Filipino foods are not good to those who have diabetes, kidney problem hypertension. most of these foods are sweet, salty, oily, sour, etc.. actually they are taste good.

@Markie 47 Pasta is Italian. Well, if it originated from Italy then, we call it as pasta. But since we have our own version of it, whether you like it or not, we name it as FILIPINO PASTA. We don't even call it as pasta. Most Pastas here, we call them Spaghetti and it's not something for you to freak out about.

Filipino sweet style spaghetti is not for everyone especially for you. Who can't even stand to try varieties of food and would rather stick to what your tongue would prefer rather than being adventurous. Make your own "Italian" Pasta and why bother watching a fun and open minded video like this?

He also put balsamic vinegar which is a serious crime in bolognese.
He put chicken stock in the form of liquid chicken bulion, which is only available in the states. Beef is better, and I don’t care if David from Bologna says no need.

Good job Vincenzo. You kept an open mind. The Filipino spaghetti is a cultural thing. It is present in all Filipino celebrations. It is easy to make, cheap, and filling. Filipinos, like Italians, love to celebrate and food will always be at the center of it. The Filipino taste is simple, it has to be sweet or salty, or both! The only Italian in our spaghetti is the pasta noodles. Otherwise, it is totally Filipino in taste. You should really try it.

My man Vincenzo I love your videos and I followed a lot of your recipes, I personally love the cherry tomato recipe. But being half Filipino living in the Philippines I do like Filipino style spaghetti when I’m invited to fiestas. It’s hard to explain but Filipino style pasta is just a sweeter version of pasta using cheap ingredients to feed a lot of people.

I know some filipinos substitutes ketchup for the tomato sauce. This is where it is a hit or miss because sometimes the ketchup really compliments the sauce but most of the time if they use banana ketchup the pasta tastes cheap.
Ok so you hate how we Filipinos do to modifiy the traditional Italian Spaghetti, everyone has his or her own taste, like Ilocanos love Pinakbet, but no all of like it.......but don't forget tha pasta was never an Italian invention , it was Chinese, them Arabs only introduced it to them Italians by a "Silk Road."

Filipino style tomato sauce is simply a sweeter blend of tomato sauce so you get that sweet taste with a hint of sourness that compliments well with different kinds of cheese. Great reaction though. More power!

Filipino spaghetti sauce is not sweet tomatoes. It is actually made with banana ketchup that is why it’s sweet.

There is no such thing is Filipino spaghetti. It's cultural appropriation.
Filipinos have a long history of cultural appropriation. They steal a lot of Chinese dishes for example and add "Filipino" in front of it. Then claim it's the best! lmfao
The Sauce has:
Tomato Puree (Water, Tomato Paste), Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Contains Less Than 2% of the Following: Salt, Soybean Oil, Dehydrated Onions, Carrot Fiber, Citric Acid, Spices, Garlic Powder, Natural Flavor.
If they write "Tomato Puree (Water, Tomato Paste)" that means there is more water in there than actual tomatoes...Because the most used ingredient usually comes first in labelling. Also they add natural flavors. Otherwise this might taste watery and bland. It's a miracle it even has tomatoes. Many foods like e.g. canned Ravioli come with a sauce that is mostly flavors and food coloring. But this sauce probably tastes similar to the tomato sauce for canned baked beans or ravioli.
@@kadda1212 Not always. Most countries enforced this much later and some countries do not conform to this. It's a food regulation enforced by governments. Until recent years the U, S and A didn't had any regulation regarding this. We're talking about Phillipines, so other laws. And when I'm thinking about the horrible things the government is doing in there, I'm not sure if they even care slightly about that.
Always the best is to make sauce yourself and not to buy the cans or glass jars with ready-to-use sauces. Nothing special

The history of Filipino's sweet spaghetti is when we experienced tomato shortage so we looked for an alternative which is the banana.
The sweetness of the spaghetti sauce comes from Banana Ketchup. Which is not present in this video but typically, a real Filipino spaghetti is a balanced mix of Tomato sauce and Banana Ketcup. And that's the brief history of the Filipino "sweet spaghetti".

It's not the way I cooked Filipino spaghetti for my kids but I love your reaction here (my kids loves and grew up with Filipino style spaghetti). Filipino spaghetti is one of the best.

@@vincenzosplate i'm not a pro cook by any means, but most home recipes have that banana ketchup, even fastfood type filipino spaghettis has those but different homes have different recipes, .. i guess in this video there's no need because sauce is already sweet.

My mom lived in Italy for a couple of years and she taught me how to cook italian pasta dishes, based on how she learned them from her italian friends. I still know how to make them. Because of that, i was also able to do fusions of filipino and italian spaghetti, like making tomato sauce from scratch and then combining that with the sweet filipino sauce. Just made them today and it was yummy. Sometimes i eat italian pasta, sometimes i crave Filipino spaghetti. We can appreciate them all :)
That's really cool to hear! It's wonderful that your mom was able to learn authentic Italian cooking techniques from her Italian friends and pass them on to you. It's also great to see that you're open to experimenting with fusion cuisine and combining flavors from different cultures to create something new and delicious. @@vincenzosplate This is due to economic reasons also, common Filipino households will gravitate on affordable and easy to find ingredients; legit meat sausages, fancy meats and imported cheeses are almost only found in select deli stores (and they are not many), and their prices are so high for the budget of a common Filipino.
1. That being said, commercial hotdogs are a favorite thing.
2. Normal processed cheese or quickmelt cheese are used.
3. Cream or condensed milk are used to make the sauce thicker and richer, though honestly, not all Filipinos agree with this element because some do not like their spaghetti sauce looking pale red/pinkish in color, plus diluting the flavors developed in the spaghetti sauce because of the cream/condensed milk.

Filipino Spaghetti has a sweet sauce. Normally sugar or condensed milk is added. I don't like it growing up and until now. I prefer bolognese.
I heard filipino spaghetti like to stick to the sweeter side of their of their dishes. I must say, you have an amazing taste palate. To try out some of my recipe here, I have tomato pasta that I'm sure you're going to love.

If you don't like hotdogs on your spaghetti you can always use sausage as substitute like you said its okay to use sausage for Filipino style Spaghetti. 👍

The spanish did not teach us this sweet spag sauce which is lure for todler' when i was a kid my dad who work in naval base as a cook was strict about food taste. His sphag sauce was very different, NOTsweet. The spanish gave as a wonderful recipe, but a emerging race in our land realized that making it swwwwweet is a perfecr bait for kids, all about economics, sphag lost its dignity here thanks to does coacroach who multiply to much and spread like wild pigs in earth. They ruined sphag and made it a chum.

Saw a lot of people fucked up adobo, and most of them are from the Western countries. But it is not a big deal, every home here in the Phillipines have their own version of adobo to better suit their taste. Same goes with spaghetti with red sauce. We adjusted the taste to our own liking. I hate the Filipino style but I eat if it suits my palate.

We Filipino are food lover and we love to fuse and food around the world, also the spaghetti we love sweet style spaghetti and the can I asking are made from tomato 🍅 puree and it's taste sour and sweets ., For the perfect of Filipino spaghetti we use also sugar and condensed milk to prevent our taste sweets loves hehehe

since filipino spaghetti breaks all the rules there's really no rules, you can use sausage, i've made it more savory than sweet, our family doesn't use evaporated milk at all, never heard anyone use it till now, maybe it's a filam thing.
