Gipp been pop’n the truth that many afraid to say….and sum afraid to hear!!!
A lot of people don’t like country bumpkin rappers with no skills. That’s for teenagers and strip clubs but some people like to hear rap music that really meant something like Public Enemy, X Clan, Poor Righteous Teachers, KRS -1 etc etc music that make you think.
True and I’m from the South..But there’s no southern rap group on PE,x clan and Poor righteous teachers level…Even the east coast up north don’t put those guys above Biggie and Jay but they should…Hands down the East coast from New york to jersey have the best real Mcs that spit real music..
Facts. That applies worldwide too. With the exception of Outkast, hip hop fans in Europe and Asia not checking for ignorant down south rap like that. They’re big on east and west coast rap out there.

He had great energy on tracks loluda was that niggah from 99-07 dropped hits every fukkin year solo or featuring

I Really enjoy Gipp Interviews they’re genuine and straight from the Gut 💯
Gipp is speaking on the chip on the shoulder that Atlanta has always had when it comes to Atlanta. He’s speaking from the perspective of someone who’s felt the bias from New York media, but it almost comes off like a victim’s mentality. New York looks for bars, Atlanta and Miami looks for shit that bumps in the strip club. The West Coast is about what sounds good in the ride. What Gipp is saying is correct, but he’s using his own bias to speak on bias.
We were born listening to damn near poets on the MIC in New York and the South dumbed down rap music so much that these guys think strip club and booty shaking music one liners are lyrical rappers.

LUDA was definitely one of my favorites when he first came out.
I’m from Detroit and I agree with everything Gipp said. I’ve alaways had a great deal of respect for Artists from the South. So when i hear niggas from other areas saying they got from the mud, and i respect every grind, no rapper has had as hard as the ones from Atlanta, Mississippi, Texas and all over the South. Niggas from NY could literally get on the Subway and go to Def Jam. Southern artists didn’t have that type of easy access to a major label. They had no choice but to do they thing independently and i mean these guys was selling their tapes from the trunk of their cars and local rappers from Detroit was doing the same thing so thats why I can respect the hustle of southern rappers.
Big Gipp really hate NY like that? The south and west coast hip hop style was undeveloped back in the day. No comparison between Kane, G Rap, KRS, Rakim, De La, EPMD, LL Cool J, Lyte, Latifah etc in 88-94 to other regions at the same time. We couldn’t relate. But we showed love to Ice Cube, Snoop, the DOC and the OutKast, Goodie Mob later on in the mid 90’s
thank you finally somebody has fucking said it that’s older, bro damn music was fucking garbage. I tried to listen to a Ice Cube albums for somebody to sit there and say he was a better storyteller. The biggie is fucking blasphemy. They were still wrapping Dr. Seuss/nursery rhymes. It was like bro this shit is so basically who the fuck in the right mind would want to hear that shit it’s no disrespect to the south but they were extremely under developed during the golden age of hip-hop. We couldn’t relate to that bullshit and I’m from New York Harlem to be exact people hate all my city for so long is like I don’t understand why.
