Gee, I learned a lot from this mixing video. I’ve always loved Prussian Blue. :) - And I’m surprised that Cobalt didn’t produce brighter colours. Last of all, I love the Olive Green that you mixed! THANKYOU Elisabetta 🫶 From 🇨🇦 BC, Canada
Hi!! I think you are referring to my video about mixing greens? I agree with you…Prussian blue is so underrated! Such a wonderful blue both on its own and mixed…thank you!
@@WatercolorElisabetta I have been painting in watercolours for 50 years, since I was 13 and visiting Italy too. Both are a great inspiration. I love the fact that you compared colours of the same pigment number PR101visibly, side by side and across brands. It is very useful information. It is fascinating how, for instance, one brand makes a fully transparent orange version whilst another produces a cooler opaque hue. There are other pigments that seem interesting for similar reasons, such as PV19 or the two pigments that make up W&N Raw Sienna.
We share the same interest for pigments! I have published a video about PV19, a pigment with a multiple personality! Thank you for your kind words. I will look into W&N raw Sienna!
Thank you for an interesting discussion on PR 101. I stopped your video and found a quite interesting discussion on the use of the descriptive "Mars" for several colors. I love to go off on a tangent and learn something new. I relish it while I’m reading it as I know I will quickly forget it!! I bought the Rosa Gallery pan set as soon as I saw those gorgeous colors. Thank you for that color swatching. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed finding your channel. Again, many thanks.
Thank you Angie for your comment! I’m happy you enjoyed this video and discovered wonderful Rosa Gallery paint! I’m also a very curious person just like you. 😀
This is my first visit to your channel, and I must say thank you for such an informative and interesting video. As someone who had just bought a White Nights palette just before the war began, I respect your thoughts and feelings about promoting their products during this time. Far too often on UA-cam artists are too scared, to take a stand on something even in such a small way. It is sad to me, that people have become so afraid to voice their opinion in anyway, for fear of losing views or subscribers. Artists have historically spoken through their art, and even brought about change in the face of persecution or even death. I will always respect and admire those who take the risks.
Thank you so much for your very kind words! I am a huge fan of White Nights myself, but I don’t feel well promoting them right now. Let’s hope the moment will come soon! Enjoy your art journey!
Thank you for this incredibly interesting introduction to pigment 101 from a variety of companies. It’s amazing how many iterations there are! Your observations regarding White Nights resonate with me. I’ve just discovered your channel and look forward to viewing your older material and anticipate upcoming videos.
Thank you Jenneke for your very kind words! I’m so passionate about colours and pigments that it is a real pleasure to meet new friends that share the same type of curiosity ❤️💙💛have a lovely weekend.
Elisabetta, I am personally proud of you for making a stand about products from Ru. I am feeling the same way. Not that it is the fault of the good citizens there that do not support a dictatorial leader. (Unless they think he is ok, then I say, no support). I will have to look that Rosa Gallery! Anyway, I love this pigment. I just bought some Gamblin Indian Red pigment powder to make my own Pr 101 watercolor creations. I’m very excited about it! Great swatching!
Please don't take it out on the ppl in Russia. They have nothing to do with the conflict. I have a friend in Russia, and those ppl r going thru very rough times. Their economy is horrible and the ppl r not being treated well. The conflict is between governments, not the ppl. I just found your channel. Very nice.
Hi, sorry if you understand that I have anything against Russian people at all. They are victims as well. I agree. I prefer to use Rosa Gallery over White Nights to show my unconditional support to Ukraine. That’s an important statement for me…thanks for watching my videos and thanks also for reaching out to me. (It’s obvious, but I have Russian friends as well, I think I can see the difference between people and governments ❤️)

Interesting video…watching this as I swatch my new Ukrainian Rosa Gallery paints. I agree that they are my new favorites!!!
Hi Alice, very very lovely paint! And it makes me feel good to support Ukraine...
@@WatercolorElisabetta me too. I also put away my Russian paints until…
Same here…
How excellent! Such valuable comparisons. Thank you
Thank you very much. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

@@WatercolorElisabetta Thank you! I hope to find some Rosa soon!
Pozzuoli red ochre by paul rubens is my favourite, I use it all the time since it's granulating
It’s a beautiful colour Maria!! And it’s transparent as well! Thank you for your comment ❤️
The varieties of PR101 are so vast that you probably could make a zorn palette or at least some type of limited palette with them.
Yes! That’s my point! And such a gorgeous palette that would be…thanks for stopping by!
