SOLD! Feature packed, nice work guys. Impressed with the guage thickness of the cables. My old Ebay generic charger dies this week and the Victron chargers are too exy.
G'day Mark,Thanks for the great comments we work & play hard here at kickass & our products are serious stuff & we have fun while we are doing it Cheers Craig
Just bought one of these to go with my "little" 12A KickAss charger. Needed a second charger to allow one charger to be left on each of the 12V batteries in storage here for more than a week or so, but still be able to keep the Mustang battery charged when its not being driven. Great price recently, and wish I could have got more than 1, but maybe next time
Can i leave my dcdc connected while i use this. Could there be an issue if the solar panel tries to put in power at the same time? I would prefer not to have to disconnect my dcdc every time i use this
I went through three of these that totally stopped working. , two sent back under warranty. Third one I sent back and I didn't make a claim. I hope you sorted out the problem I had using them to charge lithium batteries using my petrol generator.
Sorry to hear about that mate did you touch base with the tech & warranty team, having 3 fail could possibly be a power supply issue here is a link to support page for you supportportal.kickassproducts.com.au/en-GB/articles/battery-chargers-132155 cheers Craig
Nice. I bought my intelligent charger a few years ago for my car's starter battery. I connect it directly to the battery under the hood. I have an agm on my solar system, waiting for my van. I will have a shunt and 2 buses +/-. Would you attach the charger to the shunt and battery positive, or do you attach to the bus where the inverter and solar charger are attached? And where would I attach your charger once I upgrade to lithium? Is there a feature of a charger that adds safety if you attach to the buses? Thanks!
It is best to have your AC charger connected directly to the battery. Connecting to the shunt is not necessary as you want your shunt to measure your systems loa draw.
@@KickAssProducts I thought the shunt keeps track of energy going in and out of the bank.if 3nergy is going in that bypasses the shunt doesn't that mean the shunt will be showing an incorrect total amps?... edit: oh I see because it's on the negative. So I still don't know how it knows its a charging vs. Load
For the AGM reconditioning mode is that set to go no higher than 15v? For the desulphation mode how high will voltage go, as seems typically AGM doesn’t like more than 15v (at least Odyssey)? For step 8 float charge is that a steady 13.7v and how long does it stay at steady before swapping to maintenance? Step 9 maintain if I understand correctly monitors the battery and will provide a charge if it drops below 12.6v and no higher than 14.4v? Coming to the conclusion that my current smart charger never really provided the proper charging for the battery. At this point it’ll show about 12.6v after the charger says full and has settled for a few hours off the charger. So hopefully can bring some life back to it with a better charger.
G'day mate, the recondition mode can go to 15.7 & is desighned to give everything a big shake up & help desulphate the plates,i would only use it on an old lazy battery that could bring it back to life & a battery that has been discharged & sat for a long time but is not really a miracle cure to bring a dead battery back,i would never use reco on a good performing battery thanks for watching Cheers Craig
Hi, I just purchased one. Does it tell you when the battery is full charging a lithium battery also? I've had mine on for a while too and it is just sitting on stage 4?
Yes it should. Ensure you have the charger set to "Lithium" mode. If you continue to have issues please contact us via our support portal. supportportal.kickassproducts.com.au/
G'day there prickly prickle,we have had the tried & rtested 22 amp for a long time now & is an awesome charger, the 32 amp is the newest,& at 32 amps can charge larger lithium battery banks,They are both fantastic at charging all types of battery's but if you have a larger battery bank eg: 300 a/h i would suggest going the 32 amp charger thanks for watching Cheers Craig
I have a 12v dual battery system with everything connected through a 12v panel and a dcdc charger. Could I connect this straight to the second battery if I'm parked in the garage for a few days and leave everything connected ? I would also want to have my fridge running the entire time as well. Hope this question makes sense Thanks
G'day Sean, it is better to have no items on when charging via AC 240v as it can sometimes confuse the charger when its trying to charge & items are drawing current at the same time - but not crucial as a lot of set ups have them installed permanently - just from a maintenance point of view have no loads on battery when charging Thanks for watching the video Cheers Craig
@@KickAssProducts thanks for reply. I did end up ordering one and have used it a few times with the fridge still connected and running and have had no issues. Cheers
Will the charger automatically select fast or slow charge for a new lithium battery ? And is it okay to charge lithium batteries whilst under load ? Thanks 😊
G'day Mate,no you will have to select what charge profile you want & it is always better to charge battery's with no load connected thanks for watching cheers Craig
G'day mate, yse the new charger can perform a battery test before you start charging & then no time wasting trying to charge a dead battery thanks for watching Cheers Craig
@@KickAssProducts cheers mate you sold me on that I work at a mechanics and we use old fashioned load tester before we use it before we charge batteries to test to see if it worth the time charging. Since living out here in the middle of nowhere for someone reason I see time and time again batterys failing they can be from few months old to cppl years old they just don't last out here for some reason. Compare to where I'm from South of Adelaide where I've had the same battery going strong for 6 years however soon as I moved out here I can already tell it's starting to fail. Which puts me in the market for a battery charger that will keep the new one healthy and yours will let me know when my current one fails which is awesome. Soon as I get one will promise to do a fair non bias review on it on my channel ☺️.
No, not automatically. It is generally always best to store your batteries at almost full capacity as long as they are being stored within the recommended temperature guidelines as they will self discharge over time. The only reason you would store your batteries at such a low state of charge is if they will be stored in extreme temperatures.

My e-bike uses 5 of them to get 64V. I find the battery pack only last a few months under 'hard use'. Could an active cell balancer be used to help the battery stay useful longer? Having 1 or 2 go bad means the whole pack could be changed. 6 cells x 2.1/cell =12.8v x5 = 64v
Hi guys, i bought this one last week, using it to charge my Thumper AGM battery pack, works well. I am looking to upgrade the battery pack to a lithium type, probably one with a DC-DC charger pre fitted. Will this charger be suitsble to that type of configuration, or do i bypass the dc-dc charger when charging outside of my car
G'day mate, never had any feed back or complaint's about tppl & they should charge quicker than a standard agm,i have used on odessy battery's before with no issue, just check the battery manufactures specs on charging & compare the specs of our charger,i don't reckon there will be any issues thanks for watching Cheers Craig
