Excellent job! I’m also a professional dressmaker/seamstress and crafter who enjoys making everything herself and I must give you kudos for your fantastic creations. Good for you! Excellent way to not only save money (especially with having kids), but to make things you can be proud of.
I made one of these about 10 yrs ago & still have it! I used 5 pillowcases I already had & just stitched the long edges together (openings all at the same end) then I sewed 3 long-ish (maybe about 10"/20cm then folded in half) loops of elastic to one end, 1 innthe middle & 2 about 5-6"/10-12cm from each edge) rolled it up (with pillows in) and then marked where on the rolled up part to hand sew 3 big buttons. So it rolls up & elastic button closes! If you want to overstuff the pillowcases, the cheap inners can be thin so I used 2 pillow inners in each case, you can also use a wee bit of elastic & a button to secure the pillowcases openings better :) My kids are 18 & 21 now & they still use it when going to a party etc, handy with a sleeping bag!!
been looking for a way to make easy japanese futon mattress happened to stumble on your video thanks this really help me think what i need to do as there's many DIY videos out with nothing as simple as your
Wow! Looks Great! I want to make one for my sister, she has been sick and has been asking for a Pillow Bed or something she can sit up on while she is on the bed to help in giving her some relief. The ones on Amazon and even Walmart etc. are expensive and I through about maybe making one instead because I use to sew stuffed animals, etc., So I decided maybe I can try to make one for her and if not then I will save up for it but it might take more time. So, I just wanted to ask what kind of sewing machine do you use and how much did it cost, I was looking online and some of them are affordable but some are expensive as well. Do you have any advice on which sewing machine would be best for making pillow beds and if so, which one's do you recommend? Please and Thank you. :)
My machine was a gift, and was given many years ago, so I can't say much about the cost, but it is a Singer Brilliance. However, this project was so simple and only required a straight stitch. So any machine that can handle felt, should work just fine. I am sure your sister will love it!
Using four pillows made it long enough so that I could lay on it, but if you wanted it bigger you could always try using a larger blanket and five pillows or king size pillows. Thanks so much for watching!
Absolutely beautiful and much easier than some I've seen and even made I've just been gifted a very large bolt of jumbo corduroy so not only can I receive my arm chair I can make a pillow bed for myself plus ill still have enough material for other projects
Can’t wait to make these for my grandsons!!
🐇🕯Tku....wish this was around when my boys were little...👏😊
Great idea, I love it plus I finally got to see a video where the person spoke and gave the measurements and instructions. 👍

I like these even for visitors during December time. Thank you so much
Great idea, I'm thinking of making one for myself, need an extra pillow though as I'm 61 inches tall.
Love love your idea! I think I will make one for my grandson!! I will sew one side out of cotton (John Deer I got on sale) and one side fleece!

Oh my goodness, these would make great dog beds with just 2 pillows. Cheaper and easy washing.
Great idea!
Wowza! Thus is doable for me b/c I am lazier than and much less skilled than you! 😂
Can you make it for adults too

@@sherriealder Or possibly sew two together, to make a double bed?
