    Nasrullah is probably the greatest sire in Modern History. Most consider the modern era to be beginning in 1940. He only sired 400 foals but 100 of them were stakes winners (25%) as a comparison the top stallions in the world today only sire about 10% stakes winners. Sires that produce 1000 foals are considered exceptional if they can produce 100 stakes winners. Mr. McPeek also mentioned that one of his favorite sires was Mahmoud. Mahmoud is the sire of one of my favorite horses that I watched run in Southern California when I was a kid named The Axe. The Axe is the best stayer grass horse from the USA that I ever saw.
