The two actors did a great job at channeling the primal horniness of man and woman. You don't need to understand the language to know what they're saying 😆

without understanding a word, the whole scene made clear what the lyrics are about ...

"What do you want from me?" said the farmer's daughter.
"I need to water my steed at your... 'wine-trought'," said Bósi.
"Where is your steed, my sweet?" she said.
"Between my legs, my love," he said, "and you may stroke him, but gently... since he is very shy."
"I'll guide him there," said she, and thrust him deep... if he's too shy to drink."
She took hold of Bósi's shaft and stoked it.
"It is a lively steed, although rather... stiff at the neck."
You can find an extended scene on the blu-ray with subtitles.

One of my favorite scenes in the movie. Such a naturally wild feeling to it.

This scene is beautiful yes but did you know it was stolen from a much older Swedish silent film? It reveals a big secret about the movie.

Fact: They are singing a verse from Bosa's saga, specifically a quite detailed description of Bosa's sexual encounter with a farm girl.

What struck me the first time watching this movie was how I knew exactly what they were singing about without understanding a single word. You could feel the energy being stirred through the dance and song. Creating a soup of lust and desire that was palpable to this American Christian. Made me feel dirty to even watch it. This movie and director doesn’t receive enough credit

I THOUGHT THIS SCENE WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL BECAUSE IT REALLY HIGHLIGHTED THE IDEA THAT THE YOUTH SHOULD RESPECT THE ELDERLY, RATHER THAN LEARN FROM THE MAN THEY'RE PARTYING, SQUANDERING WHAT PRECIOUS TIME IS LEFT THEY HAVE WITH HIM..."Stop, I can teach you how to pour iron or bronze clad your weaponry..." so instead🐺lupe

They are singing about sex, its from the Bósa Saga, the part where he seduces a farmers daughter to sleep with him. They speak about sex but they use horses and stables as metaphor. That’s why they make horse noises while dancing.
