My dad died this morning after battling cancer for fifteen years. This song perfectly captures how I feel right now. Yeah, it hurts more than I can ever put into words, and I doubt it will ever stop hurting, but I'll keep going.
Sorry bro I know exactly how that feels, I lost my mom 3 years ago, but we will get through this pain bro, and I know man same this song makes me feel better man love this band, keep your head up bro
"And the nights may be a little darker, but I’ll be sure to carry the torch to warm the hearts that never got to feel yours" - wow, what a beautiful line... what a beautiful song...
My back is covered in lyrics, the beach near my house is covered in names, and everyone who asks me about my "first tattoo" gets a face full of how powerful this is❤❤❤
"Until then I'll walk, Until then I'll breathe in your name! Never surrender the dream you had for this world To love To forgive To make something out of nothing!"
what i love about august burns red is that you don't have to be a christian or really even spiritual at all to get something out of their lyrics. regardless of your personal beliefs, where you come from or who you are they write something that we as humans can all relate to.
+adam 2 point 0 , That is exactly what christian metal is all about. It's for bringing the word of God to those who may never hear it in any other way. You don't have to be Christian to understand the song or the lyrics, the same way you don't have to be christian to understand Christianity. It's purpose is to tell the world about Christ, and make things easy to relate to.
I totally agree, Matthew. They don't want to shove Christianity down everyone's throats because they would rather show the love of God and the love in their hearts for the people that need it. I think that's why most people turn away from Christians in the first place because all they hear from them is "turn or burn", but ABR likes to love instead of hate. That's what makes ABR my favorite band, personally.
Vojtěch Jesus is not fictional thank you! Jesus is real as you and me. He's coming back. Now wouldn't that be foolish to say that nonsense and he returns. Oh, what a fool you'll look like when you're crying... Be careful with your words! Majority of us won't live to see our grandchildren born(those of younger generations-90s). This is the last few year this Earth has left. Instead of cursing and blaspheming against God. Take a good look around you and can you not obviously tell that there's too much evil and hatred in this world to not accept the fact that everything that's happening today is prophesied in the Bible??? Everything we're witnessing is all part of the Grand Plan that God has foretold, since hundreds and thousands of years ago.
Aubre Powell and it's sentiments like this that make the choice of not having faith so easy. Prophesize the coming all you want - it won't make you more right than the past hundreds who have claimed the same. Believing something should or will happen does not make it fact - even if you believe you are led by someone who would call themselves a prophet. Though I suppose if you say that the world is coming to an end for long enough - it's bound to happen by pure chance isn't it?
Then after you're done with _Constellations_, go listen to _Leveler_. Some great songs off that one like: "Empire" (my personal favorite), "Internal Cannon"; and "Salt and Light". Also, _Rescue & Restore_ (their latest album and the one that this song is on) is pretty good, too.
I've worked with several patients that have left this world during my time in health care, but this song hit me on another level when Covid 19 hit. A beautiful soul, genuine soul went home to God recently. The entire team I'm apart of felt it. Profound sadness. This song brings me catharsis. I wish I could express how much this song means to me to his spouse. I'll carry the torch to warm hearts fellas. That's my promise as a healthcare worker. Great song. Thanks
I have heard this song over and over again for the past few years, i have always loved the way the music was arranged, it was a banger. But it was only until recently that the song brought a million tears to my eyes, when I actually listened to the lyrics... My wife and I lost our son to a stillborn pregnancy back in '16. It absolutely devastated my wife, it has taken my wife all her strength to grow from it. Time we go on vacation near or around a beach, she always makes a point to write his name in the sand. It's always a somber moment for us. I've always felt like i haven't really grieved him properly, and I've resented myself for it. Until moments like today when out of nowhere, I'm bawling in my office here at work.. It feels like wounds I didn't know existed are healing. I have this song to thank for that. After a lot of trouble, we are finally expecting in November. Thank you for this beautiful song.
Damn, man, powerful stuff. I’ve always loved this song aswell as ABR as a whole. A close friend of my family and I past away last week at 31 due to a tumor. This song has never hit harder than it does now.
Only ABR knows how to write these godlike endings to their songs that gives me serious goosebumps every time I listen, and they always build a perfect lead-up to that ending that just makes you think "Holy smokes, they just made something incredible again". This ending, Twenty-One Grams and Spirit Breaker are a few that I feel like that about.
Garrick Hoffman Everlasting Ending is by far my favorite song. I got the instrumental album on Spotify and i listen to the ending about 8 times a day. Dustin can really write emotion in music.
I agree! The ending of Everlasting Ending is so uplifting and emotional at the same time. It's like the guitars were singing along to the song. The ending of this song is awesome as well, it just makes you wanna lay down and cry. ;-;
My son lost his sister tragically. He's a firemedic now because of her lifelong struggle with epilepsy. He's determined to help others who suffer. This song inspired his first tattoo in memory of his sister Mia. I wish you could see it. It's beautiful. Your words help our hearts feel better and remind us of the hope we have in Christ. Powerful song. Thanks!
i just lost my aunt this past weekend and the part when he says " thats ok because I can feel you in my heart" really sinked in thank you ABR.. thanks for the music for the inspiration..thank you
Best part of this song is how they start the main riff in the minor scale when the song starts off in a more sad nature. But as the song progresses until the end the same riff is turned into the major scale in the end to turn on a more positive vibe with the lyrics following the theme. Really underlooked detail.
I remember buying this cd on the day it came it cause I received the worst news in my life 10 mins after buying it my Grandma was going to die of cancer. I listend to the album listend to these lyrics and cried. Few days later you guys played warped in Arizona was a hard set to watch with all that was going on. Then your tour after that you played the Marquee then this song came on I smiled and with the tears in my eyes I danced and ran into the pit Rescue and Restore is the closest cd to my heart for that very reason. I always loved ABR but this song made ABR closer to my heart then any band could ever come.
Nothing speaks to you more than Metal when it comes to music. People cant get past the screaming which is unfortunate cuz thats where the emotion is driven from. if you took out the screaming the songs lose the power they posess. My wife bought me VIP tickets to meet these guys. which was probably the best gift ever, these guys helped me so much in my addiction battle Im honestly not sure I couldve gotten through it without them. So I was thrilled to share my story with them. Im not a religious man in any sense, although people classify them as "Christian Metal" I have to argue that because they dont push their beliefs but they write from the heart, and past experiences which is powerful. I wish these guys all the health and success they deserve and hope they dont stop writing. they are melodic masters when it comes to writing music and hope they never cave to a record label just to get more sales. Keep rockin boys!!
I love this band because they're so much unlike every other metal band out there. They don't try to be people they aren't they are obviously just a bunch of friends making music that is so amazing. They don't wear make up or try to be scene or anything they just are themselves. And I love that.
Not the most creative video, but I still love it because this song is so amazing. They've been my favorite band for a while now, and I don't expect that to change any time soon!
Normally I don't comment on UA-cam and this'll probably not get seen but I am a huge ABR fan since Messengers. Some songs I really get into and know all the lyrics/meaning behind them, some I like but never really looked into the lyrics like this one. This song has been constantly playing and initially I didn't think anything of it. I decided to look up the lyrics today since I keep hearing it and it broke me hard as it is exactly what I need because I recently experienced a tragedy of suddenly losing my wife followed by my mom 2 days later. They leave behind myself and 2 young kids that absolutely needed them both in their life. Thank you ABR for this uplifting gift of hope and encouragement!

My brother was murdered at age 19 , i write his name everywhere, but i honestly cant remember what the weather was when i got the phone call. 😢😢😢😢 this song is unbelievable.
I agree, though it's not surprising. Matt has become almost as much the face of ABR as Jake in the last few years. Such a phenomenal drummer. The band as a whole is absolutely outstanding. Favorite band, hands down.
I have an abr tattoo that goes from my wrist to my shoulder. The big burning U. It’s in the name of my mother. I’m not the religious type, she is, but she was my creator and the one that taught me all that was good and how to be kind and just... so much. I always thought this song would be the one that would carry be when she passed and how “I will carry the torch-“ because she did warm a lot of hearts and care for SO many. She was so selfless and full of love. She passed 4/3/21 just before OUR birthday we share on 11/3. It was after a long battle of cancer and other struggles. This song has now come into full effect.. I hate it but.. I thank you guys for carrying me through so much and now this. You’re all absolute fucken beauties.
Jake said this song goes out to those who lost someone they love. It's very difficult to go through life without that someone by your side but one day you will be reunited. There is beauty in tragedy.
I lost my mother a few years back. I love you guys. This song really tugged at my heart strings. This song is all too beautiful boys. I shed some years listening to this. God bless and keep fuckin rocking.
i cant describe the way these songs make me feel. all i can do is feel it. its so soothing for my heart and my soul. helps me eith my spirituality. theres nothing more pure than that except for the man himself.
August Burns Red has been confirmed Warped Tour 2015. Looks like it'll be my 2nd time seeing them. Already saw them in January. Looks like 2015 is gonna be my favorite year for concerts.
So much love for this band, the message, and the example they have consistently shown of how to be the best version of yourself against all odds....20 years of Beauty in Tragedy...with the Angriest of inspirational melodic music for the Happiest of people. Make me think of what Bill & Ted set out to make with Wyld Stalyons 🙌🤘
Just saw ABR on this current tour. They are amazing! They played this song...Spirit Breaker also...incredible talent. After 16 songs, I was ready for more...
This is in my opinion the best ABR song. Beautiful lyrics alongside some of the best songwriting in their discography. Just everything about this song is perfect
This is such a beautiful song. just had a friend pass away and this has such a calming effect. The lyrics are saturated with beauty and a realness I can't describe. Thank you ABR.
You know what, I could go preaching all day and then some on how the lyrics "I will feel you, I will hear you forever," are a little hard for the Atheist to relate with. However, the lesson in this is so beautiful I cried in that calm moment. It's a sign of talent that Christian lyrics can speak in parables and when a person opposite opinion tries to find Unity with it. For he is trying to find Unity in Diversity, where university comes from. They have a long road ahead of them, us Christians have Unity in Diversity in the Community of the Trinity. Nietszche said "Without music, life would have been a mistake." How's that for Unity.
Even after the loss of both Grandparents in the time past, this song still makes me tear up alot when listening it up till today.. man this is deep. ABR u are the best ever!
My grandma is her death bed as I write this and I showed her this song and the lyrics and she was in awe and she said that's the most beautiful thing she's heard.
There is beauty in tragedy The heart won't stop beating, For the end is a new beginning Where sorrow pulls the skyline of reality And restarts a love ever after As we grasp beyond defeat So keep us breathing a little longer a little longer For just one moment with one another with one another This night is falling on my hearts shame These feelings bring tears to my eyes Just take away my world, Leave my side Hear the angels sing, As I embrace you with a warm welcome home With a warm welcome home Hear the angels sing Hear the angels sing Tomorrow, the air will be a little colder But I'll be sure to breathe for the both of us. And the nights May be a little darker But I'll be sure to carry the torch to warm the hearts They're never gonna have to feel yours I can hear your voice, I can't hear your voice But that's okay 'Cause I can feel you in my heart I can hear your voice, I can't hear your voice But that's okay 'Cause I can feel you in my heart One morning I'll wake up to you, One morning I'll hear the angels sing. On that morning we won't be worried about the weather Nor will we might wither his life While the clocks alarm. I'll be sure to write your name in the sun Where the waves can't wash it away I'll be sure to write your name in the sun Where the waves can't wash it away Until then I'll walk, Until then I'll breathe in your name! Never surrender the dream you had for this world to love, to forgive To make something out of nothing! I will feel you, I will hear you forever!
Found this song a couple days after my grandma passed a while back and it just hits hard every time...I’ll be sure to carry the torch to warm the hearts that never got to feel yours. Love you grandma.
Hey ABR I have been listening to this song for a wile and I wanted to know how much you have touched me through this song. I am not one to think God speaks through metal music very well. I mostly feel His beautiful presence when I am alone talking to Him or when I will be worshiping at church. But without of a shadow of a doubt, (and this might be cheesy so hang on and let me explain) this song is anointed by God. I have lost count how many times I will be driving home from work, and I will be playing this song through my Ipod, and I just start bawling my eyes out, because His love is just so thick in the car I just loose it. I can't explain it, it's just like His love just floods my soul when this song is played. I have listened to the lyrics so much and I came to realize that it is almost a love song from God to people in a way. And ughhh that is so beautiful. I don't know if you meant it that way or not, I just wanted to let you know that God speaks through your songs guys. You guys are without a doubt my favorite band and I wish I found you sooner, love you guys and God bless!
As someone who is recently new to this type of metal. I can say. Congrats ABR. You have gotten me hooked on your type of music for about 6 months now. This is amazing.
This song encapsulates my grandmother. I had her listen to this song with Underoth's "Some will Seek Forgiveness" which she listened to and rejected.. but this song is utterly her.. Lived and breathed the beaches of NC, and she loved and forgave everyone. She is my guide and I'll love her forever. Every time I hear this song it's her and it always will be. No matter what. I love you.
I don't think I've ever heard a better song than this. There are so many different parts of this composition, and each part connects perfectly. It's complete. I wish more people knew about this song.
My dad just told me he was diagnosed with stage 2 Brain and lymphoma cancer and he has his first radiation treatment on tuesday it’s been such a hard day but I don’t know why I thought of this song. Please send prayers.
Same here dude. These guys are the few people that is really genuine and passionate for Jesus in the genre for sure. Met the band and especially Matt several times. Humble dudes!
We have all seen musical artists begin with a mission and sign under a label proclaiming faith based music, then we see them succumb to the crowds and sell out their faith. August Burns Red has been my favourite band for well over a decade. I feel my mind's ear has loved them because God has said for it to do so. They have not sold out. They have preached. Even once when I was discouraged and down on myself, I used FB messenger to contact Matt Griener, drummer, and he messaged me back with words of encouragement and Idk, just showed me some love when I really needed it. I dont say that from a point of idolatry; I say that from a point of a brother-in-Christ that I admire took the time to set himself aside from a busy life and let me know that my God's love is everlasting, attentive, and on time every time. May God bless you all who deserve it. Go forth and deserve it.
Crazy Ive always been a fan of ABR and I just heard this song. My friend just passed away today and this song couldn't come at a better time. I almost lost it at the part in the middle where the speech came in. I couldn't stop thinking about her. ABR helping me keep my head on my shoulders. This one is for you Paige💔 I miss you. Rest easy..
Love this song, lost my mom when I was 13, but this song has helped get passed the pain love and miss her right now so much... But I know she's flying with the angels right now love you mom, I know you didn't like this music at all, but this song is for you love you 😰
Met Matt twice. He seems to really appreciate his fans. He was signing drum heads and all after the show, didn't faze him at all. I'm not even a drummer but the dude was super cool with me, even took pictures. I was star struck and he's so humble. Much respect Matt. Jake just brushed me off but ABR is still the shit.
My dad died this morning after battling cancer for fifteen years. This song perfectly captures how I feel right now. Yeah, it hurts more than I can ever put into words, and I doubt it will ever stop hurting, but I'll keep going.

I know my comment is quite outdated, but I lost my father because of cancer too, it's been 6 years already. I feel you
Big love
hope youre alive and feeling good now! just keep going
Same here this song came out the same year my younger brother passed. Their in a better place now
If there was a genre called Hopecore August Burns Red would be there. Metalcore that brings hope to the masses.
Ethan Decker I can honestly say this album and song changed my life
Angry music for happy people. And this song saved me for real after my gf died

Dropkickpennyday95 And I can speak for a lot of people when I say,
That tough time ? That made you stronger :)
A lot stronger than most of us !
The outro riff's and drum's are so fucking good on this track. It won't ever get old.
This is the most talented band out there right now. No one can disagree.
Well, yes they can.
SHA8UTIE Well yeah if ya wanna be technical about it
SHA8UTIE absolutely. people can be wrong if they want to.
Jacob Romine Well I think they're the best in their own genre.
Jacob Romine Wrong. Dream Theater.
My brother was murdered at age 19 , i write his name everywhere, but i honestly cant remember what the weather was when i got the phone call. 😢😢😢😢 this song is unbelievable.
great band great video, and finally an editor who pays attention to what the drummer is playing when making the video
Not entirely, unfortunately. Still, cant beat a live performance video.
As a drummer I agree and like to see more than just the front man in a music video! Great job ABR KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Awesome to see a Christian Band with a Christian message rocking out! Great stuff! Wow! God Bless boys!
Today marks 4 years since my moms passing.. thank you August Burns Red for being there every step of the way 😔❤️ 4/11/13 never forgotten
The way Jake communicates with his fans is beautiful.
DraculaXHunter101 I've seen them twice as well. So good live, my favorite
DraculaXHunter101 6 times allready :)
DraculaXHunter101 I lost count how many times I saw these guys live! Bought a shirt each time tough, maybe I should start counting them :D
Watched them yesterday. I got sub burnt so I'm saying I'm going into August burning red lol
So much love for this band, the message, and the example they have consistently shown of how to be the best version of yourself against all odds....20 years of Beauty in Tragedy...with the Angriest of inspirational melodic music for the Happiest of people.
Make me think of what Bill & Ted set out to make with Wyld Stalyons
🙌🤘
Just saw ABR on this current tour. They are amazing! They played this song...Spirit Breaker also...incredible talent. After 16 songs, I was ready for more...
This is in my opinion the best ABR song. Beautiful lyrics alongside some of the best songwriting in their discography. Just everything about this song is perfect
4 years ago my stepdad passed away. This song has kept me strong for years!! Still wish I could see it live!
This is such a beautiful song. just had a friend pass away and this has such a calming effect. The lyrics are saturated with beauty and a realness I can't describe. Thank you ABR.
Oh my gosh...this literally gave me goosebumps!! My new fav for sure!❤️❤️
Same until now!!!!!
Fucking amazing. Favorite band for sure.
Me too
You know what, I could go preaching all day and then some on how the lyrics "I will feel you, I will hear you forever," are a little hard for the Atheist to relate with.
Very proud to say I own almost all their albums on vinyl in under 48hrs! Just missing messengers and sleddin, 100% buying those next year.
Eventually I will to
❤ RIP JEFF MY FAVORITE BROTHER I KNOW UR WITH ME IN MY HEART
My grandma is her death bed as I write this and I showed her this song and the lyrics and she was in awe and she said that's the most beautiful thing she's heard.
There is beauty in tragedy
The heart won't stop beating,
For the end is a new beginning
Where sorrow pulls the skyline of reality
And restarts a love ever after
As we grasp beyond defeat
So keep us breathing a little longer a little longer
For just one moment with one another with one another
This night is falling on my hearts shame
These feelings bring tears to my eyes
Just take away my world,
Leave my side
Hear the angels sing,
As I embrace you with a warm welcome home
With a warm welcome home
Hear the angels sing
Hear the angels sing
Tomorrow, the air will be a little colder
But I'll be sure to breathe for the both of us.
And the nights
May be a little darker
But I'll be sure to carry the torch to warm the hearts
They're never gonna have to feel yours
I can hear your voice,
I can't hear your voice
But that's okay
'Cause I can feel you in my heart
I can hear your voice,
I can't hear your voice
But that's okay
'Cause I can feel you in my heart
One morning I'll wake up to you,
One morning I'll hear the angels sing.
On that morning we won't be worried about the weather
Nor will we might wither his life
While the clocks alarm.
I'll be sure to write your name in the sun
Where the waves can't wash it away
I'll be sure to write your name in the sun
Where the waves can't wash it away
Until then I'll walk,
Until then I'll breathe in your name!
Never surrender the dream you had for this world to love, to forgive
To make something out of nothing!
I will feel you, I will hear you forever!
The interlude had to be being as an ocean influences I swear
I love this
I feel that on another level.
Found this song a couple days after my grandma passed a while back and it just hits hard every time...I’ll be sure to carry the torch to warm the hearts that never got to feel yours. Love you grandma.
Love this song! Very exciting!! 😍♬
Indeed!!! 🎉🎉🎉😎 😂
I lost my mother two weeks ago. I'm glad I remembered this song.

Probably the greatest song I've heard in a very long time, and I listen to a lot of different music
That's awesome 👌 👏
Hearing this live man. I can't wait to see them again in November
Truth told in an epic way. I LIKE IT.
You guys are without a doubt my favorite band and I wish I found you sooner, love you guys and God bless!
is it time for them to make new music yet? ive been blasting Rescue & Restore for a while now.
Hasn't it been out for less than a year?
I thought it came out in 12 or 13
Joe Lisenby '13. They've been touring like mad since it came out.
They're actually in the studio recording now.
JB has written about 6-7 songs for the next record.
That news makes me happy.
That's amazing! God bless you all!
pwd and abr the few metalcore bands that can make tears run down your face
Include As I Lay Dying
AILD is another good band. Oh, the memories! (Tim's situation is a let down...)
check out architects
This makes you cry too?😭
@@giannistsakirakis7305 Hollow Crown made me cry soo hard
As someone who is recently new to this type of metal. I can say. Congrats ABR. You have gotten me hooked on your type of music for about 6 months now. This is amazing.
Never gets old
Nope!! 🎉🎉
I love you.
How could anyone dislike this song? It's so amazing, very inspiring. 💟
Nope! I'm ito it. hope they have vivald's four season.
These days, this song could really help a lot of people. I've I always loved this jam.
Ultimate love song right here.
I love that these guys are still making music together. Been listening to them since highschool and even their new stuff gives me shivers.
This song is beautiful, they are playing in San Diego next month, and I bought my ticket the day it was announced :D
JB makes me cry with that solo... I love him and Matthew Greiner ♡♡♡
man they still hit hard!
Ruth Ann Lemaster Dean. RIP
This song always reminds me to live in her spirit.
Wow... I just felt God's love through this song, thank you guys and thank you my lord ❤️
same here man, Good way to start off the day though!
Same here dude. These guys are the few people that is really genuine and passionate for Jesus in the genre for sure. Met the band and especially Matt several times. Humble dudes!
And some people think this is the devils music. Idiots.
God doesn't exist.
Brian Nichols and this dude comes and kills it.
That lead guitar over the arpeggios is very pleasant.
abr - the only that can write a outro in major and it sounds awesome
Mah favourite!
Beautiful music. Beautiful song this.
i can hear you and i can feel you August burns red
Crazy Ive always been a fan of ABR and I just heard this song. My friend just passed away today and this song couldn't come at a better time. I almost lost it at the part in the middle where the speech came in. I couldn't stop thinking about her. ABR helping me keep my head on my shoulders. This one is for you Paige💔 I miss you. Rest easy..
Love this song, lost my mom when I was 13, but this song has helped get passed the pain love and miss her right now so much... But I know she's flying with the angels right now love you mom, I know you didn't like this music at all, but this song is for you love you 😰
This is easily my favorite ABR song of all time. It's gorgeous.
Lord Jesus put your loving hands upon us. The beauty in all Tragedies is getting to see the face of He The Most High. Praise u Jesus
Lost my brother year ago today. This song is everything I feel
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG DESERVES A MUCH BETTER VIDEO THAN THIS! But oh well. I can't complain as long as August Burns Red are still making music
So strong
I cry every time I hear this
So powerful
come to San Angelo tx. that would be so bad ass!!!!! would love to see these guys again.
Anyone else consistently crank the volume up at 2:23?
...and then turn it up just a little more at 2:48?
+Walter Bored you know what's up
All. The freaking. Way.
And then my ears are practically bleeding at 3:16 to the end.
My volume is maxed the whole song lmao
Thank you ABR...I really needed this song
