I used this machine in my physical therapy today. I had never heard of it before but let me tell you that for the first time in two years, I was able to walk for almost 10 minutes. It takes the pressure off of the back and knees and yes, despite a previous comment, does work on an anti gravity principle. I actually felt disoriented after as you feel almost weightless. (Think walking in the pool but your legs are the only thing moving). In my case only my legs were moving and the rest of me was stationary although others may suit it for running and engage their whole body that’s not what I can do right now. It was an unusual feeling but it got me moving and I will be on it again during my time there. It’s an incredible piece of machinery and so grateful it exists!
Hey all, unfortunately I was only able to use it one time. I had hoped to be on it more ( a lot more) but my health took a turn during that time and all physical therapy had to cease. I’m up and walking on my own now for the first time in 3 1/2 years unassisted though so yay me! I will say, I do wish I had more time on the anti gravity treadmill to build up some muscle tone and endurance. Doing it on my own has been a tough road but happy to say that I’m up to walking a mile+ at a time now. If you have the opportunity to try this machine, please do it. While I may not have been on it for long, as someone who was always a very big walker and had her legs disabled for years, being on the machine reminded me of why I loved it so much and gave me the mental boost I so greatly needed. It gave me the reminder of yes I can and WILL do this again. And for that, I am truly grateful.
Fascinating. Just heard about this because one of Cleveland's baseball players was said to be using it in rehab. It's great to be able to find stuff like this so quickly. Training is so much easier than decades ago.
I'm using this in PT due to having back surgery and it is absolutely helpful. You don't feel the impact in your hips and back. I'm able to walk as much as I want and get a good workout. I would love to have one of these at home... anyone willing to gift me about $50K?!? Damn this machine is expensive!
I used this for the first time after a heavy knee injury 3 months ago. I was wobbling on one stick and today I walked normal for the first time! This thing is amazing! Too bad the price is unaffordable for me, otherwise i’d bought it instantly
sadly I dont think thatll ever be possible, unless we found some exotically dense dark matter that we could make a floor, and more likely an entire massive foundation, out of :D although you can always just wear ankle/wrist weights to simulate increased gravity, and I can imagine some super high-tech solution that used magnets instead of weights with an adjustable magnetic floor to increase pulling force, that would be pretty awesome
I'm a C5 quadriplegic with partial walking ability mainly in the pool. Could someone like myself use a treadmill like this?? I can bear weight and take steps outside of the pool just requires assistance.
Just used one. Trying to recover from ongoing calf issues. Ran at 55% bodyweight. Feels a little awkward for the first few mins but after that it felt really good
I get it from comments and news articles about some athletes, that this is an anti-gravity treadmill, but fuck me if a video of it in action proves anything. They might as well have just shown some pics and the guy brief us in 1 minute. I know expecting the fella using it to levitate is too much, but I was kinda hoping for it 😂
*This would've been a great video if you had used someone physically challenged to do this.* *Right now, one can't see what really this does beyond your explanations.*
When I go to the link, I’m not able to message anyone. If you need someone to test on, it would be my dad. He had a severe head injury and then grand mal seizures. He was in many hospitals for years
But without the body feeling the weight, the work done is not the same as a regular treadmill. Does it increase heart rate at all? If not what's the point? Or is this for a totally different purpose?
Can someone explain the physics behind this? How does a pressure differential bubble affect weight? The person is still the same distance away from the earth, so the gravitational pull should still be the same regardless of the pressure bubble the body is in
i'm pretty sure it's just a fancy harness that uses the shorts to suspend you from the waist. like those bouncy things you hang on a door frame and sit your toddler in.
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
CALORIES = ENERGY ... lifting (even for a small motion as a step) 100kg takes more forces thus more energy than 50kg. So no you wont. But I think this may be a good way for rehab after surgery on the legs (knees, tendon, ....), when you are obese, want to lose weight and at the same time protect your knees and hips, or when building up heart endurance/strengs after a heart attack and stuff ... I do not think there is any significant use for someone who is healthy and fit.
This machine isn't about burning calories. It's about getting in the motion. After an injury, when you may not be about to walk and/or run on a normal treadmill
It works on differing air pressure between ambient and internal bag pressure. This essentially counteracts the patient's bodyweight on a certain area (the waist). Just do a little bit of research on their website; no magnetism.
Mmm yeah then it must be issue free. But simply doesn't a pool works? Sometimes people with bowel and bladder movement problems, may find this useful as they can't really fall in to a pool. Right. 🤔👍
It works against gravity, so yes, it is anti-gravity. And that's not a vacuum chamber, it's actually the opposite; it's pressurized air used to hold up the weight of the individual.
@@123a-o5d As far as I'm aware, there is no "version used in space" in regards to the particular device shown in this video. I presume what you're referring to is the idea that the inventor of this device originally came up with and led to his invention of this device, which was essentially this treadmill but with lower pressure causing a force pulling the user towards the treadmill in place of the higher pressure of this device which does the opposite, but I've never come across anything about the actual development and use of that idea. Considering such a system would be far more complicated and therefore more prone to failure, would take up more space, be heavier than, and would use more energy than the treadmill system already in use in space (such as the American treadmill installed on the ISS and the Russian one that preceded it), which uses a simple system consisting of a harness that pulls the user towards the treadmill using what is basically a set of bungie cords and chain links, and would have little to no actual benefits over that system, I would be surprised if such a treadmill was ever used in space.

Whoa, I hope the VA can take advantage of this machine we have so many veterans with knee issues including myself.
Pretty incredible technology. Game changing stuff.

i think so because this is basically like water, it takes the weight and pressure off your legs/joints/injury
I've heard this thing helped KD recover from from ruptured Achilles injury
really cool stuff, wouldve liked to hear the runner's feedback about how it felt though!

Swimming can have similar effects right?
You won't see results from swimming like you will on the AlterG.
Andrew R what happens if he falls

That’s what I was also thinking 🤔 couldn’t quite get the principle behind this machine .

I don’t think it’s for that, it’s to rehab injuries that can’t take jogging/walking at the full body weight.
I’m not sure but Mike Tyson said you can run as fast as you can and you won’t feel anything but once you get out it’s like you can barely stand
Who’s here from tiktok???

I guess the pressure in the bag just pushes/pulls you and your shorts upwards, like some sort of high tech wedgie.
i'm pretty sure it's just a fancy harness that uses the shorts to suspend you from the waist. like those bouncy things you hang on a door frame and sit your toddler in.
pretty nifty, but I'm guessing that it cannot accommodate larger folks
In the first part of the video it says the pants you have to wear go up to a 4 XL.
larger folks always find an excuse
I can also agree, that as a man, we always enter from the back.
I'm gonna be honest, i saw liver pool players running on this treadmill
Oh, my gosh, that's the motherest thing I've ever seen!

Will you be able to burn the same amount of calories on this machine versus the original treadmill

Wouldnt that be simular to being in space.. Where u suffer from being in a weightless environment? So is this a good idea???
In space your in zero gravity environment constantly. This isn't evan close to that. It basically lifts you up
how come this isnt in hospitals.... oh because hospitals aren't about helping people but keeping them on their death bed....
Can it do positive gravity
Doesn't a pool do the job? And what about the high magnetic field this machine creates to counter the gravity?

Not Anti-Gravity at all what a load of bs. It's lifting the body around the hips that's all.
I've been in one of those and it legitimately feels like anti gravity. As you change the percentage you can feel yourself getting lighter or heavier.
Why the big vacuum bubble then?
It works against gravity, so yes, it is anti-gravity. And that's not a vacuum chamber, it's actually the opposite; it's pressurized air used to hold up the weight of the individual.
Air pressure doesn't affect gravity so a vacuum wouldn't have the effect you're thinking of.
