Hot and Cold Balloon Experiment
Вставка

- You won't believe your eyes as you attach a balloon to an empty bottle and place it in hot water! The balloon will quickly expand and begin to inflate thanks to the air heating up and creating higher air pressure inside.
The exact opposite will happen if the balloon and bottle are placed in cold water as the balloon will deflate.
This hot and cold balloon experiment is a super fun and easy way to teach kids about how high and low pressure/hot and cold temperatures work!
This is a super fun and easy experiment to do at home with just a few simple supplies:
Empty Water Bottle
Balloon
Bowl of Hot Water
Bowl of Ice Water
The science behind this experiment:
As the bottle with the balloon attached is placed in hot water, the air inside the bottle heats up and the molecules move around faster and increase the volume and air pressure enough to inflate the balloon.
Then as the bottle is moved back into the cold water, the air molecules lose energy and slow down. They don't bounce around as quickly and the volume and pressure decrease as the balloon deflates.

Ahh thank you so much!!! 😍
hot excites the particles and causes it to expand as its a gas and cooling it stabilizes the particles hence the sink
You got it! 👍
Thank u for showing our experiment I need to find ballon now heheh
Have fun!!!
Can you use glass bottles for this experiment? If so, will I get the same results?
Yes, it should work with the same result with glass bottles!
hot rises and cold sinks...physics is KEKW
Yep! You are a science whiz!
what is the constant variable of this experiment?
what is missing from this experiment ?(think about the 5 components)
describe the change in the state of matter seen as the temperature changed
why does the balloon begin to expand as the bottle is placed over the hot water?
would the boiling point of the water change if I increased the sample size of water? explain your answer.
idk man!
learn more in school cuh
From the experiment, describe the relationship of the volume and temperature of a gas?
Increasing the temperature increases the volume, in this case water turns into steam when the bottle is placed in hot water. This causes balloon to inflate.
Same volume but pressure increase and decrease
Yep! You are exactly right!
