If my husband cheated on me and plotted with my father against me, then died, and my son kept me locked away....I'd be crazy too! Poor lady. 😔

Absolutely! If that were my life story, I’d need a reality show just to keep up with the drama! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Treatment for "mad" people in the 15th Century: " Drink the sweat of bulls , mixed with crushed frog and apply leeches two times a day". Interesting video! It's difficult to look back so far to judge whether someone was mentally ill or just stressed. Even the names and descriptions of illnesses have changed radically.

Thanks for your comment! You're absolutely right-15th-century treatments were quite... creative! It's tough to judge historical figures by modern standards since diagnoses and treatments were so different. Joanna's story is a reminder of how far we've come in understanding and treating mental health. Glad you enjoyed the video!

@@GeniusHistoryChannel Yes, it's so very hard to work out what someone's illness was and to try to work out what was really going on from letters and histories written so long ago is diabolically difficult. Always a matter of interpretation! Once again, thank you for a very interesting video!
