn't have a very large impact on the overall loudness of the exhaust, especially at higher speeds where you have more road and wind noise. The biggest difference you'll notice is a deeper, fuller tone in the exhaust, and at idle it might be a little bit louder, but not much.
Has anyone installed these on the 21/22 5.0 trucks? Thinking of ordering one, had to return another companys becuase they are using the wrong end of the flange on their deletes.
Did you guys know that the 2023 and 2024 F150 Resonator end pipe on the muffler side has a button type on the end of it where the factory resonator locks into place .. if you need a video to show you .. please let me know .. I can post it on my channel ..
Yes, actually all of the 2010 and newer trucks use a pin-/twist lock feature on the resonator / muffler connection, but we opted for the simpler slip-joint design. Our resonator should to UP TO the pin (not on top of) and then clamped in place.
@@factionfab5834 ahhh!! Oh ok, I was just making sure since I ordered one for my 2024 F150 3.L crew cab 145 size option … I will be posting a video on my channel as well .. thanks for the info .. 👍🏼🥃🇺🇸
So I just recieved my delete pipe and it's a few inches shorter then the old resonater. I know my wheelbase is 145 and that's what I ordered. I have less then half an inch going into there clampable side before tightening the flange bolts. Can't figure out if im doing something wrong or it's just to short. Any suggestions?
The FactionFab delete pipe is designed to be a little bit shorter since it does not go past the rotating locking pin like the OEM does, however there should still be plenty to secure it. It is common for the muffler portion to have shifted on the hangers to sit farther back on the truck than it was in stock position. You may need to pull the mufflers forward to close a gap at the resonator connection. If you are still having trouble after this, email us at sales@factionfab.com and we will explore other possibilities.
The pipe diameter is the same for the 5.0 and 3.5L engine, however there are some differences between the 2010-2014 and 2015+ models, and the wheel base would also need to be taken into consideration. We have all the models listed on our website if you want the specifics.
We havent test fit on the 3.6, but its the same for the 5.0 and the 3.5EB. if you want to email us at sales@factionfab.com with the length info of your stock unit, we can confirm.
Yes actually, this truck had a whipple supercharger with supporting mods. However the exhaust was still completely stock prior to install and this is an accurate representation of the sound on a stock 5.0 as well.
FactionFab ok thanks I have heard other resonator delete videos and they didn’t sound anything like the how yours did definitely gave it a nicer sounding rumble and tone
We have them for the 2.7 EB, 3.5 EB, 5.0 and 6.2. About the only applications we currently are not supporting are the Non-EcoBoost V6 and nothing yet for the 2nd gen Raptor
We are not aware of any direct Canadian distributors and usually send all international buyers to Stage 3 Motorsports as they do ship to Canada and other countries.

We feel it's the only mod necessary. Keeps the truck civil while driving, but opens it up to give those WOT pulls a satisfying growl!
Did it and I like the sound. Sounds better than stock!
Glad you like it :)

How loud is it in the cab when running at interstate speed?
