The Hollow Rot is just outright gorgeous in its insanity. The afflicted have turned into a W40K's version of Dead Space spitters. That realization in the Biologis's mind that this disease could have escaped into the Imperium..... And that there's nothing he can do to stop it. This story takes the 1st place, for me personally. Kudos to everyone involved. Praise the Omnissiah!
I am SHOCKED that Warhammer horror isnt considered some of the best in the franchise. Its all so interesting! Thanks for your contributions, everyone! Yall are GREAT!
Its cause we see through the eyes of space marines. Where anything can and will be destroyed in glory but we forget that encountering space marines are terrifying in and of itself cause they dont just kill, but leave a trail of gore and carnage on a level normal people cant conprehend
The Hallow Rot reminds me of the first short story I ever wrote as a kid in 4th grade. It was a Halloween scary story competition at school. Mine was an interview with an ER doctor recalling the outbreak of a flesh eating disease. The looks of disgust and concern on the faces of not just the other kids but their parents were how I knew I was born to be a writer. I realized that words I put down on paper could push people’s buttons in such a visceral way. Happy Halloween from a kindred spirit, Vox.
Dude!!! Holy shit…….. that last story where he was pushing his sister in the grinder threw me completely off guard….. I literally had my jaw dropped at that twist. Goddam…….. just damn……… god…..
I like that Meat Hooks doesn't have some Chaos/Xeno twist, just the sheer horror of the life of a corpse-grinder in one of the worst hives the Imperium has to offer.
I had actually planned a Chaos ending when originally laying out the story but it turned out to be too long. Ultimately the word count restriction became a positive influence because I had to tighten up the story and come up with a more emotional ending. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Really awesome to see what the writers on the Discord have to offer. Great job everyone! Thank you as well Vox for bringing these to life and sharing them!
All hail Nurgle One time when I was kayaking down a river my head became consumed by horseflies there was hundreds of them an entire layer of bugs on my face and every time I tried to wipe them off they always jumped and came back my body covered in flies they wouldn't leave until I dove off into the river

Don’t know if anyone else has mentioned but the use of the word “crop” during the corpse grinder story gives true insight into your worth in the grim dark. Great storytelling as always Vox!
The final one was truly the best, it's arguably not even horror at all, and just a look into what existence is like for these people. It's almost hard not to smile at how they find small fragments of joy and comradery even in such a bleak and hollow world that literally chews up the dead and to have even the death of your family be merely a fact that most people are so accustomed to it's almost not possible for them to dwell on it for too long. More Hive City stories would really be great I think!
That feeling when i realized every vox vid has that previously watched red bar of doom was particularly crushing. But, the 3rd time i finished every video it wasn't so jarring when i finished and so i too feel ya brother. This colossi of greatness is incredible for the hours of majesty. I too join my thanks.

Please understand though that I may not as I have an anxiety issue and often stress too much and wind up second guessing myself. If more people express an interest I will definately revisit the idea but I can't guarantee anything.
@Awwscrewit hey dude no worries! I just liked your story so much but I will not make you countine their story if you don't want to. And hey if it eases you somewhat know that i see myself having the same issues as you so you're not alone. But regardless it was a good story and i'm happy it got chosen by vox and the shock at the end was unexpected and left me thinking "damn, that's dark." You sure got a talent and i hope you expand your ideas and find enjoyment in writing stories. Thanks for sharing your story for us!
A fantastic selection of tales, with horror ranging from the supernatural to the mundane. Congratulations to the excellent authors of these! And as always, fantastically narrated by Vox.

Meat hooks is my favorite. If i were in the 40k universe id want to be a corpse starch worker. Something similar happed to me there at the end. I didnt know my dad died but he came through the cremetory.
The Necromunda story about the corpse grinder reminds me of the Jewish Prisoners known as the Sonderkommandos in the concentration camps in charge of burning the bodies. They'd burn all those killed in the gas chambers and those who died of other means, before eventually being executed and being burned by the new Sonderkommandos that replaced them. Once, one was burning bodies when he stopped upon seeing one of the bodies. He hesitated for a few moments before continuing with the job. When one of the nazis asked another Sonderkommando why he stopped, the man said that he had just found his wife.
I honestly had never heard of the Sonderkommandos before, I was just thinking about what could be the worst thing for a new corpse grinder to find. Never dreamed it would have mirrored reality.

Crazy how the last one didn’t have any mind bending twist. Sometimes we forget the real horrors like how normal people live in hive city’s.
I could just picture those two working in that place. It reminded me a little bit of The Jungle.
