George Harrison named his Record Label "Dark Horse". The inspiration for the Dark Horse logo came from a label on a tin box Harrison saw on one of his trips to India. The logo is the 7-headed horse Uchchaisravas, from Indian mythology. Harrison was a dark horse(unexpected winner) in seeking a solo career after having been overshadowed among The Beatles by Lennon and McCartney, yet being the first ex-Beatle with a #1 solo album and #1 single (All Things Must Pass &"My Sweet Lord")
I saw that tour in Philly...my friend & I hid in the men's room after the first show then snuck into the second show...there, right in front of me, was a Beatle...and he played the psychadelic Strat from Magical Mystery Tour!
I saw GH in Long Beach during this tour and absolutly loved the concert. I can still remember the huge Dark Horse tapestry or other artwork behind the stage. So mellow, a welcome change up from the Zep show in San Diego that year which was out of control.Oh yeah I was 17 and jammed as many concerts into '74 and '75 as I possibly could. RIP George you will be loved forever.
Yes, this deserves to be released as an official release from the Estate. And the complete concerts from Japan with Eric Clapton, too! I hate it when they keep music in the vaults for years. Look at Get Back as an example! Isn’t it great? That footage sat unreleased for 50 years! Release Everything!
He was so good in concert! I am so glad I saw him back in 1974 too! I just wish that they would release an actual full film of this! It is such a shame that the critics had to be so harsh, causing him to shelve the chance of releasing the Dark Horse tour as a film. (darn it!) (I love it at the end of this where he says: "I'm also a hoarse horse." LOL (I MISS you, George!)
Saw George on this concert tour at the Inglewood fabulous forum in LA , around ( I believe) 1975) , and this song easily became a instead classic for me. Enjoyable concert.
I saw him here in Philly back in 74 too. Just this week my friend found a copy of that very same concert I was at and he's sending it to me! I am so excited. I remember it like it was yesterday! Fantastic show!
the real George Harrison fans don't care that he wasn't in great voice for this tour and, obviously, there's great footage of the '74 tour...let's see it! c'mon Olivia & Dhani, release it
I was at the show in Ft. Worth, where this audio was recorded. Thanks so much for posting this, it brings back some great memories of seeing George play live in 1974! Good work!
He had strained his voice and was hoarse during this entire tour. Even so, his talent was so great he still put on fantastic shows. I only saw him live once in Memphis 1966 when he was touring with some band he used to be in.
i saw him at the night show at the chicago stadium in 1974. heck it was george. and he played that guitar from "i am the walrus" live. i loved it. it was the first time i slept out to wait for tickets. i stil have the ticket stub. november 30, 1974 $8.50.
@@mangiacaprini9049 If you are suggesting that I dreamt it, that I am lying...it was the Thursday before Thanksgiving 1976 NBC bldg. NYC. I have pictures
@QueenBeatlesWings - Yeah - I know he was hoarse during the tour and that he was refering to his larangitis when he said that comment but as you wrote - he was a trouper about the whole thing - and I sure admire him for that. I still wish that they would release the films they shot of that tour. :-D
Nov 24 1974, Hofheinz Pavillion, Houston: I'm 13, on crutches, and dressed in the finest I can muster because tonight I'll be in (omg!) the very room Mr. Harrison is. I've no doubt that my moral compass is indebted to GH--from Beatles era to Concert for Bangladesh and beyond. Poster, thank you so much for sharing this!!
I saw him on this tour in NY.... I can't remember whether it was at Madison Square Garden (probably) or Nassau Coliseum (possibly). Anyone remember the venue?
@@toothbrush5190 Yep, I saw the afternoon show. Sad to say, his voice was real hoarse and the crowd was deflated after listening to Ravi Shankar for almost 1 hr
Bob Diepold I was at that show and the night show. The afternoon show was the best of the 3 shows at MSG, according to those who went to all 3. I loved the afternoon show. His voice was hoarse but that made it special for me. Hearing George that way now always brings me right back!
could you mix the picture up anymore???? the long ditance is just junk. Hearing GH hoarse is about the worst, but he's just a rhythem player Lucky to see hime i guess
Rest in peace, George. Thanks for all the great music within and without the Beatles.
I wish they would release this film. I've always liked the song and the album I don't care what the critics say.
Love his songs... he was so talented..a complex soul
I saw this concert in Memphis, November 27,1974.The vibe was fantastic! Love George Harrison!

What a great sounding live performance!
George, I still love you and always will.❤❤❤love you
I saw Harrison in Tulsa, ok in 74 and what made it special was that Tulsa's own Leon Russell came on stage.
George had the power to guide others and give them belief in themselves.
