I tried it for the first time today. I have been a competitive runner for 36 years. I had a hip replacement in July. Yes, the arm movement is a barrier however, I LOVED THIS MACHINE. The true test of being weight barring and how well this machine helps is not during the workout but after.

Is that good for Osteoporosis? If so why? Also I have balance issues. I broke my ankle in 2 places almost 3 years ago. I have not recovered in spite of a year and half of PT. I have Bursitis, arthritis, and tendonitis in my hips from an allergy to the metal . Would this be good for me?

In your bullet list at 6:25, you spelled meniscectomy wrong having missed the "c."

Anything that is an unweighting device is working as "anti-gravity". From a marketing standpoint, this device warrants the name as much as any other moniker like identification method.

No it isn't anti-gravity. Sorry, it is a machine that creates an unweighted environment from differing air pressures. Anti-gravity is not something that balances out gravity with another force, anti-gravity is a science fiction term and is the idea of creating an object or area that magically has no affect from gravity. According to modern scientific understanding the notion of anti-gravity is just purely a fictional one. Sorry

Not antigravity. It is taking weight onto the hips that's all.

    • @sentimentalpink

No it takes the weight off the hips. I just tried it today. It is extremely helpful. I had a hip replacement in July.

@@sentimentalpink Right. Air pressure affects all surfaces of the body inside the chamber, so it will spread the weight evenly througought the feet, legs and crotch. Any surface of the body inside the chamber that's facing more down than up. Which if standing straight will include pretty much the full surface of the legs, since they are generally thicker at the top than the bottom.

Anti-Gravity, nope. Also, try sprinting on it, not enough arm room movement!

Nice, but seems like a very expensive way to get what a pool offers for almost no cost. My lap pool costs me about 30 cents per day, and there is a shallow lane for walking. The water resistance mentioned as a drawback is actually a plus, and weights can easily be worn to increase gravity beyond 50%. Swimming also works upper body muscles, etc. I love tech stuff, am a scientist myself, but health care costs have gone through the roof.

This is much better for a runner than water. You cannot change the amount of weight bearing in water.

WE have one at our rehabilitation clinic and it is amazing. People get the opportunity to walk again after being non weight bearing and they are so happy. You do not have to undress get wet dry off and redress which leaves more time for other therapeutic activities.
