By the way the story was going, I was expecting him to somehow turn into a flayed one. When he attacked those Mechanicus, and I heard about envying flesh and blood, I was like "Oh boy".
Be cool if it ends up a several part story, and that's what it becomes or other admech stories make throwbacks to it laying around so people start rooting for the head to make a comeback😂
Always wanted to write a story where a necron goes to sleep but the hibernation protocols either do not work or malfunction and as the Tomb World goes dark that one necron is the only one who stays awake for 60 million years, only to go mad, slowly...
How in warp gods names have you not been tasked with constructing an audiobook for black library yet? You'd especially make some great 40k horror which this galaxy needs more of
Thank you! Really liked this one; we have some perspectives from "higher" Necrons but the perspective of eternal mechanical unlife and longings of their old selves - really illustrates the horrifying wretched existence of these beings. Grim darkness, indeed.
Wow! You did it! This was such an epic story and I'm so glad it's on the channel. Excellent performance as always. I totally spaced this is the same guy who wrote Sacred Geometry.
As much as I am an Imperium fanboy, it’s really interesting to hear stories featuring the other major factions. Thanks for yet another great narration!
@@AVoxintheVoid I'd personally love to see a story from the perspective of a T'au or even a Gue'vesa (human member of the tau) being on the receiving end of an imperial reclamation force, seeing the Imperium from the perspective of a people just trying to defend their homes from an invading hostile entity they just wanted to extend the hand of friendship to (in the Cain books, the tau humans genuine seem to just want to get along with their imperial counterparts and don't understand why the imperials hate them)

Didn’t see the author’s name when I was listening on my headphones… for a while there I wondered if we’d find out where Ahn Kee Gebel would get its comeuppance.
All that godlike technology and they are still bound by the same trappings as we are. Still to suffer from anger and envy and despair. Still flawed and broken as we are.

Nothing hits quite the same as a _Vox in the Void_ narration. But out of curiosity, is that your recording software in the background echoing during the story, or is it an effect *for* the story?

Great narration! Just a little feedback: gyre is pronounced "Jai-uh" or "Jai-err" depending on your accent, because why shouldn't a G have a hard-J sound? 🤦

A good bit of existential horror with the Necrons! Excellent work once again Vox, and I'm so very pleased to hear another of A. G. Glenn's works.
Awesome short story ! The eternal torture of staring at a blank wall….
Don't worry it will probably go insane eventually.
That is some Destroyer Cult talk if I've EVER heard any.
