Commenting who I think is on this list before I watch. 1. Christian Watson (Injury concerns being the main reason. Can he stay healthy at least MOST of the season?) 2. Eric Stokes (Again - Injury concerns) 3. Anders Carlson (Obviously didn't have a stellar rookie season by any means. Can he perform way better this season?) 4. Josh Myers (Hasn't lived up to his draft selection honestly. He's got to beat out the rookie Monk firstly, but also has to perform amazingly to get extended/new contract. He played better at the tail end of the season but need him to really take that next step and be an anchor on that Oline this year.) Honorable mention: AJ Dillion (A fan favorite obviously, but again hasn't lived up to that 2nd round draft selection. He looks leaner and meaner than he has previously, but it's really his job to lose. He's got to produce this year every chance he gets. If he does, I'd imagine they extend or give him a new contract as RB2 or FB1, obviously fullback isn't the premier position it once was, and we haven't had a player worth keeping as FB since John Kuhn.) I'm sure there are other players I could mention like a Sean Rhyan but honestly, we haven't gotten to see what he's capable of yet. You could even mention Jlove to a degree. Can he perform like he did the last half of the season all season long and show he's taken that step to be QB1 and worth the 55-60M+/yr contract he's fixing to get? Absolutely stoked (pun intended) for this season and to see what this offense and Defense are truly capable of. I'm not sure which I'm more hyped about though, getting to see year 2 of this offense with Jlove? or to see if this Defense is finally capable of performing with all the draft capital, we've invested in it over the years and if we finally have an aggressive D-Cord. that we've been screaming for all these years.
If Clark doesn’t get extended this offseason, I would potentially put him on this list. He wants to be paid as a top dt but imo he has been slowing down. I’m not saying he’s bad or anything but isn’t worth top dollar. Many disagree with me but I don’t think he is on the same level as he was a few years ago
@@brandon54 New scheme should help him honestly, but I'm not sure he's on this list honestly. Could I see it? sure - the packers move on sooner rather than later on players who aren't performing. I think it would be a major loss on the Dline, but if they grabbed a premium DT in a trade or moved up for one falling next year? Wouldn't be upset. So, I don't disagree with you, but not sure I agree 100% either. I think the question is, if we don't extend him, who do we put in his place that produces similar or better? I'd like to have an answer for that before we gash the middle of our Dline like that. It's a premium position IMO.
@@Lethal97 I hope he gets better with this new defense. I can see both sides but imo he doesn’t necessarily stop the run or finish plays once he gets in the backfield. There were so many games last year where I thought to myself, “Is Kenny Clark even playing?” Even some of his best plays last year were only made possible because someone else was able to disrupt the line. I’d rather trade him than extend him on super high money. I feel that if we are going to give big money to him, I would rather probably just trade for a better dt and pay them, especially if the packers believe they are in win now mode
Christian isn't on a make or break yet. This is year 3 of his 4 year rookie contract. I say next year definitely is his make or break if he doesn't step up to his rookie year potential this season
@@TheStrykerX he can be traded if he doesn’t perform. It’s a make or break year for him. He can be replaced by Bo Melton and Wicks alone. And they’re cheaper.
I had everyone but Keisean Nixon, simply because Nixon really doesn’t fall into the Bas definition, as it relates to this video. Sure Nixon could lose his job as the nickel, but I don’t think the Packers signed him to a 3 year contract to fill that role. They proved that when they drafted 4 DB’s, two of which (Bullard and King) could probably supplant Nixon right now. The guy I had in place of Nixon is Royce Newman. Newman is essentially out the door. The only question is if the Packers are ready to close it on him. Newman’s contract and play point to the Packers moving on from him. Experience is the only thing I could see as a reason the Packers would keep Newman around, and I don’t think that is enough.
Personally, I think Newman is gone even if he performs well this season. You could keep him around as a solid depth player, but why not just draft more depth next year in the draft? Cheaper and younger + can develop those players on that cheap 4-year contract. I'd say the writing has been on the wall for Royce Newman the last 2 years. I'd not got as far as he gets cut in training camp, just because he is depth on the Oline, but I'd say he's gone after this season for sure. Unless he has a HOF like season, but I think we all know he's not going to have that type of season and he won't even be a starter to say the least.
I can't be the only one who thinks we didn't miss out on corner. Michelle had elite potential but was anyone else good enough to draft over what we have already? I liked Melton because he's explosive but Kool aid is slow and Arnold is a zone heavy player.
Lmao funny how u keep saying this when aj dillon has been way more productive then williams ever was but because he was drafted in the 2nd round yall hold that against him

Definitely agree with the Keisean Nixion, but like you said - I think he remains as a kick return specialist if he does have a bad year again as the nickel cornerback. Curious as to what your honorable mentions would've been though had you had any in the video. I was fairly close to what you thought as well, just slightly out of order with who I thought was a make-or-break year. I think all Packer fans would agree with the Eric Stokes, Josh Myers and AJ Dillion though - just players who haven't lived up to the draft capital spent on them or have been injury riddled since being in the league. I think AJ Dillion is going to be an absolute menace this year or he'll perform similar to like he did last year. I'd hate to see him go just because of his character and how much he loves GB and the team. Not many players are willing to take less to stay where they were drafted. I almost wonder if he'd take the vet minimum to stay on the Packers in future years as the FB if they offered it to him. I'm sure he would - because he's gone on record stating he'd be the long snapper if it meant he could stay in GB. Another lengthy comment and I could go on and on about the Packers. Loved the video, Bas. Keep up the great work.
Aj Dillion is a terrible runner. Never seen a guy that big consistently go down on 1st contact. He had that 1 good year and got KOed in that postseason game and coughed up the ball. Hated that pick with a passion. We will see if injury riddled Josh with a bad hammie already can replace my man Jones. Rode him to a fantasy title.
