Low kv = a LOT of torque = high amps in small bursts (like multiple wheelies)... Shouldn't be enough to burn, but maybe together with one bad wire, or solder joint, or connector point, could be enough to kill it. Or its possible they have bad QC in house, and some bad units get out
I'm sorry with you. bad also bought a similar ESC. 4s lipo seems to be more suitable than 6s, because this is just a cheap product anyway. What esc are you going to replace next? From Viet Nam!
The weak links of these cheap esc are probably cheap out caps(they won't handle ripple voltage very well) and if you put much load(high gear ratio + high torque) on the motor...those caps will probably explode especially on 6s (you would rather pair this esc with very high c rating lipos for 4 or more cells or adding big cap packs) this is my speculation based on my research so feel free to correct me
@@Antoniosp10 exactly, the current draw of the motor can exceed from the specification when the load suddenly got heavier (eg. When the truggy lands with high rpm then suddenly lands and the voltage will also drop a bit depending of the c rating on your battery and that cause the amps to go way higher although for a fraction of the second but if done repeatedly it can degrade the caps and other components that's why it will take a couple weeks or months before you see the smoke of death depending of how you use it)
@@trojaned1652 Bro, I heard about caps pack, can you tell me if this would help to prevent something or not? Of course, using everything within specifications.
@@Antoniosp10 i would add a cap pack if the motor and battery you've placed are close to the maximum limit of your esc(eg. Those esc will probably smoke soon enough especially if you bash it too hard but if you only run it on 3s-4s and 2000kv then the esc won't get strained too much and you won't need cap packs)
lower kv DOES NOT MEAN HIGHER TORQUE! i see alot of comments saying that and it is ABSOLUTELY not right. it will confuse people who are knew. Also not everyone is willing to fork out more than $60 for just one battery. These lower kv motors using 6s or higher is kind of silly. I know I will get hate for saying this but I just bought another 6500kv from spectrum bc even though it says 2s-3s. which lets say you do 6500x11.1 will give 72,150RPMS, then if you use a 4s thats 6500x14.8= 96,200 which is insane. Yes the motor cant spin that fast of course but I changed my gearing and center diff on the new rlarrlo terminator and its INSANE. I have to put the remote on 70 percent otherwise it just sits there and either flips over and spins out of control haha. So Why go lower kv motor just so then I have to purchase more costly batterys to get the overall desire I already have using 2-4s?
I have the same esc. For years they marketed this as Surpass hobby. A similar looking esc is the new 9imod. Runs so smooth as fck. There are factors that fries the esc. Thanks bro. I connected the 4s and 2s lipos through series connector that I made, to make 6s. They're both 5000mah 70c. I've been using this connector. It's fine. I am planning to replace the power system with brushed ESC and brushed 775 motor so I won't break more parts. I have the kraton for high speed bashing anyway. If ever I return to using brushless on this, I'd get the hobbywing WP 8BL150 (150amp 6s esc) as a replacement.
It doesn't matter bro. The "s" means series. All the cells connected in series. The 4s is composed of 4 cells (3.7 volts each) connected in series. The 2s is composed of 2 cells connected in series as well. So if you connect the 4s and 2s via series connection, it will make 6s. Just like 3s + 3s in series connection. What matters is that the batteries connected must have the same mAh and Discharge rate (c).
I tho about it but I was just going to go with the flow of things plus on top of that should of had a double battery connector on the esc instead of 1 I think
