  • These are my tips for moving with kids and making the whole process easier and a lot less stressful! I'm sharing the mistakes I made so that you don't do the same.
    A quick backstory: Me and my partner met when we studied abroad in California. I then fell pregnant with our son Edward who is now 2 years old. For 20 months of his life we lived in separate countries, doing the whole long distance relationship/parenting thing. Now we have all moved to Vietnam and are living finally living as a family.

    You did so well getting that done all on your own and to travel with a toddler must have been so tough but great you had the support at the other end. I'm a single mum with a toddler whos recently turned 4 and finding my country of NZ is not the best place to raise him so looking at other countries that could offer us a better life. Will definitely be able to use your tips when I decide on somewhere best for us thank you!

    Thanks for this video! I'm planning to move abroad (from Finland) for a year or more with my teenager and preschooler. While your son is younger and thus not all problems relevant for me, I found this video very encouraging. Also huge fan of your down to earth attitude, and love your accent. 😱

    Thank you for the tips ❤️that makes sense that you're moving to be with your partner, I'm honestly just interested in living abroad with my daughter. But I imagine it will be much harder moving to another country without any family there. I guess it's just something I'll have to keep planning on and researching for the future.

      No problem :) it's good initially to have the support but soon you will find your own feet in the country and things will start to feel like home. Good luck for wuen you decide to move :)

    Hey what did you mean get your certificate certifide ? Eg . Birth certificate certified ? like did you have to go to the uk embassy and do that ? ❤️

    • @EveHemingway
      @EveHemingway  4 роки тому

      Hey, so you have to get certificates certified in order to obtain visas. Certain certificates like criminal record check and degree certificates need a notary signature then you send it to the government to get it certified. Then you can give it to your new country to get visas. For birth certificates you don't need to get a notary signature but you do still need to get it certified.
      It was an absolute nightmare which is why i suggest doing it before you go

    Hi Eve! So I have a couple of questions, My family and I live in the United States and we found a property in Southern Italy that we fell in love with and we were thinking about purchasing the property and moving. But we just feel like we don't know where to start... We don't know where we can get a job if we do move overseas.

    • @EveHemingway
      @EveHemingway  4 роки тому

      Hello! I would suggest looking for similar jobs you have in the US and go from there. My aunty lives in Italy and she teaches English so there's always that option too :)

      The economy in southern Italy is/has been really struggling for a very long time so it won’t be easy. If you speak Italian very well you may be able to get a hospitality job, but don’t expect to be paid nearly what you make in the US. Most professionals leave Italy to make better pay (even than in Milan or Rome). The best case scenario is to work remotely and go with savings. Best of luck to you and your family. (I don’t live in Italy but my husbands family does and this is info from them).

    Hi. I'm in a long distance relationship with my partner who's in California. I'm in the UK. I'm looking to move there with my 6yr old which is pretty stressful. How come you didnt want to stay in California? X

    • @EveHemingway
      @EveHemingway  5 років тому +2

      Hey! We really wanted to live in California but it was so stressful with trying to get visas as my partner is Vietnamese rather than American. Vietnam seemed more obtainable for now but we definitely want to move once we get more experience. Good luck with your move! I know how stressful it can be x

    What company did you use to get your certificate certified?

      I used Hague Apostille. It's a bit pricey but they do it all for you so you don't need to worry about it

    It's not a kimono that the child is wearing. It is a Chinese dress. China, Korea and Japan are completely different. China is a communist country, and Korea is a country of lies with nothing to see. Next year, the economy will be in trouble. Japanese people will not go sightseeing. Japan is said to be the best.We say that Japanese is difficult, but we Japanese have difficulty with English. As a result, I believe that not even 5% of us can speak English. However, they are all very kind, so there will be no problem. Nowadays, there are automatic translation machines.
