  • Should people stock potassium iodide (KI)? I discuss whether or not it makes sense to keep some KI around in case of exposure to nuclear fallout.

    Do you keep some on you when you leave the house?

      I'm still thinking through this. Sounds like it might be a good idea to carry a couple of tablets with you even if you have them at home, given the importance of starting it ASAP. A dose is good for 24 hours, so if you can get back to your stash within that time, you would only need to carry one dose.

      @@dlsolof Yes. You would need to secure uncontaminated food, water, air and a radiation-protected area in which to stay. KI would be just one part of your protective response.
