Damn I remember watching this dude in Pocketnow back in the day where he was showcasing his homescreen setups on his Nexus 4. Now we cross paths again on a different topic years later, good to see a familiar face!
This is what I love about watches. The love of them from all different walks of life. You look at this dude, see the beard and see the hat, then you think this guy is a natural all woods kinda guy….what does he know about watches? THEN BAM!! He rips out an impressive collection of watches, one being the Lorier Neptune which I’m actually looking for (actually I’ll take the Neptune and the Gemini). From the Christopher Ward to the Marathon, to the Lorier to the Oris! He just keeps pulling out bangers. Great video and beautiful collection.
This collection is so refreshing to see. So many new collectors fall into the habit of buying what others say they should buy instead of what stands out to them. I love it. Subscribed
The Seagull 1963 is a great option for a mechanical chronograph (hand-wound). You can pick one up for $200 or less, with sapphire, display caseback, and in either 38 or 42.
Oris give you everything you need and nothing you don't. All killer no filler. My 65 is probably my most worn timepiece even amongst other premium timepieces, which speaks volumes.
I was very anti-watch and then finally broke and gave it a chance. I’m really digging it now. I went with a minimalist style one from Burei. now there’s like three or four from them I want to get. And I don’t even have feel bad about spending the money on them because they’re all around 25-30 dollars.
Taylor...you are officially a "watch guy". You've crossed over and joined a new club. I recall some of your original watch excursions that were a little novice which is fine. But YOU are now in. Good job.
Again thank you, I have a Vostok with a acrylic crystal and love it so I have a Seagull 1963 with a acrylic on the way. For me acrylic looks so much nicer, especially on old school watches...
I want a watch that is rugged, functional and shock proof oh and keeps time with an attached compass that works. People with too much money and time on their hands are only ever temporarily satisfied and never get it ain’t what you got, it’s who you are that counts. Continue looking outside for whats only found within!
Dude this is crazy I’ve been watching you for like a year or so and just got into watches like I just got a citizen and then you upload this and the whiskey knife fight you did too.
Love my Damasko DC66. It's almost my daily wear watch and it doesn't have a nick on the case. Not a single nick. Oh, if you get the DC67, you have a choice of GMT or timing bezel. I opted for the GMT bezel and I use it all the time.
Congrats on your watch journey. Really like the panda dial. Smaller watches are great. No excess heft and smaller case are very comfortable, especially in very hot weather being the southwest. +1 on the Speedmaster
That Marathon to Junghans segue hit home. I recently ordered an MSAR and am still waiting on delivery. In the meantime, I've become enamoured by the Max Bill Chronoscope and I've historically disliked both divers and chronographs.
You hit all the best stuff here. I want every piece in this collection. like I've almost bought just about every piece here. and am planning on buying a few of them... beautiful taste, wonderful eye for classic forms.
Great video! I wanted to offer my $.02 on the Speedmaster Professional hesalite from someone who has owned it and sold it. First off, it's a great watch with a lot of presence and history. Loved those aspects. Didn't care for the fact that the WR rating left me not wanting to get it wet and the newer bracelet with the screw links has very little adjustment in the way of half links or micro positions. This leaves many doing clasp retrofits from other models. Pretty ridiculous on a $5200 watch retail. I'd go used if I were to do it again and go for a model 3570.50.00 which has the pinned bracelet.
1st video from the new Best Damn Watch channel. Very nice SOTC, Taylor. Can’t wait to see your take on the Zelos. Big difference between the Horizons GMT and a bronze Hammerhead.
If you wear it on the bracelet, get a seamaster clasp, you jet the quick ajust like on the rolex submariner, the watch gets 10 times more confortable...
I love my Seiko tuna it’s a perfect tool watch. excellent watch collection u definitely u spent a lot of time researching these more obscure watch brands. Respect
Hey Taylor, Love your collection and it looks like you have narrowed down to a specific style of watches you like. LOL I love your answer and that shot for 'Why didn't you buy a Sinn?' 12:56 Because I wanted a Damasko. I been struggling with that question for so long, they both are so identical to me that I can't choose yet. Glad you find a good differntiator between those two and know what you like, I wish to have that clarity someday about watches I like. I end up buying something I think I like (I do like them at that moment) then after wearing them for few months I realise I like this watch but theres something off and I go on a spree of finding something I might like. 20:25 You should checkout Tudor Pelagos's bracelet, the bracelet flexibility is beautifully done.
You have good taste. A lot of people follow the hype. All of these are unique and not the first or second you'd get in each category (field, dive, aviation)
Love the TSAR! Kinda wish I gotten the 41mm instead of the 36mm. Was afraid it be too small. Don't get me wrong, its small but it doesn't appear as small as it truly is. Next one will be a 41mm GSAR auto for sure!
For leather straps, you should check out Two Stitch Straps...they are amazing and you can order the strap to your own custom measurements...they even do great vintage straps...I recently bought an Yema Rallygraf...I wanted it to look like the old school Yema with their distinctive rally straps...Two Stitch Strap made one up for me custom order and all, you can even choose your own stitch color...I highly recommend you check them out for a leather strap for your Christopher Ward.
Good selection of watches. I too am partial to the military/field/utility watches. I like that your giving these “Microbrands” some love. If you get a chance, try to get a Serica. It would fit right into your wheelhouse.
I recently became enamoured with it as well. Historically, I didn't care much for chronographs because I generally prefer a central, running seconds hand and I didn't like having subdials. Contrast that against my idea that Bauhaus-style watches were a little too minimalistic for my tastes; the Chronoscope seems to strike a balance that I didn't know I liked until I saw it.
That TSAR is a tank of a watch. Recently swapped out the nato strap on my gsar back to the stock bracelet and now its my version of a submariner but on steroids
I'm surprised you don't have any Hamilton watches, it's an American company that's now Swedish owned by the Swatch company. I just got my Oris Big Crown and love it. It's one I wanted for a while. For a dress watch you should checkout the Orient Bambino line, great watches.
Love the video ... I got into watches because of my great grandfather ... When he died I got his Seiko Quartz dress watch ... Since then I have collected 4 Seikos (GMT 7002 Pepsi, Solar Batman, UFO Automatic and DigiTuna) ... My next purchase will be a Seiko Arnie ... Keep up the content!
As a watch collector who dabbles in EDC, I wasn't expecting to see this quality of collection. You have fantastic taste! I just bought the CW C65 Trident GMT (with the Pepsi). How do you like yours? Did you ever find a perfect leather strap for it?
Unfortunately I have to agree about the jarring boldness of the white font Christopher Ward branding on the dial. I wish the placement, font and color were more subtle. That put me off from making a CW Moonglow purchase a while back.
Sweet spots are individual. Everyone desires, wants, needs and budgets are very different. For me, I went from many watches, including some expensive ones, to 3 watches that are high quality luxury products and one cheapo beater watch worth $500 that if I smash it or lose it, I could care less. Others want 50 seiko watches as their collection sweet spot. For any person who collects valuable timepieces, the issue becomes insurance and storage. If you are going to own 3 watches worth maybe $50 grand, you better have the right insurance on them and to keep changing pieces like underwear, becomes a hassle with your underwriter. Trust me, I know.
Excellent review and nice collection BTW. I can't wait until you sell all those watches and become a one watch man. You are in stage two of this one watch man. It's hard and expensive, but you figure it out. Find your " holy grail" and go for it. For me it was the Rolex Submariner no date. Good luck.
Im a total watch nerd. I wear a hesalite speedy all the time and the crystal is fine. Little polywatch once a year and your good. Dont get into the watch hobby it costs crazy money. I also collect Firearms which can also get expensive but watches is a way more expensive hobby. I Can't wait till i get my Lorier Gemini. Im supposed to get mine by the end of the month according to Lorier.
I've gone through 2 dozen watches in the last year from Casio to Sinn to Rolex and beyond. One of my favorites is the $150 Citizen Promaster Diver shown in your video...legible, tough, never needs battery change, accurate, steam punk aesthetics, etc. Waiting for the updated Damasko DA47 which has a full lume dial, bidirectional bezel, and day of week...could be the end of my watch journey hopefully. I agree with you about learning what you like...I thought I wanted fancy watches, but what I really wanted was a rugged, low maintenance, spartan tool watch with crazy lume and arabic numerals.
Loved the video. Have loved watches forever just never really got into collecting them till recently but I am starting at a way lower price scale than these lol. 👍
Try the Seiko Tuna 300M marinemaster versions. Probably the king of the quartz tool watch genre and with legendary history and legacy. You won't regret it. And oh- the lume is incendiary and just unbeatable.
Looking at your collection you should definitely look at Sinn. I have a 556 I RS myself and I think you would love them. I know you mentioned you have already looked at them but their technologies are amazing.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I liked the original band on the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Movember edition better. I know it's now for everyone but it's a cool taking point when asked about it. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
I like the lorier neptune only problem is i don't know which cor variation i like best the navy white or the black and gilt. Does the christopher ward have a screw down crown?
Wish I kept all my old Casios that I had throughout Highschool. I'd like to give them to my kids. Think my old man threw them out years ago. Still have an old Tissot chrono I bought round 20 years ago, Seiko 5, Seiko spb079 & a Rolex Airking. I might sell the spb079 to get a Seiko Arnie for nostalgia. I'm a huge Arnie fan & need to have that watch.
I'm going down the same watch rabbit hole you're sliding down. I'm waiting for the new Omega Speedmaster that'll be out later this month (Sept 2020). I'll get the hesalite version and make it my daily do anything (except water activity) watch.
Me too. Just got into watches about a month ago. And because of the lockdowns, I have been saving quite some monies from hang outs and night life so it makes me feel less guilty.
Ah seems like you've really got bitten by the watch bug! Nice to see some variety compared to other youtubers. The CW and Oris are great picks in my opinion.
Thank you very much for your insight on Jomashop. My first expensive 'for me' watch was a Tissot. The watch was lost in the mail and Jomashop dragged their feet to resolve it. Their prices are very good but I try to avoid buying from the.....
(asked below but not answered) What watch are you wearing at the beginnning with the white face? I did a screencapture and tried pixel-peeping but too low-res couldn't figure it out. Thanks!!
Damn I remember watching this dude in Pocketnow back in the day where he was showcasing his homescreen setups on his Nexus 4. Now we cross paths again on a different topic years later, good to see a familiar face!
WOW! I knew his voice was familar!
This is what I love about watches. The love of them from all different walks of life. From the Christopher Ward to the Marathon, to the Lorier to the Oris! He just keeps pulling out bangers. Great video and beautiful collection.
This is by far the best practical, streamlined, and attainable collection I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing!
That ChronoScope is INSAAAAANE!
Looks like an Atomic Age television. In space.
Oris give you everything you need and nothing you don't. All killer no filler. My 65 is probably my most worn timepiece even amongst other premium timepieces, which speaks volumes.
I love the Lorier Neptune. I have been collecting watches for years, and the Neptune is a keeper.
Well it's begun... I just ordered a Bulova Hack for my starter watch. I'm already setting my sights on the next one!
Don’t worry about plexiglass. I own a 1940s Longines and 1980s Vostok and they both have it. If you scratched it it’s easy to polish
All I’ve got is a Seiko SNK809 on a vintage leather strap and a modded Casio Gshock square. They work for me right now. Great collection!
That Christopher ward with a metal bezel is amazing.
I was very anti-watch and then finally broke and gave it a chance. I’m really digging it now. I went with a minimalist style one from Burei. now there’s like three or four from them I want to get. And I don’t even have feel bad about spending the money on them because they’re all around 25-30 dollars.

It's been a DAMN long wait for this video.

The finishing on that Damasko looks so clean! Then I saw the price 🙃
The new Seiko srpe is the coolest watch ever and it’s only €230. Should check it out. Love you Lorier. I have the falcon. Great watches.
Very nice collection, Taylor! I love that Christopher Ward. I recently got a Squale GMT with the same movement; it’s running +3 sec/day.
You hit all the best stuff here. I want every piece in this collection. like I've almost bought just about every piece here. and am planning on buying a few of them... beautiful taste, wonderful eye for classic forms.

I just picked up my first speedmaster. I recommend it. It is a fine, fine timepiece.
If you wear it on the bracelet, get a seamaster clasp, you jet the quick ajust like on the rolex submariner, the watch gets 10 times more confortable...
Kind of boring and bulky though
Thank you for doing these videos and everything you and your team does for this channel and the EDC community. Wonderful content and info!
I love my Seiko tuna it’s a perfect tool watch. excellent watch collection u definitely u spent a lot of time researching these more obscure watch brands. Respect
Hey Taylor, Love your collection and it looks like you have narrowed down to a specific style of watches you like.

Watch Gecko makes amazing leather (and other material) straps for a great price and unbelievably quick shipping from the UK.
I find lots of the straps I got from them are really long. 7.25" and usually have to wear theirs on the 2nd or 3rd smallest hole.
Great content Taylor. I had NO Idea this channel existed. Been a fan since your days with PN... **SUBSCRIBED**
Don’t hesitate brotha! Get that speedmaster, you won’t regret. Great video!
Indeed go for the 42mm hesalite one and call it a day.
Agreed. It's best to go for the grails and not pad your collection with cheaper watches you think you want. Follow your heart.
Love the TSAR! Kinda wish I gotten the 41mm instead of the 36mm. Was afraid it be too small. Don't get me wrong, its small but it doesn't appear as small as it truly is. Next one will be a 41mm GSAR auto for sure!
That citizen diver is sweet!!! 😍 the quality for the $ is top notch
I love the anthrocite dial on the chronoscope. Reminds me of an old Breightling for some reason.

Think I just fell In love with that chronoscope

Love the Oris, but also massively impressed by the Marathon.

I had a Hamilton. It was nice but just didn’t move me.
Cool collection! Suits your style, cheers!

Seiko is the way to go in my opinion. Superb quality control, great durability etc. I have a SPB087 and a SLA033.
You have entered the rabbit hole. Great collection!
Nice collection, Really like the Oris and Damasko.
As a watch collector who dabbles in EDC, I wasn't expecting to see this quality of collection. You have fantastic taste!
I just bought the CW C65 Trident GMT (with the Pepsi). How do you like yours? Did you ever find a perfect leather strap for it?
I have it with steel on black. I couldn’t decide between Pepsi or black. I might have to get another.
Amazing collection. Very different from the usual watches like seiko, citizen, rolex, omega, etc etc. Excellent. I loved it.
Wonderful watch collection! I think you have good taste in watches, and I love how you explain every single one. Wear them in good health!
Unfortunately I have to agree about the jarring boldness of the white font Christopher Ward branding on the dial. I wish the placement, font and color were more subtle. That put me off from making a CW Moonglow purchase a while back.
haven't seen you for ages Taylor sine pocketnow times. Watches are as fun as smartphones!
Urban Gentry has some good info in watches. He is on you tube also.
Chuffed to bits.. ok Chao
Mike D Bark and Jack is almost entirely about Rolex. Definitely not the best for general watch enthusiasts
@@MPD90 Agree. I unsubbed a while back when it seemed to become more about his personna than watches.
Mike D I watch his vids all the time. His content is Rolex heavy
@@Ferien7 Yep. I seem to find watches out of my league a lot. No matter what channel its on.
A four piece collection with a beater watch is the sweet spot imo
Diver
Dress
Sport chrono
Black on black
Sweet spots are individual. Everyone desires, wants, needs and budgets are very different. For me, I went from many watches, including some expensive ones, to 3 watches that are high quality luxury products and one cheapo beater watch worth $500 that if I smash it or lose it, I could care less.

Nice compact capsule collection for rotation! Impressed with your restraint 😎💕🎈✊
Very good collection! Liked it a lot.

I like the Damasco more as well . Tudor Black Bay 58 could be your next purchase. pretty sick watch
The thing with tapered bracelet is the head feels top-heavy. The straight bracelet feels more balanced.
Absolutely love the new direction in your collection 💕
Bro those are some big wrists. You gotta rock the bigger sizes. The marathon jumbo 46 would be good on you.
Loved the video. Have loved watches forever just never really got into collecting them till recently but I am starting at a way lower price scale than these lol. 👍

Looking at your collection you should definitely look at Sinn. I have a 556 I RS myself and I think you would love them. I know you mentioned you have already looked at them but their technologies are amazing.
Your TSAR ended up in good hands :)
Great video, and you have good taste. Keep up the great work brother !
Archieluxury says you need ROLEXXXX!
If you thought the knife game was expensive, brother, you're in for pain buying and collecting watches.
Man on the (insert swear word here) MMMOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNN!!
This is true. I started with knives, then to guns, now to watches. Watch prices laugh at knife prices.
Can you also place links for straps?
You should try out the duxot maris👌🏽 it's beautiful and I use it as a daily, working on snowmobiles, cars, and still looks amazing!
Awesome watch collection buddy 🤝
You're getting closer but you need to take the next step and get the Omega Speedy.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
I liked the original band on the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Movember edition better. I know it's now for everyone but it's a cool taking point when asked about it.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
I just got into watches and the Gemini I think is my favorite
I like the lorier neptune only problem is i don't know which cor variation i like best the navy white or the black and gilt. Does the christopher ward have a screw down crown?
You mentioned an older video with some entry level watches. Do you have a link; I’d love to watch that. Looked through your videos but didn’t see it.
May I suggest a BB58. Very versatile and can take a beating. It is may EDC along with my old Casio 6600 and 36mmMarathon quartz diver.
Wish I kept all my old Casios that I had throughout Highschool. I'd like to give them to my kids. Think my old man threw them out years ago. Me too. Just got into watches about a month ago. And because of the lockdowns, I have been saving quite some monies from hang outs and night life so it makes me feel less guilty.
Any suggestions from the group on an all black field watch? Preferably sub $100 maybe $150?
Great video 😁👍
And love your videos btw! Keep up the great work.
love the oris so classy
Love your damasko watch dc58
Ah seems like you've really got bitten by the watch bug!
Nice to see some variety compared to other youtubers. The CW and Oris are great picks in my opinion.
Oh damn Taylor Martin from PocketNow back in the day 😂 what a pleasant surprise from the YT algorithm gods…
What a blast from the past. I just had a phone call with Brandon Miniman and a text convo with Michael Fisher this week
Awesome video, im finally getting into watch collecting.
I just bought a new casio mrw200h. I want to get the Citizen Pro-Master Diver with Eco-Drive. My collection is huge lol.
Great looking collection! Thanks for the video
I prefer acrylic/plexiglass much more over mineral due to polywatch being able to take any nick or scratch right out. Doesn't work on mineral.
Great collection 👍🏻
I have two Christopher Ward's. They are really great watches. Both of mine have only the logo not the wording
Love the Damasko!
It’s funny, it always seems to be a chrono to kick it off for a lot of people.
