Hey, i get most of the parts from EMD racing Centurion (if you shop there, chat to JJ and tell him MDM sent you then he’ll give you a discount) The jet block seal i got from motocomp, they are based in pennington, KZN Yeah man fix het up and love her, these are forever bikes🤙🏼
The kdx250 was produced from 1991-1994, they were produced in very limited numbers. The US actually got the better version the KDX250R, mine is the slower Japanese SR version, difference being its road legal and its power valve is slightly different to the 250R. Its a pity they were not mass produced like the 200 and 220
Would you have any idea why I have no adjustment on my carb? I have a 91 kdx 250 it fires up no problem and runs pretty good but it won't idle and when I try to use the adjustment screws to get it to idle down or up it does nothing it just continues to die at idle. Could that seal you replaced possibly give me this problem?
Are you adjusting the top idle screw or the bottom air screw? I assume you are struggling even with the choke off? If the bike starts easily but does not want to idle i could point to having a rich fuel mix. What pilot jet do you have in? The jet block gasket can definitely add to the issue as it lets unmetered fuel through. With how old the bikes are i would go ahead and replace it anyway, its cheap and easy enough to do. Then i would try to run it again. If you still struggle start leaning out the pilot jet until you have a stable idle with the bottom air screw about 1.5 to 2 turns out (turn it all the way in first)
As i mentioned with the air screw the sweet spot should be between 1.5 and 2 turns out. If you need to screw it out more than 2 to 2.5 turns to get the bike to idle well your pilot jet is too rich. If the bike constantly idles high when warm and you have to turn the air screw in to 1.5 to 1 turns it means your pilot jet is too lean. In this process you also have to adjust the top idle screw a bit. I hope this makes sense.
@MudAndDustMoto unfortunately I'm newer to working on the bikes but I'm learning a lot as I go I just haven't learned anything about carbs yet I get what you're saying I just don't know what you mean when you say righer or leaner I assume that's the size of the jet I just don't know where to start or how to know what size jet to start with but you've definitely given me enough to go off of ill take some time and watch a couple videos about jetting a carb thank you I appreciate your time
Glad she's back in action!

And I tried both screws neither 1 makes any difference and I'm doing it after it's warmed up
You need a trial bike not a Motocross bike on that track
Haha yeah and this is still mild stuff. Fortunately the KDX is an enduro bike so its a bit better suited for the trails vs a MX bike.
Its rips now lets destroy it 🤦
Ofcourse i will pretty her up again later😅
@@MudAndDustMoto I'm busy fixing my 2006 kdx 200
@@bjornzorger3731awesome man, kdx is an awesome bike. I want to get myself a 220r as well.
