I was stationed in South Korea when that song was on the radio. Loved it than and maybe more now. I'm not "the" Don McLean but people still remember the song when they understand I have the same name. A wonderful song that still touches a lot of people. Any President who can remember and sing the song so well has to be a good person.

Greetings from Quincy, Massachusetts. President Yoon gets an A+ for choice of song. He got a very different reception than Don McLean got in Boston when McLean first sang the song publicly. The people of Boston were objecting to McLean’s last few verses, which was pretty close to a depiction of how the world works.
