The AI Act and General Purpose AI

The AI Act constitutes the first EU legal framework to regulate artificial intelligence (AI). The aim of the Act is to support innovation while fostering trustworthy AI in the EU, by ensuring that AI systems and models respect ethical guidelines and fundamental rights.

They also consider the risk thresholds and forthcoming compliance obligations for providers of General Purpose AI.
