I remember asbestos was banned from wallboard and plaster after 1980 in the US, though it was still used after that for a period of time. I remember buying relined brake shoes in the 1980's (90's?) that were relined in Canada. Around 2000 they started coming from India, but those usually didn't hold up well. My first job after school was relining brakeshoes for trucks 10 times the size of these, and they were made from Asbestos. Still I had a houndred times better working conditions then this, and the job sucked
As someone who has installed the add brake shoe or 3 I see several problems. A pile of mixed shoes to be relined that did not seem to be sorted and most brake shoe sets have a leading shoe made from a harder friction material and a secondary show that acts as a chock really. Very stingy with the bonding agent, not the whole shoe covered, some were lifting before they were painted! And the shoes are supposed to be radiused not just ground like that. And the very obvious while I doubt it is asbestos material it will still accumulate in your lungs and eyes when ground like that. Wear a respirator with eye protection.
When I was young it still was fairly common for shops to actually reline the brake shoes on your car. I grew up in a small town and my Uncle owned a repair shop and he would reline brake shoes. When I was in my early teens I worked in his shop first sweeping the floors and washing parts and later one of my jobs was to reline brake shoes. The concept of getting it off the floor to a table or a conveyer system has not been introduced in this part of the world? No one there has googled modern production processing? very good job wiht almost zero faciltties only skill works
Gracias... Guadalajara, México...!!!
My first job after school was relining brakeshoes for trucks 10 times the size of these, and they were made from Asbestos.
Still I had a houndred times better working conditions then this, and the job sucked
Something tells me this guy is not going to live a long healthy life.
KREATIF...... .GOD JOB ,
Thanks ☺️
As someone who has installed the add brake shoe or 3 I see several problems. A pile of mixed shoes to be relined that did not seem to be sorted and most brake shoe sets have a leading shoe made from a harder friction material and a secondary show that acts as a chock really.
Very stingy with the bonding agent, not the whole shoe covered, some were lifting before they were painted!
And the shoes are supposed to be radiused not just ground like that.
And the very obvious while I doubt it is asbestos material it will still accumulate in your lungs and eyes when ground like that. Wear a respirator with eye protection.
Yes I would not trust that bonding they would fall off I was a brake bonder for 40 years
He is spraying pre coat an anti rust and helps the bond take that is highly toxic
All the shoes I bonded were radius ground I did it for 49years years
WOW!!!!! Safty first. What a way to exist. But they are probably better off than most in that part of the world.
The main difference is instead of only “bonding” (gluing” the linings to the brake shoe irons” we would rivet the brake linings to the brake shoe irons which in my opinion is a much better than bonding/gluing them
👍you are so creative
Nice place. Very clean. I wonder what the rent is like and do you ever really get used to the smell? Also, what does asbestos taste like?
Great work, I like chimney very much. This will stop vehicle, I am sure. Their organizing skill is matchless. This makes made in China look good.
Very good work. Hard working people
I do appreciate the hard work and his start to finish abilities but what is hard to understand in these videos is a lack of understanding about efficiency in productivity. I mean there’s no clear flow in processing? It’s the same every time in theses videos, drops it in the floor pick it up put it back on the floor pick it up carry it then back on the floor? The concept of getting it off the floor to a table or a conveyer system has not been introduced in this part of the world? No one there has googled modern production processing? Not hating on them just makes my old back and knees hurt watching them. Might be why all our stuff is made in China?
they can not afford that stuff. What they have is their bodies and that is what they supply, its called sweat labour.
@@alistairshanks5099 You are probably right but I live in the mountain country of Arkansas now but previously I lived out west and worked all over the US and I see the same lack of modern production skills even here. I think the available tools or for easing the hard labor burden we see here could turn this into dream business. The internet is a powerful tool if you want it to be.
They don't use tables gor anything. They eat off the ground and with their feet.
This is how brembo brake's are manufacturin😮

This is called living surrounded by garbage, working without any protection, exploiting children and then emigrating to a more modern country but they are no longer able to work because they are always sick and the host country has to maintain and provide health care. VERY PRETTY.
Always bragging about the west.once upon a time it was also stinking rubbish.
It's just a matter of time things will also change.
@@arafatali1327 Everyone goes through the stage of misery until someone comes with new ideas and the change occurs, it is up to you to make that change but first you would have to banish the politicians who only look at money and expel the invaders who They only look to bring your wealth to their country. excelente trabajo. mucha sabiduría para ser gente tan jóvenes... mis respetos.
And that how you get your duralast gold at auto zone boys
These folks are ridiculously talented at doing a lot with a little. Their mechanical ability is inspiring. I do worry about the asbestos that’s undoubtedly in those shoes, albeit in trace amounts. The stuffs bad for our lungs but the best in the world at dissipating heat.
I remember when they used to grind them to fit, in the auto parts stores.
All the brake shoes I produced were radius ground to fit the drum properly
👍

I’ll never complain about hard work again….he’s a glue master…it wood have been everywhere on me…kids 9 years old already got a talent..
They get 3 bucks…Napa gets $30…
It's like having a factory in your backyard, and only family members gets to work there. 👌🏽
Not all, one guy is always relaxed.

Not even putting glue on the whole shoe must be a advance auto reline plant
Advance, Aline, Pep Boys, Autozone, Oreilly's, etc. They all use the same OEMs in many cases, just slap a different label on it.
The heat melts it out so I think coverage was decent. Amazed they do this in the back yard chicken coop.

What do you think the dip was that stripped all the rust and grime off, that he used a glove to put the old shoes into. He still was not ultra cautious. Wonder what the chemical/specific acid was?
hydrochoric acid
Very talented sir congratulations on your work god bless you
Fantástico trabalho, juntamente com os filhos. Todos trabalhadores dedicados. Parabéns.

thank you abdala ben salim for my new brake pads, I wish you a good recovery for your cancer, can you guys work faster plz ?
A nice new layer of asbestos? 😀
Dont use word asbestos, its harmful and banned in many countries. Try chrysotile, it doesont sound dangerous, but it is same name for same mineral :)
It's alright... The box says "asbestos free"...
So you know your ok....
@@martinleska4292 Chrysotile is only one of a few asbestos minerals. There may be no chrysotile in it, but there may be amosite, crocidolite, anthophyllite, tremolite or actinolite in it 😉. And of course the name is just a name... the point is that you don't want to breathe that stuff.
