I can totally relate to this journey being an obsession as I’m at that point right now. I don’t think I’ll obtain bag peace until I score a Birkin. It’s great that you were able to turn down the first 2 offers and not sure if I would be brave enough to do that! But patience paid off!
I think you really lucked out on the bag. I can't imagine why anyone would turn down this gorgeous color! It was meant for you, Alice.💕 And bravo for not settling for the first and 2nd bag offer! I think for the price and how much people yearn for this bag, we owe it to ourselves to get the one we actually want and not just settle for whatever comes up. x
This is so crazy to me! Here in San Francisco it’s impossible to get a quota bag, some people spend $40-50k and never get an offer. It’s almost cheaper and quicker to fly to NYC every couple of months and buy from there and get a bag there.
Loved your story. It’s nice seeing someone be so honest and genuine and forthcoming about their experience with the boutique. I will say you really lucked out as competition has been stiff and continues to remain stiff. But it’s not just about spend as many think. I have been a long time H client and have experienced some of what you talk about in the video. I love that you were patient and willing to wait and only buying things you love. Also appreciate that you recognized there was a moment of obsession and that happens to a lot of people. Thanks for sharing!
I love that you stood your ground and said no to the black Birkin! My gosh most girls would grab it right away. Especially black gold and Togo? But 35 is quiet big and I love yours that you got. You speak so eloquently
Thanks for sharing Alice! I appreciate how more real and reflective your videos are including this one. Just recently started becoming interested in Hermès and find this truly helpful!
Thank you for sharing your experience. This is super helpful. I fell in love with Picotin and started my journey only three weeks ago, unfortunately, I have not been offered a bag yet. I’ll explore their scarf collection when I go in next time.
I was on a journey but stopped to buy recently. To be honest I was super frustrated and noticed that I was spending to much time, money and effort just to get a bag. I almost spent 1:1 in 1.5 years. I ended up buying one preloved and now I feel relived.
Thanks for sharing! honestly, pre-loved is a great option esp. because you get to actually choose the specs of the bag. I totally relate to the feeling of spending too much effort/time/money on shopping at H -- in retrospect i think i was very close to falling into an obsession (not in a good way) with it.
Thank you for your in depth videos with all of your purchase details and prices! You shared super useful tips that make me hopeful about my Hermes journey
Eek! I think Europe and US tend to be less strict than other places too Knowing Vancouver (i used to live there) it’s probably super competitive too :/
Thanks for sharing! I love jewel tones and would be over the moon to have a Birkin in that gorgeous green! I too have a lot of bags in black so would not be interested in that color, however, I think I would have purchased it if offered! I’d love a Birkin one day, but also do not plan to purchase items that I’m not genuinely interested in. I’m going in soon to purchase a belt and hope to find a particular bracelet soon too.
Thank you for your support! I think we don’t talk about the thought process and the sometimes potentially irrational side of luxury purchasing behavior enough
Awesome video! I also live in NYC and started purchasing this last week. Do you like the fidi boutique better? I’m nervous about stock since I feel like a ton of people go to Madison Ave!
I like FiDi mostly for the convenience of the location for me (it was easy for me to be flexible with my SA’s schedule and casually drop in). It is pretty small though, so if you want a better browsing experience, Madison is a better choice. Since my purchases were mostly planned, stock at that location wasn’t that much of a concern because my SA can always transfer things from another boutique.
I was hesitant at first too, but so far it's wearing really well, definitely keeps its structure and i feel more care-free since the leather is quite wipeable. That said i don't own anything in a soft leather from Hermes so I dont have anything to compare it to
I use GoodHangups, but had to supplement it with command strips to keep the magnets in place (the adhesive on the sticker it comes with is not strong enough)
Lucky you! I'm in Canada and we have to spend close to 1:1 or more to get a quota bag (1:0.9 for k28, 1:2.5 for b25, and at 1:1.3 currently)...I'm waiting for my 3rd quota bag now and have turned down a two offers already. In between my journey a few of my SAs left the company, and it was stressful to find a new SA...Anyway, I love how your videos are informative, keep it up! :) Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this! Did you have to make an appointment every time you went and if so, did you feel like you had to make a purchase because you made an appointment?
I did, but mostly because it was the COVID protocol at that store. And tbh I did feel a bit of pressure from myself to make a purchase when I went. Probably not the same now if you’re just dropping by
I am sooooo jealous , i want a Hermès too 😍 ! Thank you for this video. I just discovered you channel and i love it !!! New subscriber ! Greating from France
Congrats on your bag :) ! As a european woman I feel quite « sorry » for you living in the North America/ Asia as you have to play that game to get a bag ! It’s rly different in Europe as you can have a bag without any purchase !
@@lilianrose7247 Bad luck then, i had my B25 with not even 2k spend and my B30 my husband scored for me with no purchase at all :) he even created the profile to wish for the bag and we waited 5 months to get it !
Hi is the vert de gris more like dark grey with hint of green ? I went to Hermes looking for an Evelyne they had a vert jade which is very green then I saw this vert de gris color on line which looks great but I wonder how it looks in person
Thank you! The color definitely has more green, and darker than etoupe (etoupe seems to have more of a beige undertone) -- i think most people can pick up on the green when they see it in person
Hi Alice!! The leopard washed scarf is gorgeous and amazing score from Hermes, congrats! Love your haul 🥰😍 fellow luxe lover here and i Subscribed! Let's connect 💞💞
I love the color, you made a great choice. It would look so chic with what you are wearing in this video. All I would say is that you should get rid of the twillys. I think they ruin the look of the bag and the overall chicness of the vibe.
I’ve been trying the bag without twillys in the winter months (since I wear gloves so I don’t feel like I need to protect handles). I do agree that the look is more polished/elegant without them
Thanks for sharing your candid journey. I also live in NYC and just started my journey this year. I bought 2 non-quota bags (mini Lindy & Evelyne) this year but don’t have a dedicated SA locally since I bought them while on vacation (Montreal & Hawaii) but would love to find a good SA here in NYC. You mentioned your SA moved to Madison Ave. and you would be willing to share her name via email but can you kindly share your email? Really appreciate it! Unfortunately I have a great SA in Waikiki but they don’t ship 😭.
I think the whole "journey" is absolutely absurd. Great marketing tool as it sucks people in and makes them feel like they are getting something elusive but honestly if I am going to spend that kind of money then I would go pre-loved and get EXACTLY what I want. I totally respect anyone that does decide to go this route and if it makes it all the more meaningful then that's great for you but for me personally, it's a hard no.
Its definitely not for everyone - i think if you’re not enjoying the process and like the “other” things you buy then it’s not worth it - preloved would be the way to go in that case
Hi, I a new subbie. I love your video and all the details and honesty, you share!! I am located in Manhattan too, and thinking to try out Wall St location to start my H journey to birkin too!! Any chance you could tell me who your SA is?:) i am willing to spend good money to get a birkin offer, but I am afraid to meet a SA who wants me to spend more than 1:1 and not getting an offer. :( If you can share the name of your SA with you, I can just email you to ask since comments on here could be too public for you to feel comfortable to share the name. :)
Thank you for watching! What do you think about the H journey? Are you on one yourself? I'm also happy to answer questions you might have

loveee the color! if you dont mind me asking, did you purchase from a US boutique store? which states?
Yep! In NY
I recently got my first quota bag in the boutique after spending more than 1:1. After this one, are you planning to score a Kelly?
Congrats! I’m not super sold on the Kelly yet, I think I would opt for another Birkin or a non quota bag (like a Lindy)
