To explain GeoGreymon in more detail, it is an alternative Champion form of Agumon, that first debuted in the fifth season of the anime, Digimon Data Squad (Or Digimon Savers, in Japan), as the main lead had an Agumon as a partner. Said Agumon actually looked slightly different to your average Agumon, having the same red bracers on its arms as GeoGreymon. GeoGreymon has its own evolutionary line separate from Greymon's.
Many anime partners require high CAM to evolve into- Koromon can actually evolve into no less than three anime partners, those being Agumon (Partnered to Tai in _Adventure_ and Marcus in _Data Squad_ ), Guilmon (Partnered to Takato in _Tamers_ ) and Shoutmon (Partnered to Taiki in _Xros Wars_ ). Amongst these, Shoutmon (the Digimon at the bottom of Koromon's evolution list) is the toughest to evolve, having only one possible evolution, that being into OmegaShoutmon (or OmniShoutmon, as it's referred to in the dub), requiring a much higher level than any other Rookie evolution, and this is because its evolution is essentially into a Mega-tier Digimon, though officially, as a Digimon from the sixth season, Digimon Xros Wars (I refuse to use the dub name of Digimon Fusion), neither Shoutmon nor OmegaShoutmon were classified as having an evolutionary level until long after the release of _Cyber Sleuth._
The symbol on Guilmon and it's line is the Digital Hazard symbol according to the wiki. Basically, it means the mon can easily damage computer data, as well as be destructive in general (hence why it has two awesome megas and not just one).
Love it’s giga form (I know it’s still the same form but it’s cool looking in the anime )
1:53:00 Just a small note, elemental triangle has no "resistance", unlike the "Virus, Data, Vaccine" triangle
So while Fire Attacks are strong against Plant Element, a Fire Type Attack is not weak to Water Element
Damage reduction only takes into account if the opponent is Data, Virus or Vaccine and cuts damage by half (x0.5) if you are at a disadvantage
The attack element only matters for increasing your damage by x1.5, it will never decrease it
Elemental damage can be mitigated, but only through equipment. HM has also decided to buff elemental res eq for some reason and as such Elemental Guard DXs are immensely broken (20%->30% res to one element with an added downside of +10% damage taken of a different element, but given that most bosses have only one dangerous attack each, the drawback might as well not exist).
Watching Asprey click every mon except the one that was max level hurt me.
I think the "wolken" prefix on some of the fire-element attack names is a mistranslation of "volcan", as in "volcanic". ...I dunno, made sense to me.
I love me some digimon videos wish the series was more popular.
The game isnt bad, but it's an uncannily okay experience.
Like, you'll still play through the game for your money's worth, and you know it's a good game, but you don't know if you felt your 50 hours was worth it.
The companion game is much better though
The difference between Pokemon and Digimon is that Pokemon found a perfect formula and repeated over and over for years, Digimon tried different things all the time even if a game was very successful, this created a inconsistent popularity
@@megalowie1324 That's true for the games of both franchises and their anime counterparts.
To explain the connection the best I can, connecting to Edan causes your consciousness and body to separate. We learn this from two very dark quests (one in Cyber Sleuth and one in Hacker's Memory). So when the guy logged on, he basically couldn't respond in the real world due to not being able to.
The only game where "sending it to the farm" isn't an euphemism for for something darker.
I mean, it means almost the exact same thing in Legends Arceus
@@hierophantics4876 it is established lore that people butcher and eat pokemon, so...
My guess is that sometimes later after the game, some of those pokemon in the farm are ending up on someone's plate.
This is a really nice series to watch while I’m recovering from Bronchitis. Thanks Pikasprey!
Oh yeah and sometime you should check out Digimon Story: Lost Evolution! It’s kind of similar to Digimon Dusk, but it’s streamlined in quite a few areas. It finally got a fan translation just this year!
The whole “jumping through digital portal” thing is super confusing. Cause only the protag in Cyber Sleuth are able to do that physically, pretty sure they kinda explained it in Hacker’s Memory where the protag there are unable to “jump through” so technically he’s just outside standing in front of those telephone booth with his “goggles” on
Alright, so what was that guy you're chasing in that side-quest hoping to accomplish? If normal people don't actually "go in" like the protagonist, and the way they interface with EDEN is by using the equivalent of a VR headset, the guy's body would still be outside and you could just drag him by the collar or whatever. Instead they present it as if the guy went into a portal just like what the protag does, with no explanation whatsoever.
@@Joe4evr Yeah its weird and confusing but also its kind of hilarious in a hindsight cause imagine some asshole tried to escape and then he just puts on his VR headset on him and sits down, and the cops does the same, its the comedic lol
Also our protagonist is able to jump through the digital portal so maybe its better to chase him in cyber space to slap some sense into him instead of yanking his VR set off with him just screaming and yelling at you publicly.
@@Joe4evr Mental data gets transferred to Eden, it’s how Infermon and his partner got young men’s bodies to harvest their organs as what’s in the real world is essentially a vegetable, same reason Eden syndrome was a thing, the mind leaves the body, getting eaten in this case
I think the idea would be that his mind would be in there but even then I would assume the cops can just force eject them and cuff their body
@@MineNAdventurerBut that would be risking more chances of EDEN Syndrome, in the public eye. With people already getting hospitalized randomly, I doubt they'd be willing to run the risk of force ejecting anything like that.
Played this game back when it came out ,and recently got complete edition, since i want to play hackers memory some day when i will have more free time, top notch story , and looots of secrets to collect...
This game needed more of those Digimon from the season where the characters directly fuse with eggs and fight, that was cool as fuck when I was a kid.
They are there, it's just... There's only 3
Frontier
A good part 2, also GeoGreymon is from Season 5 Data Squad, new look on Greymon and his line. Also if you want to know what Digimon Shinkas into I find that a lot of Digidestined Digimon have the high cam. So if you see high cam chances are its a Digidestined Digimon.
Who wants to tell Asprey that Rosemon was an early digimon and the designers were always horny?
In all fairness, the designs and especially the official artwork got far worse in the 20teens
@@elius1548 I mean, Rosemon, Angewomon and LadyDevimon are hard bars to pass.
Blue: Jellymon!
Me in my head: that's not her... or "How do we tell him.?"
Can confirm, 'all y'all' is perfectly normal.
Another incredibly comfortable vid
Gargo is a miss spelling of Galgo, which is a breed of dog
Or it's just Japanese things. I remember Goblimon being named 'Goburimon" in earlier games
@@dannystuivenberg1195 Probably fell victim to early translation, where a lot of those mistakes happened. Aeris (from Earisu) instead of Aerith comes to mind. Same here with Gargomon (from Garugomon) instead of Galgomon. Though how that Digimon looks like a galgo is beyond me.
Digimon names are a mess anyway, barely translating their names at all and sticking with some bad early ones, similar to Gen1 Pokemon names. And even though the same Japanese names are being used, their spelling is still inconsistent. E.g. Galgomon is still Gargomon in German, yay!
@@PrayForTanqueray Gargomon sounds much better anyways imo
I am not entirely sure on if it is a translation thing or not, but I believe what the game means when he escaped into Eden is that his mind went into the digital world as a means of escaping the situation, and forcing anyone out of Eden can have terrible effects. So we had to chase the man into Eden to get him out so we could question him. The guy did "escape into Eden" but not physically.
To check your current progress in a quest check your player info., it should always tell you the next step to the quest(unless it's mainstory/not a quest)
Edit: helps pretty often(atleast for me)
In the mephisto fight
Growlmon: kick the baby
Asprey:dont kick the baby
Growlmon:kick the baby
Lunamon:(gets kicked into stratosphere)
3:16:49 Agumon and Gabumon on that mystery dungeon grind
Oh I remember Moon RPG.
I got it when it was first ported to the Switch.
Got the ranking "Big Bang of Love".
Though, I guess the game doesn't really want you to get everything, but I still remember how much I hated that one bit of Love from that arcade machine game.
What a hard janky minigame.
Anyways, I definitely wouldn't have gotten everything done in that game without a guide towards the end, but I was at least able to get to the ending without one.
Yeah, this game really isn't like DMW1, but I'd say its a lot like DMW2
its more like dusk or dawn, than dmw2, dmw2 is more like the predecessor to pokemon mystery dungeon
@@Luna_Eclipse_Wolf I never played the DS games, that's why it looks the closest to DMW2 for me, if compared to the first 3 DMW games.
The symbol on guilmon is there to signify that is a digimon that if it were to lose control it could heavely damage the digital World just whit It's precense.
Geogreymon digivolves into shinegreymon from data squad and has a burst mode the better of the 2 graymon lines
1:02:49 i don't think there has ever been a kid that has been upset by seeing a gun, It's always the parents
Digimon tamers is a great series
1:08:25 Guess I shouldn´t be too surprised to see a Persona 5 reference. Cyber Sleuth feels a lot like a Persona game, after all.
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth release date March 12, 2015
Persona 5 release date September 15, 2016
@@blackromeoKOK Hm...could be a coincidence, then.
But this is the complete edition they released for Switch and PC, right? That was in 2019.
Jiniken is speaking in some code lolz rofl lmao WHAT DOES IT MEAN XD
3:21:50 im fucking dead
I suppose "Wolkenapalm" would be "Cloud, Napalm" in German?
I finally know the secret now on how to get a girlfriend
