- Sound clip of the Akrapovic Carbon Race exhaust on a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07. Camera is a Sony Action Cam; Mic is an external Sony mic ziptied onto the passenger foot peg.
Doesn't really sound too much like it does in person. I think the mic was too close to the pipe, but I'm not sure I could have found a better spot for it. - Авто та транспорт
i got this same exhaust installed on my mt07 today and OMG! honestly i had been looking on utube for weeks and let me tell you this is the closest sound you will find on youtube to what it sounds in real life. its incredibly LOUD!! sounds like your shooting an assault rifle from under your seat. i love it!!

I like it. Headphones is the way to go to listen to this machine. I love that exhaust system. I like the looks of the curved pipe takes be back to my motorcross days. LOL
did you get any sort of check engine light when installing? Also do you have the ecu tuned?
In your description you mentioned it doesn't like it does in person, implying it sounds worse or better in person?
Better, of course. The "tone" is basically the same... the thump, etc. You don't get a real sense of the true volume from the video, as well as the video's sound being a bit distorted due to wind and the fact that it's only a $200 external microphone, not some professional mic.

Robert Goller Thank god! I just bought a carbon for my FZ and the neighbors would be on my lawn with torches and pitch forks if mine was that loud with the baffle in. That sounds awesome! reminds me of a 74' Pantera. I can't wait till I get mine with an EJK controller installed! Hot damn, hot damn, HOT DAMN!!!!!

Is this the full system, or just the slip-on?
Akrapovic doesn't make a slip-on for the FZ-07; the stock exhaust is all one piece.
+Robert Goller You get an air filter or power commander with it? If not, how much backfire do you get (if any...)?
Nope and nope. And barely any. Modern FI systems are pretty good.
yeah, I think especially with smaller engines they don't have to compensate much. With my 1900cc yamaha raider even just replacing the exhaust was giving me a fair amount of backfire before i got my power commander. I'll probably just end up replacing everything on my FZ anyways. thanks
+Robert Goller actually there are slip on exhausts from akra. just like with any slip on for the fz07 you have to actually saw off like half yhe stock exhaust to make it work. But there are slip ons.
