- Hey All! Today we testing the Compatibility between the latest version of Pro Tools which is (2021.3.1) and Mac's Newest Developer Beta of Mac OS 12 Monterey.

Stop using your internal hard drives to install Pro Tools, buy an external SSD, format the external, install the Mac O.S. that is fully compatible on the external SSD and then install Pro Tools and your 3rd party plugins on the external as well. You can choose to always boot up from your external drive in system preferences or as a choice between internal or external. There are videos that show you guys and gals how to boot up from an external SSD drive. I hope this helps everyone 🙏 it solved my problem. I did a lot of homework and research. Enjoy!
Start Pro Tools Normally while holding down shift, this will disable plugins(90% of crash reasons.)
Then Save copy in (creates new session) try to use different hard drive if possible.
could try changing playback engine.
if session opens you could hit Control+Command+click to check plug ins on each channel (freeze on each channel) Comm+S I believe.
start new session, go to file +import session data, import by groups, drums, guitar... give time for plug ins to load.
if works still use the freeze method!! unfreeze to change plug in setting then refreeze.

Man my Mac updated to Monterey for some reason and now pro tools won’t even open. It just bounces on the dock and nothing happens. 🤦🏽♂️
How have they not patched this yet? Pro Tools still not working on my 2018 Macbook Pro. I check the avid update page daily and it's always the same old "Not yet supported". Seriously...
My protools open can record and mix but get randomly crash it my be a click on trying to mute a travk whatever 🤯 using protools 22,5
I'm having issues as we speak. Running PT. Intro 2023.12 on Monterey.. it opens sometimes crashes and all
protools won’t open for me on my m1, it stalls at loading «elastic audio».
Where can I buy that back wall fabric with lights in it?
I updated to Monterey today pro tools and all other daws and plugins work fine🤷🏾♂️

I was excited thinking something changed but then I saw the date on the video. After downloading protools two days ago I saw it was unsupported on Monterey wont go there with the plugins aren't supported. Unfortunately downgrading just for Protools seemed like a hassle. Again my mighty old windows Optiplex came to the rescue (btw, my 2018 Windows is a lot faster than whatever you are using). It may be Windows 10 and it maybe older but it runs Pro-tools and all its plugins fine ...more than I can say for my Mac book pro.

Ive just tried loading PRO TOOLS 2020.12 on latest OS MONTEREY 12.1 on MAC MINI M1 (2020) and it poerfectly works! However my main MAC PRO is a 5,1 (2010) and the interface in UA APOLLO FW so I have to try to connect that somehow. None of the plugins are installed into the M1 machine and the basic PT works as normal

@@djgalawak you can try loading a free PT FIRST edition of the late version and if it works then yes
PT is working good with avid plugins andf instruments on monterey mac m1 ;) best vibes
