    I need you to be my teachers haha.
    My chemistry teacher taught us this law in a way that sounded like "It is like this because it has to be like this."
    You explain things in a much more interactive way!

    • @TheSciGuys
      @TheSciGuys  10 років тому +4

      Daiyan Mahfuz In the next episode we wrap up our series on the laws of gases by looking at Gay-Lussac's law. Then the episode after is probably going to be homemade vortex cannons, then it looks like elephant toothpaste.

    Just being picky - at 3:30, the illustration of the molecules should show the increased energy of collisions that cause them to be further apart.

    Hi
    Thank you very much for this video, I showed it to my pupils in order to catch their attention and then works with them on proportionality and it was great.
    One of them, Claude, noticed something : on schemes with atoms the drawings you use doesn't abide by the CPK coloring convention, oxygen isn't red, hydrogen isn't white and it's quite disturbing.
    So the question is why did you choose these colors ? Is this because you just did not think about CPK coloring ? Or is there another reason ?

    • @TheSciGuys
      @TheSciGuys  9 років тому +1

      S Cormier We try to colour our molecules based on aspects of the elements that younger viewers may remember or about aspects of the element in real life. Many of the kids we aim to teach don't learn about CPK colouring and we found it was easier to learn when the colour resemble something they may associate the element with.

    how can it have a constant pressure? isnt the temperature also directly proportional to the pressure. As the temperature increase the volume increase so does the pressure. I'm confuse. Also mathematically, Volume divided Temperature equals constant. It says that the more we increase temperature the lower the value of the volume gets. Help me out in this please.

  • @rttaylor248

    This video gave me an idea: how close together can the oxygen molecules in the balloon get? What will happen if this happens? Also, how cold does the freezer have to be in order for this to happen?

    • @TheSciGuys
      @TheSciGuys  8 років тому +1

      +Rose “visionq” T if you cool them to a low enough temperature, the gas would turn into a liquid and the molecules would be much closer. I am not sure off the top of my head the temperature would have to be. Probably worth a Google search.

    Next can you investigate the relationship between age of a video, quality and likelihood that a teacher will tell you to watch it? I seem to have found that age of the video is inversely proportional to the quality but directly proportional to likelihood of instruction to watch but I would like someone to check my theory with a larger sample size

    is volume also proportional to temperature

    • @AdityaSharma-ld6kt
      @AdityaSharma-ld6kt 8 років тому

      +Aditya Prakash Dash The thing happened is when we provided the temp to the gases they gradually gains energy and started to exert more pressure on walls if volume is constt but since we know charles law is all about keeping temp prop. to volume and pressure constt so to keep this presssure constt the volume increases .

    is volume also proportional to temperature I.e if volume increases temperature increase and vice versa

    • @TheSciGuys
      @TheSciGuys  8 років тому

      +Aditya Prakash Dash Volume is proportional to temperature but in the sense that as temperature increases volume increases and vise versa.

    Isn't that molecules moves faster when heated and it wasn't that much appeared on the video

    • @TheSciGuys
      @TheSciGuys  9 років тому

      +Unknown Entity They do move faster but when we animate the molecules we have to decide which aspect of their change or activity to represent. In this one we aimed to show the volume change over the movement. If you look closely they do vibrate faster even if they don't fly around faster.
