    I have the 120amp ESC that is also 6s capable. Ran a 6s pack on it a bunch of times already and have no issues. ESC runs cool and it's provides great power.
    Great value for money.👍

    Do you haven't concern running Deans connectors with a 60amp limit on 4S? Doesn't 4S draw more than 60amps from your motor, possibly melting the connector? The reason I ask is b/c I'm contemplating building a 4S car but didn't want to change my EC3's to EC5's but figured I'd have to since the EC3's are rated low too.

      Deans claim same resistence from memory as 12 guage wire. I have never had issues except if been on car a long time as if loose can be a bit of arcing - but so cheap just swap out new ones

      If you're worried about deans then you should be worried about all the 12awg on all your battery packs too no matter the connection

    Can you use a shorting plug on one side to run a single battery? Thank
    You

    • @madhatterrcchats7164
      @madhatterrcchats7164  2 роки тому +2

      Yes you can run one battery with a lead to loop them - search ebay and Amazon loads out there. Surpass do a very similar 120amp with single battery lead but I think the 120a is just 4S . The plug goes into one end of battery lead and battery in other. This is first one that came up on Google

    Do you know how to set the throttle end points on this? Is it really to pull the throttle first before turning on the ESC?

    • @madhatterrcchats7164
      @madhatterrcchats7164  2 роки тому

      The Surpass have instruction on the sheet in the box. Just involves teaching the ESC where neutral, full throttle and brake are on the TX takes 10 seconds

      Hi, I no longer have the Surpass 150amp to do that comparison but Surpass Hobby are a well established major budget brand with a great track record and a premium range under the Rocket brand so you can buy with confidence, and the Surpass 150amp had a heavier feel. Not had chance to try the Platinium 150amp except on the bench as none hobby life has been in the way lol but I'll post as soon as I do.....

      I'd guess you may need to calibrate your ESC with your radio gear. Should be covered in the instructions of the ESC.

      Surpass Hobby stuff is great. I've had them right up to 6S and sold on later still working fine. I currently still have a baby 25amp Surpass in a 1/16th. Massive company premium budget brand and they have a Rocket range as well more up market. I'm not on commission lol but great value brand

      You can run two 2S lipo to make 4S. I no longer have this ESC so cannot try it for you. The SkyRC TS150 runs 2S to 6S if you are looking for an ESC that does a wide range of batteries. I have both the TS150 and the TS150 Pro Competition (all aluminium housing). Great ESCs

    Hi, does it work from 3s battery?

    • @madhatterrcchats7164
      @madhatterrcchats7164  2 роки тому +1

      Some sales listings state 3-6S but I only ever ran on 4S as per instructions. There is a 120amp version that runs 2-4S with a single battery plug... the 150amp have two battery plugs to use 2 x 2S or 2 x 3S. I'd asknin your cars forums if anyone using with a 3S?
