Fix Dad’s watch. It’s you best watch. Followed by the Tuna. The story is the best part and family stories are the best. And the shared watch is awesome for your son. Get your names engraved or something like that. A father and son watch is extra special. (I love Rolex, they’re so classic and great, but the family connection is so special.
Agreed. I love the aesthetics of mechanicals though. I bought a TH Formula 1 Red Bull a few months ago on a cruise then immediately bought the same watch as you. Charging my samsung every 24 hours was annoying. But the functions of the Garmin is fantastic. Only wish it had the In Reach SOS feature.
Amazing collection, honestly somewhat jealous. Here are some things I noticed that might make them more enjoyable in the future though: 1:30 a likely reason why the khaki took in condensation, well two really, was that the screw down crown was open or the caseback. I know because I was a bold person who changed their watch’s time in the pool and now I have paid dearly. Another thing 2:55 is a reason the seiko tuna is hard to wear is because the watch is too far up your wrist, typically it is behind the wrist bone. Same thing at 6:40 7:39 Nice, never knew such a thing existed. Pocket watches are beautiful and have immense history. Something you might be interest is a West Clox or Bell Watches. They have immense history in american train conducting. Regardless, beautiful collection and want to see it grow. Cheers ProHo
So true, Cody! I hate watches that require a charge. Complicated. I wear an ARES, Diver 1, mechanical. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Great collection. Btw, that Rolex Sub, gold is over $20G used. Don’t lose it!
I recently got into watches and by far my favorite is my casio pro trek. 380 dollars. Multi band 6 and tough solar so it is always accurate and charged. It has so many features to where I could see a proho finding day to day use with it. 10/10 recommend since it is designed for outdoors.
My uncle Paul has had a submariner for the last 35-40 years. I have wanted one since the first time he let me wear it when I was 8 or 9 years old. I have never bought one but it has been the pinnacle of my watch desire. Maybe when I retire in 20 years I’ll treat myself to one.
You really have to try a G-Shock my friend. Durability and functionality it's the most proho watch you can have. I have many watches of many kinds but when I'm actually doing something tough I always am wearing some version of a Casio.
I recommend any of the G-Shock that are radio synced to the atomic clock (multi-band) and are solar-powered literally indestructible, maintenance free, and always on time
It’s your money. If you like it have at it brother! I’m a watch guy to and I picked up an Omega a couple of years back and caught hell for it from guys who would gladly pay way more than I did for what they wanted. Have at it Brother!!!!
I'm having my great grand pops and great uncles pocket watched overhauled and rebuilt due to this video. Grandads pocket watch is an Elgin brand American made in Illinois. I believe it's from the 1940s, not earlier. My great uncle's pocket watch is a Waltham brand, American made in Massachusetts. Not the date on when it was made, though. Hope to get them both running and working correctly.
I’m with ya on the cuffs. Been a roll up gloves guy always. Can’t wear jewelry. Wear the ring once in awhile. Several watches that sit in the drawer. Although I have been wearing an Apple Watch lately 😮
Oh man I love my Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire! Crazy good battery. I charge once every couple weeks. It’s definitely a fitness watch, though. Mainly good for running/cycling and health monitoring. It’s a great tool.
My parents gave me my grandfathers pocket watch, which they bought for him Christmas of 1980. I was named after my grandfather. It doesn't see a whole lot of usage but definitly one of my favorites.
Only things to critique about this video are: I wish you would have the camera non-mirrored so that the watches looked like how you see them yourself. The other thing I wish was done are maybe some B-Roll of the watches up close to see the watch faces, cases, stems, and watchband or bracelet (if they are original to the watch). Beyond that though, I appreciate you taking the time to put out a video of your watches. It is a fascinating topic and Watches that I do not own currently but look forward towards getting are: Citizen Homer Second Setting Japan Railway watch 21 Jewels Seiko Prospex Spring Drive GMT Hamilton (not sure on model yet, but it would need to be one of the old military looking models and I prefer mechanical over quartz) IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XV Automatic (1998-1999) 21 Jewels
My wife bought me a used 36 mm two-tone Rolex for our wedding day which is my favorite item in the world. We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and she had bought me a brand new 41 mm two-tone Wimbledon dial Rolex datejust. The best part is that I got to go to the dealers office and take delivery personally with a bottle of champagne. I wear these watches every single day of my life...one or the other.
I have been wearing a Casio Pathfinder PAW-5000-1 a lot lately. Solar and atomic time with ABC functions that do not require a phone connection. Found it NOS at Goodwill for $100. I put a tempered glass crystal protector on it to protect the mineral glass.
Hamilton makes some of the absolute best watches you can buy for the money. If it doesn’t have a screw down crown, swimming is a bad idea regardless of what the water resistance may or may not be. If you want a watch to swim with you oughta make sure it has a screw down crown.
I have a few, newest one is a Casio Oceanus 200-SB, amazing thing, I love it. A pile of older Seikos, I love them dearly. An SKX that I bought as my first mech watch and inherited many quartz dress watches. Currently putting a little away for a Rolex Air-King. Dad always loved the brand, don't know what happened to his so I want to buy one as a little reminder on the wrist. Glad you sis this video! Also amazing to have as thoughtful as a lovely wife as Mrs. W to think of you like that. The tuna is fantastic! I have a reproduction of the 70's mechanical model.
Some lovely watches. I really need to get batteries put into the ones I have that are all dead. I normally hate wearing any watch, but I can't deny the style factor.
amzwatch You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
My top 3 from latest to oldest: Seiko SBGA413 aka the Shunbun with the pink dial, bought on my first trip to Japan with the family last year. Marathon GSAR grey maple, gift from my parents reminding me of my Canadian heritage. Tudor BB58, bought with my wife while traveling Europe. All of them have special meaning. Been obsessing over a Explorer too and I think that one should be for my 50th bday too.
I was anti smartwatch for years. I got one and I actually love it. I also have one that only needs a charge about once every two weeks. But I can't lie, I do loathe the proprietary charger that must be used with it!
That happens when you film with the front camera on your phone. It's an easier filming experience if you're looking at a mirror image rather than the actual camera view.
If your watch is flopping around on your wrist, then you need to take the time to adjust the band...the band should be snug enough on you wrist to firmly hold your watch in place no matter how big or heavy it is...when i discover this, i started to wear all my large size seikos comfortably...by the way your Tuna is a beautiful iconic watch in the seiko line.
received my grandpas 21 jewel railroad pocket watch from when he worked on the L&N in Indiana. My older cousin got his main one that I'm assuming was worth a little more and he liked more but that's just what comes with being the youngest grandkid
Nice collection! I like my Garmin Instinct, it’ll go 1-4 weeks (depending on logging my rucks), the LCD screen makes it last longer. But I agree on the charging, I wish I got the solar version.
That Seiko Conductor though! I also have a small wristwatch collection and have been in the mood to revisit pocket watches. My current favorite is whatever I’m wearing today! Love my old school Seiko 5s from before the rebrand.
I’d love to see a video on the state of your collection of denim and wool clothing. I know you started with sugar cane and have moved on to iron heart, but maybe we can do a deeper dive and learn more about those brands and some solid entry level alternatives.
Ah man, there's something about tool watches that just makes me happy. I've also got a Marathon CSAR, and it's indestructible. The grail for me is the Sinn UX, simply because it's so hilariously overbuilt. 5,000m diving depth is utterly useless to me, but man is it cool.
My fenix 7 lasts 18 days. Barely charge it 2 times a month. I’m with you. I can’t take the charging. That’s why I choose Garmin over Apple. I can deal with 18+ days charge. Can’t beat a Rolex tho.
For less expensive option , i loved my kinetic seiko back in the day but broke it , i do have a nice gold citizen nighthawk its solar and real sweet actually , i rememeber sitting on grandpas lap watching baseball games my grandpa always wore a citizen watch . I do have a gold pocket watch pretty sweet too , that rolex explorer is pretty nice !
Well Cody, because of your watch appreciation I bought an Orient Kamasu JDM in green, of course I put a NATO band on it. I love this watch, and it has been worn everyday and abused a bit, but it keeps on. Cheers! PS I too looked hard at “Smart Watches “ too, but the recharging and the software obsolescence just put me off.
I have several great watches, but my favorite is still the Marathon gsar onnthe bracelet. It's just the perfect watch to me. I also have a Seiko skx011j on a super engineer bracelet that I love to wear when I want to be a little fancy.
I have some expensive watches but being a working man my Casio gw 2310 it’s solar, and atomic self setting time. Mine is 13 years old and works perfectly! Love my solar seiko dive watches too!
The Rolex Explorer is a cracking 50th gift, its on my list too !! For beating around the farm i have the Casio MRW200 , its only around 20USD on Amazon and it can take a beating, although the factory strap will not last long. I like your Nato straps too Cody.
My EDC is the Seiko Sport 5 SNK805 with 7S26 movement. It was a thought full gift for my dear wife and I wear it everyday. I have other watches Citizens and others, but... Green dial.
I wear a tuna all the time working and motorcycle riding. It actually wears quite small compared to its dimensions. A very tough watch for sure. But im not running chainsaws all the time. I do a lot of construction/farm type work.
I’ve had a couple smart watches and my garmin instinct is by far my favorite watch I charge it once every 2 weeks never lets me down has some basic and advanced features
I also have a Garmin Fenix sapphire (6th edition) I think yours is the 5. I get about 2 weeks on a charge. The latest model now has solar so I think charging is becoming less of an issue, but I’m right there with you about the proprietary charger. It certainly beats the Apple Watch, which only gets a couple days per charge.
Picked up a Seiko “King Turtle” PADI addition earlier this year. Such a great watch! I dig the pocket watch but I have “a phobia” to stuff in my pockets.
Love mechanical watches myself, I have quite a few with the Seiko NH35 movement and I really enjoy them. I agree the Hamilton should be more durable for the price. They should have made it with a screw down crown. A tool watch should be able to be submerged.
Hard to beat a Rolex Explorer, but then there’s the Tudor Ranger that’s pretty slick as well. The Ranger doesn’t come backed with the Rolex marketing history though… I’m of the opinion that the Rolex Explorer II w/ GMT function may be the greatest EDC watch ever made. 🤷🏻⏱️🤙🏻
A watch recommendation I suggest for the modern proho would be the Casio Protrek line of watches. They are durable and come with many options and functions. I highly recommend looking into them

Thanks for sharing and may the Father continue to watch over & bless you and your house.
Shalom
Fix Dad’s watch. It’s you best watch. Followed by the Tuna.
The story is the best part and family stories are the best. And the shared watch is awesome for your son. Get your names engraved or something like that. A father and son watch is extra special. (I love Rolex, they’re so classic and great, but the family connection is so special.
Right on. Built custom-made and modified dive & military watches for nearly 20 years :)
The Garmin Fenix 7x Pro SS is amazing. I never charge mine, stays on my wrist for 20+ days. To each his own I guess.
Not mechanical, not collectible
Amazing collection, honestly somewhat jealous. Here are some things I noticed that might make them more enjoyable in the future though:
1:30 a likely reason why the khaki took in condensation, well two really, was that the screw down crown was open or the caseback. I know because I was a bold person who changed their watch’s time in the pool and now I have paid dearly.
Another thing 2:55 is a reason the seiko tuna is hard to wear is because the watch is too far up your wrist, typically it is behind the wrist bone. Same thing at 6:40
7:39 Nice, never knew such a thing existed.
Some gorgeous watches !!! Thank you for the content god bless you and your family !!!
Not mechanical not collectable
@@houserental5424God tier 🤙✌️🤣

Yessssss I asked for an edc vid and a watch vid ! Thanks Cody
It is a fascinating topic and
Watches that I do not own currently but look forward towards getting are:
Citizen Homer Second Setting Japan Railway watch 21 Jewels
Seiko Prospex Spring Drive GMT
Hamilton (not sure on model yet, but it would need to be one of the old military looking models and I prefer mechanical over quartz)
IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XV Automatic (1998-1999) 21 Jewels
I'm not at all ready to carry a pocket watch, but that thing is gorgeous!
My favorites.

I collect everything Swiss, German, Japanese, French, Chinese... doesn't matter.
I just enjoy watches.
amzwatch You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
The citizen PCAT watches are great. Eco-drive and radio controlled. They get a signal every night so they're always precise and never need a battery.
This is rad! Thanks for sharing the collection!
The tuna is excellent and has one of the best quartz movement's thats out there.
I can appreciate the watch collection, although I never wear a watch myself. We all have stuff that gives us the fizz.
why are your videos flipped sometimes where the picture is reversed? Is that a side effect of recording on your iPhone?
That happens when you film with the front camera on your phone. It's an easier filming experience if you're looking at a mirror image rather than the actual camera view.
The pocket watch looks like a seiko laurel, early alpinist. I got a baby alpinist and I love it so much.
I love the pocket watch! I've always had a thing for them. My son is too and has quite a few.
Cody is far down the materialism rabbit hole. Guy is the king of "stuff"
Ah man, there's something about tool watches that just makes me happy. I've also got a Marathon CSAR, and it's indestructible. The grail for me is the Sinn UX, simply because it's so hilariously overbuilt. 5,000m diving depth is utterly useless to me, but man is it cool.
No one has ever complimented a smart watch.
I had a Marathon JDD that was simply too bulky. I got a used Seiko Tuna and and it is the best watch I’ve ever used.
My fenix 7 lasts 18 days. Barely charge it 2 times a month. I’m with you. I can’t take the charging. That’s why I choose Garmin over Apple. I can deal with 18+ days charge. Can’t beat a Rolex tho.
My Fenix 5X sapphire can go 2 weeks before I charge mine, and it still has about 25% life left.
@@jrm3519866 right now sitting at 11 days 56%
The fades on that jacket are looking great. Will be awesome to see how it looks a year from now!
Tissot Gentlemen 80 Silicium, pound for pound the perfect do it all watch.
It’s alright for a non enthusiast
PRX 80 better
@@houserental5424 can’t put on a lot of other straps on it
I have several great watches, but my favorite is still the Marathon gsar onnthe bracelet.
I would look at the Citizen promaster series or Seiko turtle. They would be right up your alley for dependability and ruggedness.
Watches from the 1960s are pretty cool like Accutron’s are fun to collect.
I’m with you there ProHo I can’t stand stuff on my wrists either when I’m working
Thank you for the content Wranglerstar!
I’ve had a couple smart watches and my garmin instinct is by far my favorite watch I charge it once every 2 weeks never lets me down has some basic and advanced features
Nice collection, there. I personally wouldnt take a watch swimming unless it has a screw down crown and at least 20bar resistance.
Nice video today.
Reminds me of days gone by.
I’ve missed you guys.
Love your watch collection.
Cheers, Cody.
Hope you’re well.

Nice collection! 👍🏻
I love your Dad's Rolex Submariner. Absolutely beautiful color.
Explorer is def the do-it-all watch.
Believe we have the same 39mm mk1 model. I wear it often 👍🏻
Looks like you might be ready for that train conductor career. That pocket watch is one of the approved UP watches. Very nice.
A watch recommendation I suggest for the modern proho would be the Casio Protrek line of watches. They are durable and come with many options and functions. I highly recommend looking into them
What a great video 👍
Great to see your collection! I have a Tuna (the newer version) and several Seikos and a Citizen. Love divers!
