Train travel is by far the best way of travelling around Europe. In this video, you will see what it is like to travel onboard Europe's FASTEST Train, in LUXURIOUS First Class seats, across some of the most BREATHTAKING landscape you see from a train carriage. Join me as I travel onboard Italy's Flagship FRECCIAROSSA 1000 High Speed Train from Milan to Paris across the beautiful French Alps
@@Jack_Rice In Canada they are talking about high speed rail between Quebec City and Windsor Ontario but this has been going on for years. Europe especially central Europe know how to entice consumers on public transport especially if its less than six hours. No airport hassles and fast travel wish we had this at home Ottawa to Toronto is 6 hours by train high speed could cut that in half
Jack, thank you very much, your video is excellent, I'm just planning a trip, I was going to take a car, I knew the place Modan, and now that I've seen it, I prefer to travel by train. I also realized that it is not that expensive. many thanks!
Indeed a train travel between many of the European biggest cities worth a lot more than the flying experience. Longer roads to the, not always close, airports, plus a long time necessary for the check in, security and passport control, pre boarding and yet many times a long taxing time until take off. As a retiree from the commercial airlines I flew for most of my travels, including destinations closed by, however the best memories are on the rail platforms facing those long trains and the scenery provided by the window. Keep on the rail, please!
Great video thank you. I am tempted to take the train from London to Milan via Paris now! I wanted to visit Venice, San Marino and Rimini as well as perhaps Florence so getting to Milan by train would be perfect. I first visited Rimini, San Marino and Venice in a school summer holiday trip in 1983 in a coach from London and based at a hotel in Rimini. Most memorable and I want to go again. But not by plane and this is faster and more comfortable than by coach.
Loved your video. I just came back from a trip to Milan. I went to Venice and Florence by high speed trains (Italo, in my case), and I loved it. I will consider taking this Freciarossa for a short trip to Paris next time I go to Milan. Greetings from Brazil~~~
Me ha gustado mucho tu video. He disfrutado las vistas, la estación de Milán es hermosa (gracias por ofrecer un contexto histórico del lugar). Saludos desde México.
One quibble I have is about leg room in seats facing each other. Two long legged people sitting opposite would have a hard time avoiding playing footsie under the table.
I agree with you, Mr. Rice, because spend or waste time moving between Milano and Paris using this international line, instead of taking an airplane, does not have a cost. You paid one € price to enjoy the Alps sightseeing. What good luck had you. I am also a little bit fortunately, because I am living in Barcelona and there are one direct train to Paris Gare du Nord.
Was the direct train from Paris to Milan cancelled? I can't find any tickets on any website, they all appear with one or more stops. I tried different days and no direct train service appears.
Are you sure. They seem to appear on the websites to me like Trainline or Trentalia. Also, FYI, there are only 2-3 trains per day between the two cities, and they seem to depart in the early hours of the morning, around 6AM.
I’ve been researching this journey for a trip I’m taking in August. There was a landslide on this line (between Lyon and Madrid) about 6 months ago and probably won’t be fixed until summer at the earliest 😢
Thank you, @thomasero842. In answer to your question, both sides will get you a stunning alphine view. But on the left side also, you will get a great view of the beautiful lake in Chambery.
@@Jack_Rice I agree - sans faire rien. - both are good. My wife and I did this journey last month on the afternoon service which brings you into Paris at going up to 11 pm, so we didn't see much between Lyon and Paris. As it happens, we were in seats 15 and 16 in coach D - where Jack was. We had cheaper, advanced booked tickets in standard class on the train the day before but couldn't make it as our connecting train from Venice to Milan was cancelled due to a rail strike. This proved to be very expensive as only business class seats were left for the following day and as the previous day's Milan - Paris train wasn't cancelled, the very helpful Trenitalia man at Venice could only re-imburse our Venice - Milan tickets. We lost our pre-paid hotel in Paris, needed to find somewhere to stay another night in Venice, needed to 'manage' our return Eurostar journey at some cost and tear-up our tickets for the London to Wigan leg. Asked the lovely chatty lady at Euston if Trenitalia, as part owners of Avanti West Coast would foot the bill; she, of course, simply smiled sweetly. We think we convinced her that next time she goes back to visit her family in Poland she should try the train. This hiccup won't stop us from avoiding the madness and stress of airport security and check-ins. It's all so much more civilised at St. Pancras.
Unfortunately due to a landslide this train is no longer direct, an hour long bus link joins two different trains on either side of the pass. Generally, though, Frecciarossa trains are amazing and comfortable
Ticket prices vary according to demand. I paid £82 for my seat business class, which was booked about 1½ months beforehand. But prices for Standard Class can be picked up for as little as £45.
You're right. The flag down the side is total overkill. I was actually thinking of going Executive Class, but I wanted to ensure I could actually "see out the window"

Hi loved the video. It is easy to go from any city in Europe to another. The trains are luxury and very comfortable.
Greetings and successes to you
Thank you! 😃
Within the next 10 years, when the high speed line between Turin and Lyon will be completed, this trip will take only a little more than 4 hours!
Great video, I've taken that journey, and your video brought back many fond memories.... Thanks for uploading.

hello, were there any border controls along the journey?
No. But you should carry ID.
The cafe car looks cramped with no seating. Thanks for the ride.
Amazing journey views.

Right Here ⬇️

really good video :)
Is this the only seating layout avilable in this train? I never prefer this type of seats 😂😌
I not sure what you mean by that
Very nice trains and lovely scenery 😍
very nice video 😊
Thank you 😊
Really nice and useful video. Planning the same trip later this summer. Would you recommend left or right side for the Alpine scenic views?

I've heard the line might not reopen until the end of 2024. I hope they manage to get it reopened ASAP.
Trenitalia should dim those blinding bright lights please.
I did Paris Milan in the infamous sleeper train, the one you had to keep an eye open when sleeping because it was so not safe at all.
Really, I didn't even know that there once was a sleeper train between Paris and Milan.
Was it unsafe? I remember door locks and all, plus the staff was constantly there.

Jack, for the next video you should do a trip report on TGV Lyria from Paris, France to Geneva, Switzerland
Thank you for the suggestion.
Check the 👨✈️👨✈️document moden? This train .😉
Ma...e la grande velocità dov'è???
Best speed is between Lyon and Paris
When will they finally pull off the european flag from the executive class??? It totally destroyed the nice view.😮😮

Hi, Travel = cost, would be nice to address it right at the beginning of the video.
Noted!
Its in the description 93 Euros
It's 300 km/h instead of 400
I meant that the train itself is built for 400km/h, not our journeys top speed
Why does the front bit of the train have a European flag
I think it's might be something to do with the fact that these train can operate in multiple European countries. But I'm honestly not sure.
Thank you!
this business class ? hahahaha in our country this is economy class
Where do you come from?
