ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ। ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ CM ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਲਾਅਜ਼ (ਸੋਧ) ਬਿੱਲ 2023। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨਸਭਾ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਬਿੱਲ। ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ CM ਨੂੰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸੀ ਤਜਵੀਜ਼। PAU ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਫਰੀਦ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰੇੜਕਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ..। ਬਿੱਲ ਤਹਿਤ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ 12 ਸਟੇਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਲਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੋਲ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਹੋਣੀ ਸੀ।
