Been waiting for the next video from you, and you haven't disappointed me in this new one....Great work....I enjoy the way you put together your videos....Waiting for the next one
A rather interesting video AC, nice work! You were not joking when you said that W7T was a monster. On the CSX here, we've been having our share of problems...seems more so now that Harrison took over......hmmmmm. A derailment one day, leading to detours over the NYS&W, trains going into emergency left and right, and more recently a train splitting apart. What's next? lol. Awesome video once again.
Thanks Scott.. Hunter Harrison.. My condolences to all of you CSXers.. It's bad enough over on this side of the tracks, just wait till ole' Hunter starts running his 20,000 foot land barges all over the line.. :-( Shakes head..
Thank you for your sympathy, lol. It is going to be quite interesting to see how things continue to develop. I've heard that there's a lot of motive power that he wants gone, so he's putting a lot of the good stuff in the dead lines :-(
At 23:30 , there's my Nicole again! I've been missing her. Great vid and wonderful narration. Really nice to watch! Keep up the good work. Thanks for the upload. Cheers, Dan
Wow, this video took some time to edit. But you obviously did a bang up job. Great work, along with your voice-over narration. The purple people eater number 7333, has a radio transmitter on board, which is creating resonant harmonic frequencies, which were able to interfere with your camera's image stabilization software; hence the video tearing, every time the engineer keyed the Microphone, to activate the transmitter. I'm pretty sure the railroads, need to upgrade to a digital trunking system for their voice communication's networks. Public Safety radio systems, across the nation, for the most part, have made their transition to digital trunking as many as ten to fifteen years ago. In fact some have already adopted upgrades to second and in some cases to the third generation within their system. For those, who have those many different levels of home and portable scanners, with all of these different system, sure have found the manufacturers such as Uniden, to have their engineers scrambling to keep up with the changes. The most sophisticated of these scanners will accept factory installed upgrades.
Thanks, Tim.. I'm glad you like the video but, no, the radio didn't interfere with my scanner.. I "put" that effect in the video purposely for creativity! LOL..
wow the ex-CEFX SD9043mac is hot. I juust love that livery on such a hot locomotive :-) Thanks T21, your vids are great man! I love the information you narrate
That's awesome! Did you hear the crew call it that on the radio or something? Because I had the 7333 coming back from mechanicville a little over a month ago, and I used a sharpie and wrote "Giant purple people eater" inside the cab above the Conductors seat lol never heard anyone else call it that
Nice Job AC I had tons of tons of good foreign power on the NS Harrisburg Line with UP I had 9 UP 1 CP this week 3 NS Heritage Units massive horn shows from all kinds of different and new model units with NS and more besides going to Mcveytown Pennsylvania to see the NS593 NS4001 leading that had that derailment last week so it's been insane getting tons of ex cons and more and beyond you can think of man so I'm hype man just waiting to get my laptop to use the same software that you do man so I'm hype
Trains21 Your welcome AC can't wait to Railfan with you this year man and I have over 83 trains and more on my camera to put in a long 14 hour video on my channel man with NS heritage units trespassers talking on the phone with NS police and Pennsylvania state police and foreign power horn shows from all crews beautiful scenery on NS Harrisburg line and Pittsburgh Line and NS Lurgan Branch and port road Branch and buffalo line and Royalton Branch and Amtrak Keystone line and Strasburg RailRoad and more I might new your help with putting them all together in 1 video with your editing software on your laptop so let me know when I can go Railfan with you and do that on your laptop with you doing that good work for me I also can send you my SD card with my memory card in it in a leather in the mail to your house and buy another 64GB memory card for my camera until you could give it back to me would this be ok AC!!!!!
WOW. so cool to see the red and white CP locos there, that is almost as fun as down hear in Middle Village Queens New York City to see CP locomotives shunting freight in the yards hear in NY on the New York & Atlantic Railway that runs on the mainline tracks of the Long Island RR, I even saw quite a few CP locos on head end of freights passing my station in Hollis Queens. Wow
Looking back on the sitting of the CP locomotives on the mainline. I think that there was a shortage of power, maybe I am not sure, I did not follow up on it. But yes, CP crews lay up to get there 8, then take the next load back up. I always used to see CP Power layover at the exchange yard in Glendale, Queens NYC. One note I must say is all this was back in 2009. As of latly I have not been Fanning over at the yards for some time...my work schd has changed, and thanks to you guy's I get my fill of train fanning via UA-cam. LOL Thanks and keep up the great work. :D
Ironically I had 7333 in my Model RR fleet (w/ TCS mobile decoder) When it was CEFX 121 used to see it touch it down at Burnside WV. B/C it did not fit I’m my fleet NS or CSX I sold it. Rats had I known the future of course I would have kept it.
Nice video! How and when do you count the cars? Do you count them while in person, or when you look at the recording? Do you consider an articulated container with five sections to be one car?
Great vid AC! No doubt that EMD lead them up the hill just fine. Was wondering though, what is an outlawed crew? Is that a slap on the wrist or something worse? Thanks! Cheers, Dan
A railroad as Big and rich as NS should Never have these motives issues and just put one or two more units on these long trains, trying to save a buck if thats is their thinking will bite them in the Caboose !!! Back in the day when EL,LV, D&H and PC was around they would have 4-8 engines and the trains moved. These freights today are often heavier and they should never make these mistakes week after week ! Who the hell in in charge of the locomotive fleet !!! ? Nuts !
I know.. We say the same thing here at trackside.. The last month or two has been absolutely abysmal with trains breaking down and stalling constantly.. A lot of outlawed crews in the process.. Shakes head.
The 7333 was never owned by the A&O, just as the the INRD units were never owned by that road. The entire 40 unit order, (CEFX 100-139), was built in 1999 for joint lease to UP and CP. The A&O leased this unit as CEFX 121, (reporting marks never changed), from 2006 to 2014. It was leased to CSX briefly in 2014, before becoming 1 of 3 that were long term leased to NS. In April of 2016, NS traded 15 MP15DC's, for 10 SD90MAC's, including 121. Check out nsdash9.com/rosters for more info.
Much appreciated for your comment however I never said that A&O (or Indiana RR for that matter) ever actually OWNED the locomotives.. I said they were purchased from CITX.. Whatever the case, engines like these did in fact pull trains through West Virginia.. I saw them in person.
I was simply pointing out that the narration was misleading. It is not ex. A&O. It was leased to them and had their decal on the hood, but was not owned by them. And it did not spend the better part of 20 years hauling coal anywhere. In fact it, has probably spent more time hauling stacks and grain than anything else.
Hi 21, Anyone who likes these look-alike rolling computers over Great vintage Alcos has no idea about railroad history or just too young to know any better, Lol yes I am and old Bastard (only 58') but have seen all the great 1st and 2nd Gen power on many of the Fallen Flags Railfanning with my Father and older Brother since 1967 (9 yrs old) so many liveries Alcos, EMD, GE, Baldwin, FM, MLW it was a great time and no Dumb Ass graffiti. Argggg get of my lawn ! Lol
Great Video!!! The commentary is great!!! Good job AC!
Thanks, Tyler.. Glad you liked.. Sorry about your intro, but I needed a new computer and I wasn't online for over 3 weeks.
Been waiting for the next video from you, and you haven't disappointed me in this new one....Great work....I enjoy the way you put together your videos....Waiting for the next one
Thanks, Ken.. I haven't been able to get online for nearly a month but things are easing up now.
I've seen the 7333, never knew it had those nicknames until now. Nice video.
Thanks, Brendan.. This was my first time too.. At least out of West Virginia!

Thanks, Jon.

I like the narration. Excellent video.
Thanks, Hans.. I think it works better than the subtitles.
Great footage and narration! Thanks for posting.
No prob.. Thanks, Bernie.

Yep.. Got that straight from the crew
2017 you are welcome for the ride
Much appreciated.
AC, wonder why crew members nick named 7333 SD90/43MAC the purple people eater lol that's kind of interesting
Fantastic video's and great narration. It is nice to know what is going on at the time.
Thanks Watler..

nice job
Thanks, Sean.

That's awesome.. I didn't realize that CP diesels made it onto Long Island.. Thanks for the response.

Thanks, Gregory.. Always doing the best that I can!
You can hear that emd sound on Barney much different from those 4 stroke me engines
Nice (:
Thanks, Man.. Keep it warm over there in Russia
Awesome content
Thanks man.
258/259 were NS trains run with CP crews... once they hit the Buffalo line they were called their respective names 11/14R..
258/259 were Allentown/Binghamton CP trains.. I think you mean 458/459 which I pointed out.
Great Video dude! Love the narration and keep up the good work! One question what editing software do you use?
Thanks Guys, I use Adobe Premier.. I'm not able to get online as much as I used to but I have to catch up on your stuff one of these days.
Hindsight is 20/20
Nice video! How and when do you count the cars? Do you count them while in person, or when you look at the recording? Do you consider an articulated container with five sections to be one car?
I count them when viewing the recording.. I call and articulated 5 cars.. NS considers it 1 car.
Enjoyed it plus the narration. What becomes of an "out-lawed crew" Disciplined? Or worse?
Thanks, Mark.. "Outlawing" is when a train crew runs out of working time in a 24-hour period.. For most crews it's 12 hours.
Great vid AC! No doubt that EMD lead them up the hill just fine. Was wondering though, what is an outlawed crew? Is that a slap on the wrist or something worse? Thanks! Cheers, Dan
Thanks, Dan.. "Outlawing" is when a train crew runs out of working time in a 24-hour period.. Kinda' like us truckers.. For most crews it's 12 hours.

Trains21 Sorry. I'll never try to help again.
Train's 21 hey my name is Ian ray jr and I love train's I was born with it and I love them I am in North Carolina.
what is the purpose of turning the engines at the wye.........what am i missing here.....thanks for any information. it's appreciated......
They had to turn the power because of a mechanical problem.
It's a shame how NS ruined the Sunbury. It got hit really hard when PSR came around
When the SD 90’s were rebuilt ......was it a mechanical rebuild only or was the nose modified as well?
