The Power of Methylation to restore metabolic imbalance is just coming to the surface of our awareness. We live in a world that stresses our global methylation balance by exposure to environmental toxins, hormone disrupters, stressors and nutritional imbalances.
Hawthorn University Holistic Health and Nutrition Webinar Series welcomes Dr. Bridget Briggs, MD for her presentation The Power of Methylation.
In this webinar we hope to explain the impact of methylation on clinical outcomes, how to test for imbalances and how to recommend nutritional and lifestyle support to restore health. We will illustrate the significance of 10 single nucleotide polymorphisms on global methylation and how clinical patterns are affected by each single nucleotide polymorphism.
Dr. Bridget Briggs is a board certified family medicine provider who graduated from UCSD School of Medicine, did her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed her Residency in Family Medicine in 2001. She followed the traditional practice of Western based medicine until her son was diagnosed with brain cancer at age 4. While caring for her son, she quickly realized that Western based medicine lacked what Functional and Integrative Medicine offered. The long road of taking care of her son with cancer enticed her to get board certified in integrative and functional medicine via the AIHM and IFM. Today she practices functional medicine in an insurance based setting, specializing in personalized medicine using neutragenomics, advanced nutritional testing, bio-identical hormones, advance lipids, weight management and healthy gut restoration. Today her son is 20 years and is a daily reminder of the power of implementing personalized medicine in the management of many diseases.
