That is impressive. I’m gonna want that setup when I get mine, from me, for Christmas! As an older dude I can’t help but hear the Dali Lama scene from Caddy Shack when you speak. No disrespect at all. Be good brother!
I use calipers all the time, those flush cutters are awesome I love them, mm are the only way to go! Hey right on man, thank you, you have a great mind. By the way, excellent workspace, I'm jealous.
Oh man. No my workspace is horrible 🤣 I've taken over the kitchen and I live in my gaming chair. Wife hates it! I Stream pubg mobile, 3d print and design, Tech Airsoft guns, Build Rcs and FPV drones all in the same spot!
I would imagine you could just flip the skid plate around. Might need a custom length shaft, if you send me measurements I can adjust. Or I can make links to fit the shaft length
Could I make this work with the stock radio/receiver using the channel 3 switch? Pretty new to this kinda thing, I have no idea what that channel switch even does 😮💨😅
I want one for the FCX24 PowerWagon. I don't know if this kit would work on that but if not I bet you could sell a boat load of them if you produced them.
@@dustinbailey1980 The FMS SCX24 has two different size driveshafts with different size splines as well so there has to be more to than length. I'll check to see if either is the same size (diameter and spline) and if so I I'll get back to you. Thanks.
@@shockman8014 should be the same situation though. I make the end that goes to the u joint, and the other end you cut off a length of splined shaft and epoxy it inside the tube of the driveshaft
I do I actually have a lengthened micro shark for my personal car and with the custom length it's actually the exact same as the gladiator. Just specify gladiator or micro shark in the comments and I'll get you the right one
Does it make the rear wheels lock or does it just disconnect the rear shaft letting them spin freely? Hard to tell when the wheels aren’t on the ground 🧐
@@dustinbailey1980 you can’t set up a third position on radio to get servo to stop in the section of driveshaft that’s not locked to either tranny or the axel

Sorry for multiple questions but do you think the stock servo saver would work on the shifting fork? You could trim off the little lobe on the saver and put another hole in it but that way you can loosen the saver as much as possible and use your stock radio without worrying about burning out servos because they throw way too far with the channel 3 switch
@@dustinbailey1980 yea id still be using it with the emaxx but it doesn’t work with the stock radio because you can’t set channel 3 endpoints, which isn’t cheap to change so using the stock servo saver on the emaxx could save me a shitload o’ money if it’ll fit with the shift key
@ dirty Yo dirty, you said the emax basically sux (bummer cuz I just got two 4 packs of them, $5 each, $40 for all 8... decent deal i thought???). Are you using stock servo for steering or have you upgraded? If upgraded which servo did you choose or do you have thoughts on decent cheapie. Btw, good instructional video dude, doubt I'll do the dig mod but I watched the whole damm thing anyways.
I'm running reefs servos front and rear. The emax is definitely better than stock, I was just disappointed to learn they really don't have much torque. My boys are running them. I got 4 of them when I bought 2 of the rigs. They haven't had any trouble with them.
Are you willing to sell the stl files for this and the motor mount? I really want to set this up and I love having parts I can say I printed myself. This is absolutely incredible man! Awesome work!!
Hey one more question for you, what kV do you recommend for that surpass? I'm getting my first scx24 pretty soon and of everything I've seen you seem to be the guy to emulate. Seems they come in a few ratings. Any one you like most for controlled crawling? Oh, and pinion recommendation? (I guess that's two questions but your setup looks legit af)
@@dustinbailey1980 the other one you showed in the video at the beginning lol. Building another out of spare parts and transmissions are all out of stock😩. Awesome design on the dig setup! Just ordered one🤘

How do you set the Channel 3 endpoints using the stock transmitter?

Could I install in the front, right now my scx24 is rwd that would be cool if I could switch it to awd on the fly!

I can make them any length. I just need a measurement.

Do you make one of these for the Gladiator? The longer wheelbase is tricky on courses built for the shorter wheelbase trucks....

Does it make the rear wheels lock or does it just disconnect the rear shaft letting them spin freely? Hard to tell when the wheels aren’t on the ground 🧐
Being a top loader style axle it locks up pretty good. The worm gear is pretty hard to turn if you turn the tire and not the driveshaft
If you have a 3 position switch will this dig unit do 4 wheel drive , rear free spin, and rear lock
unfortunately the driveshaft just disconnects. technically it would be free spin but the top drive differential locks up without the input

I believe there would be too steep of angles on the shorter shaft causing binding on the shift fork

You could always drill holes to match up.
@@dustinbailey1980 I just wasn’t sure if it would fit because it sticks out more from the servo than the servo horn we’d normally use on the emaxx
You could notch the opening in the servo mount and even use spacers under the servo mounting ears.
