Yeah man! They okay'd recreational travel within your own health region and I'm tired of diving around Vancouver. Sunshine Coast is fair game. Still missing the island but at least it's something different!

Geez man I went to Britannia beach last Sunday at 11 and it was so muddy that after you pass the misty layer all the light has been blocked off and can't see shit lol the flashlight that I put on my camera case has only 3 led bulbs. The place you went is much better!
Yeah it wasn't to bad where we were. A nice bright torch is good for those days. The first time I dove Britannia it was like that too. Still fun, but obviously can't beat the good days!
Few 20th century machine made bottles are sought by collectors and thus have little value. Hand blown bottles with embossing from the 19th century or early 20th century may be quite valuable depending on rarity and demand. Many very collectible 19th century bottles from the US have been found north all the way to Alaska.

Shooting fish on air? I thought that was a big no no. Also at 9:26, is that a rock scallop? Seen some huge ones on the coast but never grabbed one. Regs are always a bit confusing for bi-valves.
Yeah man, scuba spearfishing is frowned upon by breath hold spearfishermen. No really skilled involved, almost like taking candy from a baby. It's legal though and Fred was the captain so the decision was his. And unfortunately scallops are closed up and down the coast. They are open in a few areas next to fish farms but the majority of the areas are closed 😔

They will teach all the necessary fundamentals in order to dive safely and explore depth. Lots of physiological changes happen to your body when you dive, without a proper understanding of the risks you can be injured or worse. Generally longer breath holds come with more relaxation and flexibility. The calmer and more relaxed you are, the less O2 your body consumes. Spend a few mins on the surface laying motionless and calming yourself down before you descend.

I hope i get it this week and Can go for a dive on Saturday. I didn't order a new light though. My old one wont be bright enough. I wanted to ask you, which one did you make? I recall you saying you made a light in another video. Is that correct? If so, i'd like to support you in anyway I can.

I have never been up there yet. I looked around Google maps though and lots of areas look promising. Just look around for some rocky shoreline and jump in! Rockfish and Lingcod daily limit is 3 in that area so pretty generous! I'm jealous man, some pretty nice looking coastline in that area.

@@PNWSamson I have a had a 3+ from my sons baseball games which were about 2hrs a game and the video quality is amazing and captured a bunch of great games. With the built in BT and the app I would pause it between innings from the stands which was cool. Even took it to Osoyoos and played around with there but only about 7-8 feet deep. Wife said stop the people swimming are getting scared…lol
It's hit and miss man. Some days great and some days horrid. Algae blooms come and go. Generally later is the season things improve. Around the lower mainland we also have to deal with the Fraser River sending all the freshest down the river. We gotta be dedicated and motivated to be divers around here!
I generally find the visibility is pretty good all year round once you get below 10-12m (30-35ft). The water is generally more clear in the winter months...as it's colder, but through the warmer summer months the phytoplankton really begin to multiply and visibility drops considerably by the end of summer on the surface. Like I said though...I've never had issues below 35ft, even in the middle of summer & I live in Sechelt :)
@@roryhassett9581 nice man. Though it does clear up at depth, it's still super dark with all the much overhead and not as enjoyable imo. A good torch definitely helps. My favorite time to dive is in the winter when the algae dies off but that's generally when the fishing closes. I like the unpredictable nature of diving in BC. Makes us appreciate the good days and stronger mentally!
Hi, i was thinking about buying this wetsuit but 3 or 5 mm so i was wondering what size would you reccomend I am 17 yrs old good built, 170lbs and 6'05''. Thank you.
@@renatogiljevic3146 I think the large should fit you good. I'm 5'8'' and around 155 and the medium was perfect. As for thickness, I dive off the west coast of Canada and we need a 7mm. I'm not to sure what thickness people dive with in the Med but I'm thinking 3-5mm would be about right. Less neoprene, less weight on your belt. If you can get away with it, get the 3mm if it's open cell.

When does the seaweed and viz situation improve in the PNW? Not much to see out there right now!
